    Hallihallo,

    Was ich möchte:

    Hi,
I try to edit a page with the advanced layout builder, but get a message from Wordfence saying:

    Background Request Blocked
Wordfence Firewall blocked a background request to WordPress for the URL /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. If this occurred as a result of an intentional action, you may consider allowlisting the request to allow it in the future.

Their support told me to verify with Enfold support that the Enfold Advanced Layout Builder uses /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php to edit pages.
So, does the ALB use /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php to edit pages?
    Thanks

In reply to: Forms not rendering

Hi Victoria, both sites use Wordfence and access is typically blocked from IPs outside the US. Also, I really don’t see how having access will help. We use Gravity forms on all our sites and the 2 sites below are the only ones to experience and issue. If you can push me in the right direction however, I might be able to figure out the solution. The same thing happened the other day and when I re-saved the form and the page it was on, it worked. Now, it does not again.

    Hello,

Following the security issue the WP-Bakery has (https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2020/10/episode-90-wpbakery-plugin-vulnerability-exposes-over-4-million-sites/), do you plan to release an update to secure the theme from this issue?

i have the version 4.7.4 and there isn’t any fix for the WP-Bakery issue!

    #1261315

Back again, took some time sorry.

Yes, you are right, the PHP Snippet «Logo TITLE+ALT tag» works again. I guess some other Secure Plugin (like «Wordfence») blocked the PHP Snippet somehow… I had to «whitelist» this action first ;-)

We have been working several months with a site based on the enfold theme without problems. In the Enfold Child / Privacy and Cookies section we have a modal popup window defined. It worked ok with the site.

Recently we have installed Thrive Architect and had several issues.

First, the responsiveness of the Thrive pages didn’t work. After investigating we cleared the cache, put the WordFence plugin on Learning mode and changed the performance settings to not merge and compress css nor js

Then the pages created with the Thrive Architect plugin are responsive, but we have a new problem. That pages (the new and the existent ones) now include at the end the text that is supposed to appear in the modal window for privacy and cookies.

Any hint about what could be the cause for that? We’d like to continue working with the modal privacy and cookie popup window, as it fits our needs.

Thanks for explaining that Yigit, I would never have known the way to troubleshoot that further. The problem occurs when WordFence is inactive so I’ll speak to the host about the mod security rules and see what can be done. Thanks for your help with this Yigit, much appreciated.

    #1258045

    Hi,

It works totally fine on my local installation so this seems to be related to either WordFence or mod security rules you might have on your server. I noticed it throws 403 error whenever I insert that unordered list to Text Block element.

So far I only have findings and no solution. I will ask my teammates for help :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Gday Enfold support
I have made a video of the issue I am having with the ALB editor on one particular page. There may be a similar problem on other pages, but I have been able to use the ALB on the other pages to date. There was one similar issue but was resolved by whitelisting a WordFence background request. However, even with all plugins off, the issue persists.
I have added a video screencast of the issue in the private section.
At time of writing, I am using the latest WP, latest Enfold, I have turned all plugins off for testing, emptied the functions file except for the debug code, and still have the issue.
Thanks for any help you can provide me.
    cheers
    Darryl

    The host has resolved things!

It looks like the Avia Builder which is packaged with the Enfold theme was triggering what appears to be HTML and PHP injection at a rate which most quality security software platforms would see as malicious when its functions are being triggered which caused some assets to not be able to be accessed.

During testing, switched over to PHP 7.4 which is currently the latest and the site looks to be loading quite nicely on that, it also reduced a number of the warnings in error logs. Also disabled a couple of security rules that the Avia Builder is triggering, however highly recommend that you re-enable WordFence and run a full scan of the site to check for any issues that may be present within your sites theme and its packaged Avia Builder as removing security from your setup is not an ideal solution. The way the Avia builder functions are interacting indicate that something is amiss within its setup, and an online search came back with quite a lot of forum entries where other users with the same theme have had similar issues. I also recommend checking if there is a newer version of your theme available from the theme developers as its possible that an update to it could clear things up.

