Thanks Gunter,
Much appreciated, one of those bugs which wont bother me too much as a professional but for individuals I imagine it causing some confusion.Enjoying the current release of Enfold. I’ve got a couple of sites running with it now. About to roll it out to the rest of my server!
Just to point out, it also appears to bypass the ‘discourage search engines from indexing this site’ feature built in to WP.
Hi Ismael,
Thank you for clarifying. Appreciate this new feature its a good idea.
I have a couple of sites due to launch soon so I am using them as a testbed for the latest version of Enfold before I role out the updates to my other sites.
@Barry,
Love the use of the full width elements on the Harefield Church Website.
I have noticed that the the mobile menu flyout isn’t wide to display each menu item fully. I would recommend increasing the width or using the full screen flyout for a better user experience :)Glad to hear you fixed it.
I was about to say the features you mentioned are all included in the free version of the plugin so I am surprised you had an issue.
I’ll play around with the default settings for this one.
I assumed that if Yoast was installed it would override the default enfold settings anyway?
Hi Rikard – As I thought. Others will ask!
@Francemedics – have you set let the SEO plugin set this tag?Which features specifically are not working?
Have you checked that they are enabled in Yoast Premium’s general settings? Thanks Nikko,
That’s good news.
Noticed yesterday that the new Enfold release is out. I’ll run some tests with it after I have checked it for compatibility with my current setup.July 22, 2020 at 4:13 pm in reply to: Bug Report: Enfold logos excluded from lazy load and caching plugins #1232287Hi Ismael,
Probably not explained this very well and you raise a very good point and I can understand the logic behind that – It makes no sense to lazy load it and actually using a CDN for this component is a little daft. I was just highlighting the plugins that currently cannot ‘optimise’ the logo. It looks like the caching engine can see the logo afterall.
It would be great if it was not ignored by the CDN – But I imagine changing the settings for this will also mean Lazy load picks it up by default which is silly and a bad idea.
GTMetrix counts it as an item that should be loaded from CDN. So it makes a small difference to the performance score. But you are right, there isn’t really much difference assuming the image is compressed properly prior to upload.
Web Vitals
After making some changes to the size of the logo (pixel size) to match the recommended size in the Web Vitals results, it is no longer an issue in web vitals. Web Vitals recommended a much larger sized image than the actual required size, so I just matched it. Actual size is 88px tall, Vitals asked for 240px tall for some reason.Sorry to have wasted your time on this and thank you for your response. Just going through the process of optimising for Web Vitals. Currently getting 79/100 for performance provided the server response time is at its best. Other enfold sites are scoring high 80s with a different above the fold design, but the latest round of improvements is being tested on my company site which I expect will allow most designs to score 90+
The Largest Contentful Paint LCP is the lowest score.
I have a full screen ALB color section with full screen background image which is the main cause for the LCP being high.
I have also raised a second Forum post relating to CSS and JS merging which also adds weight to LCP.Happy for this post to be deleted if necessary.
July 20, 2020 at 7:22 pm in reply to: Feature request: Lazy load compatibility fix and Idea for plugin compatibility. #1231829Ok UPDATE:
Lazy Load from jetpack works with Portfolio grid – Provided that you specify the size of image to be used.
So I now have it running on my company site as a test.
Jetpack image optimisation also deals with Srcs Set as well to some extent.looking good!
I will now be looking at CSS tree shaking to and a few caching issues in my relentless efforts to score 90/100 in Web Vitals!
July 20, 2020 at 10:00 am in reply to: Product Search in top bar for Enfold WooCommerce Sites with Ajax dropdown #1231670Cheers Mike,
The site I have this setup on is due to go live on Thursday/Friday. So I will post a link to it on here and the showcase once it is done.
Adding the search bar to mobile menus
Forgot to add – If you don’t set the Search bar to hide on mobiles, you can use CSS to have it on and working on mobiles as well, although I have not checked to see if the ajax search results work in this configuration. Likely be controlled and turned back on using CSS.My preferred mobile solution:
I normally just add it to the top of the mobile menu (In the theme settings set a different menu for mobiles, add link to search page).Follow the instructions here for a working example of search added to the mobile menu:

