Neither worked. The code was added to Enfold / Styling / Quick CSS. Is this the correct place? Page IDs were easily found. Other ideas?
Topic: CSS in uploads
Hey kriesi,
I have uploaded enfold and installed the child theme. Now am i customizing the theme, however I run into some .css files in my upload directory. uploads/dynamic_avia/”name”.css I have trouble overwriting the css rules in these files with my child theme. Is it normal these files are used and created in the upload directory? The purpose of these extra files seem unclear for me. How can I overwrite these rules in my child them without modifying them directly.

Make sure that the default wordpress importer plugin is deactivated. It may conflict with the dummy data importer.

2) can you let me know how mediaelement-and-player.js and mediaelementplayer.js interact with that site and how to correct that situation ?
No, because we’re not involved in the media player development.
3) Can I delete both files without impact of the rest of the theme?
You can delete the script files however this will probably break the html5 video support. As mentioned above mediaelement will be part of the WP core when 3.6 comes out – then we’ll probably remove the script files from enfold and load the player by using the WP core files…

Yes sorry, I fixed it late last night. I had the Blog post inserted instead of the post slider, but that one definitely has an issue with FF and IE9 if inserted into one column. The image is the full page width. But since I am not using that one, it is not an issue for me.

it describes it as critical and indicates the following :
This file contains a suspected malware URL listed on Google’s list of malware sites.
can you let me know how mediaelement-and-player.js and mediaelementplayer.js interact with that site
and
how to correct that situation ?
Can I delete both files without impact of the rest of the theme
or
is there a better solution to sort this out ?

Ty for nick for the tip on making it wide, but it would be nice to make it also taller. In the predefined color scheme , I was hoping there’s a hide button like show all optons . Why ? One mistake could alter the settings of your custom color scheme when you pressed a button accidentally.
It’s a good option for starting the theme but later on it becomes useless.
I’m writing to ask for recommendations on how to change the layout of Enfold. I would like to make these changes in a way that will enable me to be able to update the theme as new versions come out.
EASY SLIDER
– set minimum height
I am using an images that 1500 x 440px with captions. When it gets to the small mobile size, the image is scaled down to the point that it is only 115px tall. I would like to set a minimum height of 150px instead, and the image could be cropped on the right and left to accommodate this.
The reason I would like to change this is becasue 115px does not leave enough room for the captions and navigation, it’s just not tall enough.

I would like to be able to add a PNG overlay repeating background to some of the slides.
PORTFOLIO COLUMNS – I would like to change the number of columns used in the portfolio area to the following:
4 on widest
3 in ipad size
2 on large mobile
2 on small mobile
STORE COLUMNS – For the store, I just want to change it so that when it gets wider than an iPad size, 4 columns show in the store.
4 on widest – current is 3. needs to be 4.
3 in ipad size – current is correct.
2 on large mobile – current is correct.
2 on small mobile – current is correct.

Because when I tried to install enfold on some other domain’s wordpress, it worked fine.
But this time I installed it on sub domain for my test. I think that’s why.

Your header has a gradient effect on my laptop. In photoshop it says top of header is f9f9f9 and bottom of header is e5e5e5 and changes in between.
Try this css. If nothing happens switch the css between the (.header_color) with the (.header_color .header_bg)

hey!
The layerslider scripts are only included when used with template builder. otherwise there might be styling issues we cannot control due to the complexity of the theme.
If you really want to use the slider without the template builder open the config-layerslider folder in your enfold theme folder. you will see the “LayerSlider” folder inside which is the actual layerslider wordpress plugin.
If you copy the plugin and add it to your plugin folder, then activate it the default layerslider shortcode will also be available

What’s even worse is that the link from the blog post still is pointing at the home page and not at the blog page, so the whole point of this exercise was useless. Since it is still not recognizing /blog/ as a blog.
Are you sure you have it set as a blog in Enfold > Theme Options and you sure that Settings > Reading is same as above?

Hi Nick,
it was the first one you mentioned which was not set correctly! In the Enfold > Theme Options I had not selected any page in the Blog section. Now that I set “Blog” each first image in each post appearing on the main blog page is no longer centered, as it was nicely before with the nice author circular thumbnail appearing below. Now the image is on the left. How do I make them centered again all of them?
Besides, there is again something that I don’t seem to understand: if I select the Blog page in the Enfold > Theme Options as per your screenshots, now the page shows again not just the list of blogposts with the excerpt as it was before (which is exactly what I wanted). It shows each article complete, one after the other, and without any possibility to add comments. I just simply want it to revert to the way it was before, so I guess I will “unselect” the Blog page in the Enfold > Theme Options, because I am currently getting a few visitors to the site and I don’t want to mess up too much!
I’ll wait for your advice on how to fix the image and excerpts displaying as you will see them now that I will again “deselect” the Blog page option, rather than on the left (the image) and the full articles on such page.

IF you don’t please change so that you do for the above settings. Right now your site thinks that the blog is the home page, that’s why its redirecting you there, so I think one of the above settings is different than what I displayed above.

Do you have WordPress 3.5 or higher? Enfold theme will not work properly on older versions of wp.

There is probably a simple solution to this, but I cannot seem to find it: I’ve duplicated the “Enfold – most beautiful theme ever” advanced slider, but I cannot find an option to rename it. It’s not a train smash as it doesn’t affect the functionality of the website, I just like things to be organized, so I would prefer if I could rename it from “Enfold – most beautiful theme ever copy” to something more appropriate?

I did some research into this and this shouldn’t be happening. If you go to fontello.com , can you see all the glyphs in ie8 ?
IE8 has problems with EOT files as IE9 and up falls back to TTF.
I reconverted all the font files from the ttf and they are different. They work for me but I don’t have IE8 to test them with.

Just open up /enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/assets/ and you will see the fonts folder. rename it to fonts-original, and upload the fonts folder in its place that is inside the zip. Is there a way to set a new page I have created on Enfold as the frontpage? What has happened is that I have deleted the original frontpage and created a new “home” page that I would like to set as the frontpage, because if you visit the website directly, it says the frontpage is unavailable – which is obviously because I have moved it to trash.
Any suggestions? Or must I simply redesign the homepage feel on the original frontpage?

Hello, not only Opera and XP – look at Enfold Theme in IE8 – glyphs problem and navigation icons as well http://www.eurokreator.eu/images/enfold-IE8.jpg. Tested on windows 7. Maybe You try to find any solution. I understand the statistic argument, but in Poland we have today 5,8% Opera and 5,7% IE8 users. Regards

Ok, I talked to Kriesi and the problem is the logic of the avia_backend_truncate() function. It will not truncate the string unless it reaches a “delimiter” char which can be a space character or a period, etc. At the moment Kriesi uses a period which can result into different excerpt lengths – it simple depends on how long your sentences are. You can change the delimiter char to a space though – then the function can truncate your post content after each word. Open up wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/postslider.php and replace

Look for shortcode_insert_button styling. You can use the child and siblings css selector to target each element. Also note that there are four tabs which you can target by .avia-tab selector. Layout element tab will be avia-tab-1, Content element tab will be .avia-tab-2 and so on. For example if you want to style Text Block element, place this code below the shortcode_insert_button styling:
