    Thank you!

    Hi Rikard,

Your reply about what turns out to the lack of report on this issue from anyone else on the planet is the help I need! It gives me essential ammunition for the State’s ITSD team. Thank you for your fast response!

    That’s very helpful; thanks!

in reply to: Adjust vertical space/gap between Grid Rows? #1304936

Thanks so much for testing further and giving me all the deep-dive details. This all makes sense. I like using full-width elements, and I now know a great deal about how they behave. Your per-page custom CSS solution is ideal for my situation, because I don’t want the default spacing for the Whitespace Separator to disappear everywhere I use it, just in certain cases.

    Fantastic support, Mike!

in reply to: Adjust vertical space/gap between Grid Rows? #1304754

Mike, your CSS worked like a charm! I am looking to create more stacked Grid Row layouts in future, so being able to make the changes specific to certain pages is a great tool to add to my box. Thank you!

I am also very glad to learn about how to find the page ID and more about how to understand the source code.

Further tracking down the whitespace behavior:
I created a test page with stacked Grid Rows *without* any links on the rows. First I stacked the rows without any separator and looked at the source codes. There was no “after_submenu” present. Then I added the whitespace separators and looked at the codes. Sure enough, between each of the Grid Rows, “after_submenu” had now appeared. Here’s the page with the separators: https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/grid-row-test/

In comparison, I looked at the source code on other pages where I am using whitespace separators, and also created a test page where I added such separators between color sections and other layout elements. All the test cases looked normal, and there was no “after_submenu” in the code.

So it looks like adding horizontal whitespace between rows is triggering that unwanted “after_submenu” code that is adding the extra 50px of top and bottom padding. I recommend that Enfold take a look at fixing this bug.

in reply to: Adjust vertical space/gap between Grid Rows? #1304489

Thanks, Mike. Before I try that, I have two questions:

    1) Where do I find the ID number for each page?

    2) Why are the whitespace separators between the Grid Rows on the Featured Artists page getting an extra 50px top and bottom padding? I’ve never had that happen with whitespace separators before, and I have been using them in Enfold since building the website in 2016.

    For instance, on this page:
    https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/missouri-arts-awards-2021
The color section that beings “Honorees” is built with “Honorees” as a Special Heading within one column. Below it is a whitespace separator of 20px. Below that are two columns, 2/3 and 1/3, one with text (“Arts Education”), one with an Image element. There’s no extra 50px top and bottom padding on that separator.

in reply to: Make height of color section even smaller than no padding? #1247414

    Hi Jordan,
“Did you add the code to the very top of quick css so it runs first? Also, clear the cache a few times over.”

Yes, I did both. Further steps:
    – Added c19_banner in the Developer section of Custom ID Attribute to BOTH the Color Section and the Text box.
    – Changed type size in text box from 28px to 18px.
    – Tested with and without adding !important, thus:
    #c19_banner .av_textblock_section p {
    margin: 0 !important;
    }
    – Cleared the cache several times after each change
    – Checked the page in Microsoft Edge as well as Google Chrome

    Nothing has made a difference.

Just to be sure I am doing this correctly?
    – Should the Custom ID Attribute be “c19_banner” or “#c19_banner”? I have tried both ways.
    – “c19_banner” should go in Custom ID Attribute, not Custom CSS Class, right? (If you can point me toward a place in the Documentation, or even a post in the Forum, that explains the difference, that would be great!)

in reply to: Make height of color section even smaller than no padding? #1247012

    Hi Rikard,

I tried it. The height of the section has not changed. It looks like the top margin for the text box has been removed because the text has moved to the top of the color bar.

I eventually want the text size to be 16px instead of 28px, but I’ve left it at 28px while we are working on this. I did do a test run with 16px, and got the same result of the text moving to the top of the colored bar.

    Thanks,
    Barbara

Close, please. I’m all set on this one! :D

That did it! Thank you so much!

in reply to: Customize accordion colors for tab/toggle content area? #1236154

    Hi Rikard,

Thank you for those clear directions, but still no success, I’m afraid! Here’s what I did.

I want the custom color for the toggle content only on this one page: https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/missouri-artsafe I want the background color ot the toggle content to be a lighter tint of the background color of the toggle title bar.

So in the Accordion element on that page, I went as you directed to Advanced > Developer Settings. In the Custom CSS Class bar, I entered moartsafe-custom-accordion.

