All theme settings, pages, posts etc are stored in your wordpress database. So writing over the theme files doesn’t effect them or your settings. So as long as the theme name is still Enfold, the theme settings stay the same.
You can subscribe to get emails whenever the theme files are updated in your Downloads section on Themeforest. Just check the box for it and you will get an email whenever Kriesi uploads new files.

Sorry for the truly silly question but where do I see that there is a new release of Enfold and update? I am running version 1.3.1. and within WP I don’t get any notification that there is a new release of the theme nor where do I go get it.
Also, I read somewhere here now that you need to do that via FTP. How do I make sure the pages I created are not overwritten by the new installation? I just created the “About page” so far, so I don’t risk to lose too much, but since I am not a techy it took me two days to do a really nice about page with animations, sliders and a few other things and I also loaded quite a few images in the gallery, so will I lose everything after I upgrade?

I would like to only show the excerpt in the ENFOLD LATEST PORTFOLIO WIDGET. I know at present that the title creates the link, but can the excerpt create the link to the portfolio items?
Also, I see theres an update. As I’m quite far down the line creating the site, what would be the safest way to upgrade?

Hi, I have updated to 1.4 from Themeforest and the style sheet is saying it is 1.3.1. Do I have the update?
Also I am using the provided child theme and when this is activated I get this warning – “A new update for your theme Enfold Child theme is available! The latest version is 1.3. You’re using version 1.0.”

Sorry Devin, one last thing, if I replace the Enfold folder with the new Enfold folder via PTP, will all my previous theme settings be lost?

The Icon list on the home page only shows the icons partially:

Notice how only the phone icon shows and a tiny section of the “We care” icon supposed to be a heart.

Hi Iain,
You’ll need to update via FTP in that case. Some servers are set where the wordpress user levels don’t have permission to re-name folders or overwrite them. So when you try to install the theme file again, it doesn’t allow it.
Installing via ftp is pretty quick and simple but here is a video that will help: https://vimeo.com/64927356

Hi guys!
Enfold is fantastic, an amazing piece of work, but I’m having a problem upgrading to the latest version.
I keep getting ‘Destination folder already exists.’ Upload failed. I’ve changed the name of the zip file but it does not help.
Am I missing something obvious?

I agree would be nice to have this option also but also:

Hi!
Maybe your server blocks the file upload. Try to unpack the zip file and use ftp to upload the enfold folder into the wp-content/themes/ directory.

An update has just been released. Please install it since its a big update.
We can solve this in 5 minutes if you show us the actual page so we can use chrome dev tools or firebug to give you the code because I know you will reply that its not working if I try to guess at the css code. Here is my guess

I guess the file you download from themeforest is not actually the theme.zip. Its the overall package that includes the license, psd, documentation and then then enfold.zip file that is the actual theme file.
So first unzip the file you’ve downloaded from themeforest and then you can select the enfold.zip inside of it to upload to wordpress.

Hi,
Go to LayerSlider WP > Select “Enfold – most beautiful theme ever” slider > Global Settings > Basic > Layers Container. It will constrain the elements to a specified width and keep it centered. Suggested width is 800. You may have to adjust the position of some layers.

i can’t change, select or see the text in the text block ( content element ) of the avia layout builder during a few hours ? Everything was working fine but during a few hours, text disappear like there is a text in white color on white background but i can’t select it ???

You can display a google map widget anywhere you like. Here we are using the template builder to add a sidebar area at the top of the entry, then we add a google map widget to the area. You can add any number of other widget you like as well.
