A google map shortcode would be great. A custom widget area is OK for a contact page and sidebars, but if you need to include a map on 50+ portfolio items it gets a bit messy.

I’ve searched the forum, watched a couple of your videos and looked at the support documentation that came with the Enfold theme, but I still can’t find the answer to my question regarding alternate content.
I am wondering how to apply the alternate content settings to a page.
For example, if I divide a page into:
2/3 and 1/3 layout
How do I apply the “Main Content” settings to the 2/3 page column and
“Alternate Content” settings to the 1/3 page column.
What I would like to achieve is to have:
Left column 2/3 to be white background with black writing
Right column 1/3 to be red background with white writing.
I understand that I can set the colours in the theme styling. But I am unclear how I actually apply the styling to say, the right side of a page.

That is why Kriesi included the dummy data JKFC! For giving you a quick base to build your site on without having to come up with ever detail from scratch if you don’t want to :)

im just trying to get a sidebar widget on the new enfold theme (just swapped over from replete) and the main home page loads
with the sidebar only on the lower half and not at the top starting next to the products section?
what am i doing wrong that can be corrected

Okay, I was able to fix the thumbnails. The problem was that I did not have the Graphics Draw library on my server. I installed it, regenerated thumbnails, and they now look fine. I also found that featured images crop correctly for grid on some but not all of the custom preview image sizes in blog settings – I’m using portfolio-small and that works for me.

On the Enfold theme, this 1030×284 image is supposed to crop to 1030×360 and scale to a left aligned preview image, with the ability to expand it to its full size. My featured image does not crop to 1030×360 and instead only scales with a right alignment.

It also does this when I set the blog post format to “Gallery”. If I don’t set the blog post format to “Gallery,” the created gallery scales correctly to its settings in the blog post itself. If I do set it to Gallery, it right aligns and squishes it smaller than its settings in the preview.

Thanks for the quick response. That indeed sounds complexer then I thought it would be;). Are the sermon and event Calender plugins connected to the avia theme in incarnation? If so, is it maybe possible to just get that part?

Hi Jelle,
You would need to have a freelance developer integrate the functionality from Incarnation into Enfold. The main thing is just using the Events Calendar plugin which is what Incarnation is using and then getting the countdown if you wanted it as well.
Incarnation however has not been updated to work with the most recent version of the plugin so it isn’t quite as easy as just looking at the code from one or copying over functions at this point.

You can verify it has been increase by viewing the source of your site and looking at the snippet that looks like this:

Topic: Custom CSS with Child Theme
I need a clarification. I have been using custom.css for custom css (duh), but where should custom css be put if I use a child theme?
does it work correctly if I add it to enfold-child / style.css, or does custom.css in the parent theme get replaced if I create enfold-child / css / customn.css?
What is the best practice?

That solution could work to fix thumbnails, but it does not fix the fact that ALL featured images squish. Making all blog images squares also defeats the entire purpose. I don’t want my featured image to always be a square. I want large, dynamic images to go above my blog posts as featured in the Enfold theme. That’s why I bought it.
If that is not clear enough, look at what happens when I make a gallery. I used the exact same large images from your website, regenerated thumbnails, and used this shortcode:

I’m using a slider plugin called Royal Slider to create the post slider underneath the “Recent Blog Posts” section.
You can see on my main site here (www.vineyardblue.org) I use the same plugin with a different Theme and it appears fine so I feel like it might be an issue with Enfold.

Another question about buttons styling. I noticed that you have 2 different styles in enfold:
– The generated with shortcodes (with gradients)
– The used in contact forms and in the shop – Flat
I prefer the flat and I don’t want to mix styles, how can I use that with shortcodes or with the layout builder?

It may be possible theoretically but can’t tell from a cursory look. At the moment IMO such a customization would be outside the scope of the support team, however you should definately add this to Enfold Feature Request List – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-feature-requests – and since you actually have code as opposed to all other suggestions, I am certain that Kriesi will know exactly how it fits into his schedule of enhancements.

I’m using the (great) Enfold theme and when I enter to 1 page to edit the advance builder items it gets with the “clock” thinking and I can’t access to the page info to edit….!
I happened with the homepage preset page and with a new one i was try to set up.

You need to create media queries for this type of situation whereby on different screen sizes, the css that affects the area changes to make objects conform to the new screen size.

Topic: One Pager Website Help
Is there any documentation already on building a one pager site? I would like a couple parts to work like this example http://www.google.com/nexus/7/index.html
Where there is an image area in the background and I can put text on top. For the content areas I am thinking I could use the 1/2 1/2 boxes and that should be no problem. Just stuck on how to add those image sections in between the content sections.
Another question would be: is there a way to set the menu up when clicked it would go to a specific section on the page?
And, that arrow on the bottom right of the example site http://www.google.com/nexus/7/index.html when you scroll down the arrow points down and if you click it you will be taken to the next section and then when you get to the bottom it changes to the up arrow. Is that a feature in Enfold?

I just saw your reply and placed your CSS in the quick CSS, thanks! As soon as I am adding a new blogpost, I will write back here in case the issue is coming up again.
Long ago I turned to Elance to find reputable freelance developers, but despite the awesome reviews some of the top ones had and the super money they charged, I got burned more than once, hence I am bit frustrated and don’t have that much time anymore to spend in looking for a reliable developer. So I am forced to do everything myself (which I don’t love because I’d rather spend time doing other things) and I am not tech savvy, so you can kind of imagine how I usually feel everytime I have to put my hands on the site.
You did a great job when you worked around a couple of issues on my site, however your fix were all gone once the new update of Enfold was released. So I was back to the beginning.
Also, you told me you noticed that my site is not indexed at all, so whatever appealing the site is, it’s kind of useless if nobody finds it! And I am running around in circles to try and understand how to rank it… working with Yoast and SeoPressor plugins, they seemed to give me great feedback, yet I can’t find my blogposts or pages anywhere in Google… :-(

So I’ve looked around the forum quite a bit, and I still can’t seem to come up with a solution. I’m trying to add a custom font to my website, it’s called “078MKMC_.ttf”, and my website is http://www.brooklynhouserestaurant.com
I created a folder called “fonts” with my .ttf file, uploaded it to the server, edited custom.css to include:

Nothing happens. I’ve set Enfold > Styling > to no custom font, nothing seems to change. I plan on using this font for the menu and all the content, am I missing something here? I’ve also tried adding this to the QuickCSS, nothing happens.
I also tried a plugin that was supposed to upload fonts for me, “WordPress Font Uploader Free”, and that didn’t make any difference either.
Any suggestions?

I’m setting up Enfold on my blog, and it’ll take me a while to get featured images for all the posts. How can I temporarily remove them, from the main page, single page, latest posts widget, You Might Also Like, etc.? Basically, I just want to turn off featured images until I can spend the time adding them.
Related: is there any way to apply the same featured image to all the posts in a category? If so, then I could do a mass apply, and wouldn’t have to turn them off.