Then in Quick CSS, I added this:
    .moartsafe-custom-accordion .toggle_content {
    background: #fdf7e0;
    }

But there was no change in the toggle content background color.

Just to be sure, I changed moartsafe-custom-accordion in both the Accordion element on the page and Quick CSS to my-custom-tabs, but the color change still didn’t happen.

    Hi Rikard,

Would you please expand on what you mean by this? “But you need need to add the my-custom-tabs class to the element, which I see that you haven’t done. Please add the class…”
Where? How? Please assume I know nothing. Thanks! :D

in reply to: Upgrade to WordPress 5.4 breaks Editors #1200592

    Hi Rikard,

Since our problem isn’t happening to anybody else, and since from the time that I originally posted I have confirmed that it isn’t even happening if I try the same word combination elsewhere on the same page, I’ll chalk it up to general weirdness. Thank you for your quick response, and please delete my question!

    Cheers,
    Barbara

in reply to: Upgrade to WordPress 5.4 breaks Editors #1200338

When I try certain word combinations in the Text element, I get something like this:

    Request URI: https://my_website/wp-admin/post.php?post=9373&action=edit&classic-editor=1
    Support ID: 9985056978924732000

This never happened before I updated WordPress this afternoon. I am already using Classic Editor, not Block Editor.

No, I can’t give you back-end access; this is a State of Missouri website.

in reply to: Using Anchor Links in the same page #1197889

I just found this thread when trying to figure out why my anchors were not working. It would be super helpful if in the back end for Color Section > Edit Section > Advanced > Developer Settings > Custom ID Attribute, that information was included. All it says now about limits is “Be sure to have a unique value on the page and also make sure to only use allowed characters (latin characters, underscores, dashes and numbers, no special characters can be used).” Nothing about all lowercase.

in reply to: Creating blog, wrong posts showing on hosting page #1148226

Please reread my question. I realize it’s complex!
I am not telling Enfold about a problem that happens when I use those plugins. I am telling Enfold about a problem that happens when I try to create a blog on my website, which is powered by Enfold. The plugins are relevant because somehow when I try to create a blog, content on my website that was posted using the plugins gets yanked into the blog instead of the content I wanted for the blog.

    Plugins:
    – Web 2.0 creates a directory.
    – HelpieKB creates a knowledge base.

That’s interesting! I still don’t know what “secondary font” actually means though. I guess I’m just going to have to find out via trial and error….

in reply to: Need clarification on basics in General Styling #1122969

    Hi Ismael,

Thanks for your answer. I have to say I find it just bizarre that a theme wouldn’t have a complete list of the elements affected by the colors of the various layout components. I mean, isn’t that rock-bottom basic information a designer needs? I did look at the preview in the styling panel, but needed to take my knowledge further. Oh well…Could you at least tell me the most important thing that’s covered by “secondary font”? I’m completely puzzled that that one!

    Thanks,
    Barbara

in reply to: Import Demo as page for already live site? #1121974

Thanks, Nikko. I did try that method on a staging site, but it didn’t work – kept breaking things! I’ve gone to a much less complicated method and installed a knowledge base plugin. Thank you for your help.

It’s public. It’s from this channel, of the Missouri Department of Economic Development:

in reply to: Video is not showing; only link is showing #813650

Sorry about the delayed response; I just got back from an extended absence.

I can see why you can’t reproduce the issue. I’ve expanded my tests of the Video Element to try several different YouTube URLs, and I’ve found that sometimes the Video Element works perfectly, and sometimes the Element shows only the link. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern to which YouTube URLs are compatible. It’s freaking weird!

in reply to: Video is not showing; only link is showing #804082

No, it is not. Please be sure you are checking this test page and not the actual homepage of the website:
    https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/homepage-experiments

To simplify matters, I have now removed everything from the test page except two Grid Rows that illustrate the following problems with using a YouTube or Vimeo URL:

    Top Grid Row
Enfold’s Video Element shows only the link when YouTube or Vimeo URL is inserted.

    Bottom Grid Row
When using Enfold’s Code Block Element with a YouTube embed code, the Grid Row cell displays differently than the three other cells in the row that contain Image Elements. The Code Block cell throws off the bottom margins of the Image Element cells.