Sorry the thread has developed a bit since my original post.
The Jetpack option was just an idea and as Jetpack includes a free CDN it seems like a good option for most Enfold users without add extra plugins to handle lazy load specifically.
The announcement that WordPress 5.5 will include Browser Side Lazy load by default will resolve the issue in modern browsers (excluding Safari to date).
So if you can add compatibility for Enfold with WordPress 5.5 Lazy Load to the Dev Repo that would be great.
As above, the announcement for 5.5 is below:
https://make.wordpress.org/core/2020/07/14/lazy-loading-images-in-5-5/Thanks again,
TomJuly 15, 2020 at 10:34 am in reply to: Feature request: Lazy load compatibility fix and Idea for plugin compatibility. #1230549Hi Victoria,
I received this today from the WP community:
https://make.wordpress.org/core/2020/07/14/lazy-loading-images-in-5-5/Browser side Lazy Load is definitely being incorporated in WordPress 5.5 by default.
Can this be added to the list of features in development?
I think its great that the Core team are adding things which resolve the last optimisation issues with Enfold.
Once Image Sourceset and lazy load are working fully with Enfold then I expect that the sites I produce will score close to or over 90% in Googles new Web Vitals Metric with Enfold.
Performance for most sites sits at about 71/100 at the moment, however I have a couple of sites reaching 90/100 depending on the design.
I am going to play around with some of the tools that can trim the merged stylesheet down like AMP when I get the chance.
June 8, 2020 at 8:22 am in reply to: Feature request: Lazy load compatibility fix and Idea for plugin compatibility. #1220376Hi Victoria,
Did you hear back from the Devs?
Would be good to see client side lazy load and plugin lazy load exclusions added as above added at the same time as srcset support for ALB elements.
Just an FYI srcset works on woocommerce pages within Enfold just not with ALB elements.
You can see this in action on the shop page of one of my recently launched sites.
https://www.simplysewingboxes.com/shop/No it was just a solution that didnt require modifying the CSS.
I am using your method. Not entirely sure of the purpose of adding 50px as default. Looks like a mistake to me!
The problem is something to do with the default margins on the paragraph ALB element.
If you insert a paragraph and tick the box for custom margins and set the top to 0px it solves the problem.
Enfold – Can you look into this and why it is applying itself after the update to the latest version?

May 27, 2020 at 10:39 am in reply to: Feature request: Lazy load compatibility fix and Idea for plugin compatibility. #1216879Now that fonts can be controlled on page load, this is the last major item on my Google Page Speed insights tests to fix with Enfold.
I follow this exact same process – focusing on the total downloadable packet size rather than re-sizing images to suit a space. Ultimately this helps a website load more quickly and is best practise to keep the server uncluttered.
Download this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/image-sizes/ it doesnt load in the front end and allows you to disable whichever images you like.
Pro Tip – If you are starting a new site, disable the date archives in the media library. It helps make things easier to manage in the future. If you have already got date archives enabled leave them on.
Auto image optimisation tools have been added to WordPress Core recently but Enfold have not finished integrating them into the theme yet. This includes client size lazy load and choosing the most appropriate image from those autogenerated by enfold (img sourceset)

Another job completed this week by Think Jarvis Design and Marketing.
Simply Sewing Boxes is a sewing and fabric subscription box service. Customers can sign up to receive a new box of sewing and quilting materials every month.
Inspiration was taken from a few of the other subscription box services available on the web. The site is built using WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions. The customer uses Square for their retail outlet so I integrated this into the new subscription box website. I have also added Recaptcha for WooCommerce to protect the login pages from hackers.
Note – Square for WooCommerce is a very inefficient plugin. It loads scripts on every page which I have yet to find a solution for. I have raised a ticket with WooCommerce as the older versions of the plugin do not have this issue. The site is therefore a little slower than I would have liked it to have been.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for getting back to me. It looks like the problem has gone away now the website is published. The IPS tag was changed so I had to publish the site to prevent an empty webspace. Sorry to have wasted your time. I tried it in a few browsers after publication on IOS.
The site can be found here: https://www.etsfirstaid.co.uk
I have just completed a new website for Elite Training Solutions, a local First Aid and E-Learning provider based in the UK.