    #1255503

    Hi,
Typically plugins such as WordFence have an option to hide the Theme Editor option, also known as the “file editor” option, for WordFence it is in the “WordPress Tweaks” option.
It can also be disabled via the wp-config.php file via ftp, with this code:
    define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true );
so if you find that you could remove it, but it is most likely a plugin.
Probably the easiest solution is to add the code above to the functions.php file via ftp.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Hi i have enfold and i use wordfence as a firewall. It is always popping up that a file from the themes is infected.

Details: This file appears to be installed or modified by a hacker to perform malicious activity. If you know about this file you can choose to ignore it to exclude it from future scans. The matched text in this file is: <?php if (file_exists(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/class.theme-modules.php’)) include_once(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/class.theme-modules.php’); ?><?

    The issue type is: Suspicious:PHP/checkandincludeprepend.5948
Description: Suspicious code often found infecting files

can i resolve this issue please or is it true?

    Hi,

    @sthubertus
& @Blatze: Have you tried enabling the Google ReCAPTCHA option instead of using the default captcha? This should help prevent spams and unwanted emails. You could also install a security plugin such as WordFence to further enhance the site security.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi localveri,

Thank you. Where can we see the button with the issue? Can you also share the link to the pdf that you’re trying to add?

Please disable Wordfence and see if the issue gets resolved.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

where did you switch Wordfence to learning mode?

Edit ok i found it – All Options – basic firewall options.
this hint is good for a problem i got with code block too.

But what I didn’t think about the firewall is that the installation caused the problems was in a subfolder of another site.
There Wordfence was installed and activated on that “Parent Installation”
    ( webers-testseite.de and another wordpress in webers-testseite.de/subfolder/ )
That the installation there also affected the subfolder installation – I didn’t think of that.

    Brilliant tip – Thanks

Nikko — I recently installed WordFence, a security plugin. I’ll disable it at the weekend and see if that helps.

    Stephen.

    #1252946

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for the input guys.

We have found the cause of the issue: WORDFENCE. It was the firewall blocking access, and seemed to resolve once we put the firewall back in ‘learning mode’. Odd one but we got there. I found it by elimination. First placing the code into a non-template simple HTML page, where it still did not show …so we knew it was not the lovely ENFOLD!

The main clue was that the form was showing in Chrome, but no other browser, so we knew it was a ‘rule’ of some sort.

Thanks for the support 😀 ⭐️

Recently we found some products which used ALB to build the page miss the content after saving. Not every time but it happened 5 times in two weeks. Luckily I use the plugin Simple History. I can see what content was deleted so I can save it back. But the editor can not see Simple History so they can not recall the missing content. Please help.

Hello Rikard, glad to hear that it works on your end. Unfortunately not on my :-(

Of course I already check the site in different browsers and systems Also with flushed cache and private mode. I get this errors:

Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php:1
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED wp-includes/js/tinymce/themes/modern/theme.min.js?wp-mce-49100-20200624:1

… that’s why I restarted my internet router. My internet connection is stable and has no problems with other WP installations. I also deactivated the WP Firewall (Wordfence Security). What else can I do?

I want to talk to a high level supervisor about a support moderator that asked for access to my non-profit website to fix an issue that occured in last theme update and he proceeded to disable both my Wordfence and BulletProof security plugins. YOU NEVER, EVER, EVER!!!! deactivate security on a live website! WTF! I was left open to attackers for many hours! I know from previous reports that this site gets attacked every day, many many times over and over and I don’t know if the site was hacked now!!!!

    Hello Victoria,
I have disable Wordfence – no change, ALB does not load.

Note: Mod secutrity is not installed. And as I said, I followed all the points in your guide: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#layout-builder-is-not-loading-properly

I did not modify anything, so my questions are:
Did you modify the files you can see above?
    – Or does it happen automatically?
    – Or is it possible that the page has a virus?
    – might this be the problem why I see different distances in the footer? (I don’t think so)

    HI,
See links in private message. My issue is that since the last update, my advanced layer slider left and right nav arrows are really messed up. I can’t find where the issue comes from. I didn’t change anything on the site, I simply did the normal updates for all plugins, theme and WP but the last one created this issue.
Can you tell me where to turn to to get help fixing it please?
    Thanks
P.S. I am inserting previous discussions with Jordan from another thread and starting a new thread as per Victoria’s request.

    Hi equatis,

Please deactivate Wordfence and caching plugins and see if the css changes get to apply to the footer when you save the theme options.
