Hi Team,
we’re looking into purchasing another Enfold theme license for another website we’re creating. We’re looking to make something that has a large search bar to easily find products on the website.
As we really love enfold and it’s already very versatile to make whatever we’d like with it, the only obstacle we’ve encountered is to move the search bar somewhere just below the header, and to expand it to be long similar to search websites like, google, yahoo, amazon etc.
Do you have a code I can insert to move the search bar below the logo instead of being part of the main menu and extend the search to be longer something like this: http://demo.globalads24.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Screen-shot-2013-05-31-at-7.34.05-PM-option-1.jpg or similar.

i’ts the part with the header “THE OFFICE” with a subtext.
this page is not part of the demo content so i’m not sure how to achieve this component.

Hi guys – going well with Enfold – love it!
However – have a slight styling issue that is really bugging me and for the life of me cannot figure out!
See screenshot link below – note the mini cart is white with nearly white text (must be taking the enfold settings – but since I’ve inverted the top header, this results in it not working so good for this)
How can I amend directly either the text colours on that mini cart OR the background of it (along with the button that seems to have an icon on it also) I’ve tried finding the specific CSS styles via FireBug – but no matter what I try its not working :(
Also note the button in the side bar seems a bit screwed up – doesn’t fit quite right in the side bar – this may be a little bug – but if someone could point me in the direction of solving these I’d really appreciate it!!!!
Topic: Issue with Child Theme
Hi – relatively new to modifying WP themes, so I apologize if this is an obvious one. I’ve setup a child theme correctly for Enfold (style.css) and it works great to override some things. However it doesn’t seem to override all the .css files that come with the Enfold package…
For example I tried to edit the positioning of the logo. If I target the logo in my style.css and change the margins, it does nothing. If I do the exact same thing in layout.css it does what I want it to do.
Does this have to do with the order in which enfold calls up the stylesheets? If so, is there a way I can change this so the child stylesheet comes up last?

after updating to Enfold 1.5.1 the problem with the pages overview persists. My hoster checked log files and confirmed, server errors are not produced serverside, but from a WP scipt. Since i do not know any better, i have to trust him. Following his advice, i checked the pages overview loading with http live headers, that is the log:

Hi, I’ve activated some extra plugins, such as the WP Event Calendar at CodeCanyon:

It seems this adds a shortcode to the editor so I can place it anywhere in the page, yet I still only see the Enfold standard shortcodes. Is there a way to make them visible, or will it just never work?
I really need to add such plugins to my site.
I have Enfold version 1.5. At the moment I can’t get my custom widgets to display in the sidebar of any page. I know someone else has posted this as an issue and I will follow that thread. However, I’m also trying to figure out how to place a custom widget on a page. For example:

Is there a way to do this either with a shortcode or in the advanced layout editor? This functionality worked with the Eunoia theme.

I don’t see anything that says “Enfold” and I don’t seem to have a “Responsive Header Main Menu” dropdown. Thanks a ton for the option, btw!

Terribly sorry for the delay, my mistake.
I looked at your images but they really don’t tell me what code to manipulate. Instead lets take a look at the theme demo site kriesi.at/themes/enfold (your site would be een better since otherwise I would have to rebuild your entire site and with this theme there is always more than one way to make something.
It looks like you are showing the border of the main content area with the header area on top and with the footer area on the bottom. And the last image shows a fatter bottom border. Alright. So you want
1) bottom line to be lighter OR have a drop shadow that comes on top of the footer in order to put footer in back. I can make the line any color you want but as to whether the effect you are looking for is achieved I don’t know (since I am not sure what you are trying to do, sorry)

}Please take a look at the css above (add to /css/custom.css) to lighten bottom line. If you want it lighter, change the .56 lower as 0 is completely transparent and 1 is fully visible.
2) There really is no way to shorten the line under the header since its the header border that runs all the way across on top and below. It can be removed and in its place could be placed something else , a smaller container for instance whose width can be controlled, but no way to make only a portion of the header bottom border visible, and mask the rest without introducing extra elements.
3) You wrote ‘I want the footer to stretch across all the way but the line shortens for the header border.’

