I’ve just tried a test with a youtube video too, nothing else on the page other than a colour section with a Youtube video background. Tried with multiple test videos, none seem to play.
Recently someone asked in another thread about a shortcode for ‘basic’ boxes, and this is something I think would be really useful as a ‘general’ container type to support other content.
It seems to me the best solution would probably be to have some more options for the ‘promo box‘ shortcode as at present that is is quite plain. Here is a good example of the kind of styling I’d like to see supported:
Also, that same theme has some really nice variations on the Icon Box type too.
@dalen550 Although the site you mentioned is using a different theme (I did consider that one before I bought Enfold) you could do a similar look just using regular images and use the CSS animations to have them animate as they appear. Sure it wouldn’t have the rollovers, but it would still be pretty cool.
Looks fine here, tried on mac and ipad
• Possibility to add classes to Layout Elements
+1
Edit (Dude): Already supported – see: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/custom-css-class/#post-169149Err, that only applies to *content* elements, not the *layout* ones. What I’d like to see would be custom classes for the columns etc.
How’s that Monday working out? ;-)
@melonmelon thanks :-)
Mine’s really pretty basic compared to some of the awesome sites in this thread, but here’s the work-in-progress site I made for my martial arts school:
January 13, 2014 at 1:15 pm in reply to: Mobile issues with header buttons, layer slider and menu #208909Personally I’d hide the layer slider on phones anyway. They get annoying really quick if they’re in the way of content on a small device..
Fixed classes for Avia-Layout-Elements and Widget-Areas would be awesome..
If we could just add our own custom CSS ID to the layout elements as we can with the content ones that would be a massive bonus for styling.
+1 on the small icon lists
You’re welcome. Always happy to help if I spot a simple one whilst browsing :-)
Try using the !important tag on each line, i.e.
.avia_message_box { margin: 10px 0 !important; padding: 10px !important; }
That will prevent any later selectors overwriting it.
Closeable Notification Boxes:
i.e. http://artbees.net/themes/jupiter-demo/shortcodes/notifications/
Need to be able to enter a custom CSS class field for all layout elements as we can for content elements.
also, how about the ability to place a colour section inside another element, or better still have a content element which is a container with styling options such as colour / border / shadows
i.e. http://artbees.net/themes/jupiter-demo/shortcodes/custom-callout-boxes/More options for images, such as borders and captions:

You’ll need to update the database using a migration tool.
Try something like this: WP MIGRATE DB
Yes, I see the same thing, but I think you’ll find that is because the ‘table’ is not in fact an HTML table in the normal sense. The items are actually lists, each one within a separate column DIV so there is actually no connection between the rows on each column.
To ensure they are all the same height you’ll either need to ensure you have the same number of text rows in each, or set a fixed height for the
- elements in the table cells with CSS.
Hey @MBAM, that looks really nice.
One suggestion though, in your header sliders you’ve used PNGs for the background images, and they’re pretty big so they load rather slowly. i was waiting for the header to load on all your pages.
One of those 700kb PNGs saved as a jpg would come in at about 70kb with no discernible loss of quality and it would load significantly faster.
+2 for the same header as this site. That would be perfect for my personal site I’m currently noodling around with.
Hey @Swarez, nice site, and some awesome artwork there too.
Coincidence of the day – I’m in Dursley.. ;-)
mine is working perfectly with chrome but not with the latest mavericks safari
…
the sample page http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/shortcodes/masonry-gallery/ do not work with safari 7I have Mavericks and the latest Safari and it’s working fine for me.
October 22, 2013 at 2:36 pm in reply to: Question about changing the dividers that divide content area's #179087Can’t you just add a bit of CSS to style your HR element?
Something like this (from CSS tricks)
hr { border : 0; height : 16px; background : url(hr.png) 50% 0 repeat-x; margin : 1em 0; }

It would be great if there was a proper shortcode to style a whole list this way rather than having to look up the icons reference manually..
I’m really liking how well-thought-out the masonry elements were (I’m not surprised Kriesi nailed it yet again though), but they have prompted me to suggest going back and improving some of the older elements at some point soon.
…
so it might be a good idea to go back and review the design of some older elements with fresh eyes.Whilst I agree with the fact some of the original elements now seem a bit less refined, the tricky part would be updating them without breaking any of the thousands of sites already using Enfold… I’m still developing mine though so personally I’d welcome some updates and additional features for older elements!
Great work with the Masonry layouts in 2.4, I think it’s time to retire Flashlight and buy another Enfold license for my photography site now too :-)
Couple of requests:
- Ability to use the Layer Slider other than full width. i.e. inside a layout element
- Closeable notification boxes so we can put up notices or alerts which can be dismissed once read. These are pretty universal now and I’d really rather not use a plug-in for such a simple thing.
- Options dialog for layout elements to allow us to add custom CSS class to any individual element, not just to full width sections
In the main enfold options under ‘General Settings’ the first option is ‘Responsive Layout’. Select the ‘Fixed Layout’ option from the dropdown list.
Hey, any chance of updating that second post in the thread to collate the suggestions into one post? Makes it easier to see if other people are interested in the same thing..
As mentioned before by artistic24459: Before/after image effect would be superb!
+1, here’s a good example: http://3clicks.bringthepixel.com/shortcodes/media/before-after/
Animated number counters, i.e.: http://3clicks.bringthepixel.com/shortcodes/other/number/
5) Have the color section work on pages that are not full width.
+1 for the ability to use coloured sections within *any* layout container (or preferably to be able to add custom CSS to all layout containers so we can target containers to change colour padding etc.)