April 24, 2020 at 11:49 am in reply to: Both Advanced layout builder and default editor is showing #1206784I have the same issue in English on all of my enfold websites roughly 30 in total. Not tested it in different languages.
If you have the Block editor set in the admin panel, both the advanced layout editor and block editor show when editing.
In order to use the theme at the moment, I have to enable the classic editor in the admin panel. This prevents both editors from showing.
Please can you add this to the list of bug fixes for the next minor release, NOT major release? I imagine a lot of new customers being very frustrated right now.
@BeeCee
Read the first post of this thread. It was updated this month. Definitely not discontinued.I didn’t realise the Responsive images came from core as well! Wow OK this is going to be the final tick in a box for Enfold for me. If we get Lazy load support as well then the only way to further improve it performance wise will be to reduce the main framework.
I’ll be testing autoptimize when I get the chance to reduce the size of the merged files.
Looks like the Devs at Enfold have some work to do! I will still compress all images before uploading them. It helps keep the server and database clean. But When the update lands I will need to regenerate thumbnails for all of my websites so I can enable the feature.
@webvriend @gunter
Not sure if you have seen but WordPress core team are planning to launch Lazy loading of images as standard in WordPress Core. Lazy load is being added to all major browsers as a html solution rather than relying on Javascript. I’d imagine that for enfold to add responsive images, that the Enfold team will need to wait until after the new lazy loading attributes are added to the core, otherwise the new responsive image coding may not be compatible with lazy load.@gunter – Just so you are aware, I currently use a plugin to stop enfold from generating all of the image sizes due to node limitations on my server. I.e. The maximum number of files allowed is about 250,000. Split over several websites I would need to massively increase the number of server packages I currently use to accomodate all of the Enfold sites I run if I had to allow every single enfold image size to generate on each site. I am not sure how you intend on adding responsive image sizes to Enfold but I may have to regenerate all images on every site in order for this to work.
@webvriend have you tried using Jetpack’s site accelerator? I believe that it automatically picks the best fit for each image size? assuming you have allowed all thumbnails to generate? I have experienced the odd issue with this where it picks the wrong image size for the space available.@bpieterse
Sorry not yet. I’ve had a really busy start to the year currently working on 10 enfold websites so not had he chance to for the articles. Also sat nursing our 2 day old baby! Busy what can I say! :)I’ve got 5 articles to write each covering a different area. I’ll get them online as soon as I can!
February 12, 2020 at 11:19 am in reply to: Stop the sidebar content moving below full width elements #1183824Hi Victoria,
You are a diamond thank you! I did attempt to edit the clear value before but I must have picked up the wrong element.I have just realised you specifically set this to work for the SportsPress Team Pages. I really appreciate this thank you.
If anyone else wants to use this for all posts just remove .sp_team-template-default as below:body aside.units.alpha { width: 27%; clear: none; }
I have seen several people ask for this on the forum, so I am sure this will help others.
I will share the completed site in the forum once I have finished. Mountains of content left to add yet.
Cheers,

Love your use of images and floating flex columns. Looks amazing!
Might I suggest doing the bug fixes in stages rather than another cumulative release? Users have complained openly on this page every time you release a new version, other features have been broken by mistake. We then have to wait for another cumulative release instead of a new minor release. The problem isn’t about feature communication as others have suggested, it is about the lack of regular small updates and fixes instead of major releases..
I love Enfold, it has been instrumental in my day to day business so I just want to help as it is mutually beneficial, I am considering applying for a support role on the forum as it is currently a major part of my work.
I have to agree with the others about the tabbed and hidden ALB elements. A billion extra clicks for the same function – It actually makes it harder to find the setting you are looking for. I like it as a UX experience for newbies but for those that need to work quickly it is just painful!
Looking forward to the next release. Thank you all for continuing to develop Enfold. It really is a great platform to work with.
February 7, 2020 at 4:58 pm in reply to: Social Icons not displaying in Widget area after fix #1182350This is the workaround for the issue at the moment, not ideal but at least the icons still show and function correctly.
Yes – I have two new websites running on my test environment with the latest version of Enfold and all looks OK.
Try the following in the order below:
– Is the colour of the icons set correctly? Check the shortcode I.e. white on white wont show up.
-Change the icon settings to open in same window
-Go into enfold’s performance settings and tick the box at the bottom to delete old style and JS files, click save
-Then unselect the option and click save.
-Load a page on your website to regenerate the merged style sheets and JS files.
-If you use a caching plugin clear the cache.
-Open an incognito window/private browser window
-See if the issue is still there -