I have checked the Homepage Experiments page on computers that are outside my office as well as within my office network. The video display problems occur no matter which network and which server I have used to view that page.

in reply to: Video is not showing; only link is showing #803160

Any progress? I just tested the Video Element with a YouTube URL again, and the problem is still there.

    1) Video Element shows only link when YouTube or Vimeo URL is inserted

    2) When using a code block/YouTube embed code, the Grid Row cell displays differently than the other cells in the row that contain Image Elements. The Code Block cell throws off the bottom margins of the Image Element cells.

in reply to: Video is not showing; only link is showing #799725

    Sure thing.

I posted a new video using its YouTube address within the Enfold Video Element on March 10. The next time I tried to post a video was on May 18. That’s when I first encountered the problem of only the link showing up.

At that time on May 18, my site was still running Enfold 3.8.4. That is the same version the site was running on March 10 when the YouTube link posted just right. My site updated to Enfold 4.0.7 on May 23. So there wasn’t any change in my installation between when the Video Element/YouTube link was displaying perfectly and when it was displaying only the link.

Again, I note that the link-only-display is occurring only for new attempts to post a link within Video Element. All the places on my site where I already had YouTube and Vimeo links posted within Video Element still look great.

in reply to: Video is not showing; only link is showing #799649

I’m not having problems embedding a video using a code block/YouTube embed code. I’m having problems with the way the cell containing the video displays publicly once I’ve done that. The video does embed. But the public appearance of the cell is wrong. Please look at the second grid row on this page:
    https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/homepage-experiments

I did follow your directions to switch to my default WordPress theme, WordPress 2016. I was initially confused because all I could see in the back end was a bunch of coding, but I was able to figure out where to insert the YouTube embed code. But when I switched back to Enfold, the public appearance of the video cell in the Grid Row was exactly the same.

Since code block/embed was supposed to be a workaround for the Enfold Video Element, I do need to know how to fix the public appearance of the video cell when using code block/embed, as shown on this page:
    https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/homepage-experiments
    Please advise! :-)

However, the larger issue is that YouTube/Vimeo links no longer display properly when inserted in the Video Element. That problem is illustrated in the first grid row on the Experiments page.

I have just now searched “video” and found I’m not the only one who is suddenly having this problem:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/video-not-showing-4 – May 18 (I’d seen this post before, and unfortunately the poster has not responded to your last suggestion from May 23)
    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/get-video-to-play-on-site – May 19
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/removal-of-black-bars-on-vimeo-videos – May 11 (this one unfortunately dead-ends in a request for admin access, so I have no idea if and/or how the issue was resolved)

The Enfold Video Element had been working perfectly on my site for 10 months. The issue appears to me to be a new bug with the Element.

in reply to: Video is not showing; only link is showing #799169

I’ve tried the code block/embed code on this test page:
    https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/homepage-experiments
The fourth cell on the first grid row uses Enfold’s Video Element with a YouTube link. Just the link shows.
The fourth cell in the second grid row uses the Code Block Element with the YouTube embed code. An image shows, but the visible dimensions of the fourth cell are different than the other three that contain Image Elements. This throws off the appearance of the entire row.

So the code block/embed code method does not solve the problem.

Compare the appearance and behavior of the grid row as it appears on the current homepage:
    https://www.missouriartscouncil.org
This row was created with the fourth cell set to contain Enfold’s Video Element with a YouTube link. I switched out the YouTube link on March 10. It worked then and still works perfectly, just as using this method has worked perfectly since I launched the site last July.

Each cell on all three of the rows (the actual homepage and the two rows on the experiments page) is formatted for a top alignment and no padding. The Video Element on the homepage is formatted 4:3. Each cell also has a custom background color identical to the color section below it, #e2eaf5. The background is not, however, visible on the homepage grid row.

BTW, the top video is created via Fullwidth Easy Slider using a YouTube link. I created a new Fullwidth Easy Slider with a different YouTube link. It worked perfectly. The problem seems to be isolated to Video Element.

Yes, this one is all good! Thanks!

    Update:

We’re now running Enfold 4.0.7. Yay!

I have figured out what went wrong with the image size. Sometime over the past eight days, the default attachment size in WordPress changed from Full Size to whatever size was at the top of the list. Irritating, but at least I know what to do.

Unfortunately, the video link is still a problem. I’m opening another thread.