Hi,
Most of your images are still 600×600 being shrunk with css to 257×257. (this time first image is at correct size) You on a shared host? Low WordPress memory allocation probably. Just re-upload the images manually, it will take 15mins. Regeneration is tricky business , seems to be working less reliably lately. The theme has been made with rectangular thumbnails in mind, so something isn’t happy. Please update the theme because with so many css changes, anything i give you would become invalid after the update.

If you did not make customization to theme template files then essentially yes. If you modified the template files, you will need to port the modified code from the old to the new theme. I usually use winmerge.org app (free) to compar the entire old theme folder to new theme folder and then can see line by line the differences in case i forget.
1) download zip from themeforest.net
2) unzip and take out the second zip
3) unzip the second zip (called enfold) on your home computer
4) rename folder to enfold-new (for example)
5) using FTP connect to your website. and upload enfold-new next to the enfold theme folder currently running on your site
6) rename the enfold theme folder to enfold-old and rename enfold-new to enfold.
Sounds harder than it is, but this is the fastest and most painless way to do it with very little chance of a screwup.

Topic: Calculate font sizes
I need to change some of the font sizes which I did in the CSS field of the themes options and basically that´s fine. But I simply entered pixel dimensions whilst enfold uses both px/em values.
What I don´t get is how you calculated those values. For example for the body Enfolds defaul CSS says
font: 13px/1.65em
The reset sets the default size to 100% which is normally 16px. 13px would then equal 0.813em and not 1.65em. I´m sure I´m missing something but I don´t get what.

thanks for your always awesome support.
After the new release I notice that my contact page does not display my custom sidebar anymore.
On the contrary, it displays a list of all the dummy pages + Categories + Archive, that I guess is what comes with Enfold when you install and download the dummy data. And it does that regardless of whichever sidebar you choose in the “sidebar setting” drill down menu within the layout widget inside the contact page. Seems like it doesn’t pick up the command.
I have gone back to Appearance > Widget and double checked that my custom contact page widget was correctly set up, and it was.
Then I went to the Appearance > Menu, to make sure the custom menu where I have my site’s pages was alright, and it was.
Yet when I hit save and view the page, it still shows up all your pages, categories and archive when in the back end it says I selected the right widgets/things.

Besides, I still notice some trouble when saving my work on each page, in the sense that often it doesn’t save the first time. I need to repeat the operation twice or three times before I actually get to see the page saved. No big deal, but a bit time consuming…

PS: Actually, the original sidebar in my contact page used to show the list of my 5 pages (Home, Who We Are, What We Do, Sharing The Secrets (Blog), Contact “+” your default Portfolio and one more of your pages I can’t recall even before this strange behavior, i.e. even before your latest release. I didn’t put too much attention on it, since I thought to deal with it at a later stage, however, now that you can’t see the correct sidebar anymore in the contact page, this has become quite an issue, so I need to fix that asap.

Tbh I’m not familiar with the google maps api and I can’t assist you with detailed instructions. But probably you can add it to the map print code in wp-contentthemesenfoldframeworkphpclass-framework-widgets.php – open up the file and search for
function avia_printmap($lat, $lng, $zoom, $type, $content, $directionsto) {below this line you’ll find the google maps javascript code and there you should be able to insert your custom styling code, etc.

Did you try the new “Slide Out” menu? Go to Enfold > Header and select the “Slide Out menu” from the “Responsive Header Main Menu” dropdown.

Please use ftp to install the theme. Connect Filezilla (or any other ftp client) to your server and navigate to wp-content/themes/. Then delete the existing enfold folder (and if necessary a folder called _MACOSX) and upload the uncompressed Enfold theme folder (you need to extract it from the themeforest zip file) into the wp-content/themes/ folder.

Depending on your coding skills I’d recommend to hire a freelancer for this task. If you just want to add a hover effect to image links add the “lightbox” class to the link. You can use it like:

Hi and thanks for the answer.
I´m not interested in translating every word of the theme but all the words in english that the spanish users will read andt are written in english.
For example. When a sapnish user want to search something and click in the search button, the word that appears is “search, not “buscar” that is the word in spanish.
My english is medium and I don´t have problems with the english of the theme but spanish people is not like me.
I found the method to translate every word using CodeStyling Localization and creating a file I can edit. The problem is that I have to search every word that appears in english and translate manually. Is not a big problem but I would like to know if there is a file yet translated into my language (will earn much time)
