I didn’t get the update notice in WP admin either, says I am already updated.
I don’t think we should have to FTP the update, the purpose of the Theme Options is to just install the new update as is the case with other themes. Why would it be safer to FTP the theme, when FTP itself can be vulnerable.
I don’t think asking questions is being ” disrespectful” in any way.
Lets be realistic instead to improve the product.I would appreciate the Change Log to see if there are any bugs in the new update, before I go to the trouble of FTP’ing the theme which could be futile in the end.
For instance, was the Layerslider plugin code updated also? Was the front page video fixed to actually work? Was the mobile menu fixed? I’ve been waiting for this for months.Questions resolve problems.
1) Yep, confirmed The Update screwed up my 3 YouTube videos, 2 of which are auto play, which do not auto play any more.
2) Also the Home Page URL now shows: http://www.mysite.com/#top
Nice work Kreisi.
3) Also, on mobile Phone – parts of the theme’s images are missing as they were before the update.
Really nice update.
Sorry I bought this theme.September 8, 2017 at 11:20 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #849759Dear Rikard: I do not want to mess with code, I shouldn’t have to do that to fix the lack of an update for a plugin coded, in to the theme.
We’ve discussed this for a very long time now, over 6 months – this started in January or in 2016. I am going to look for another theme.
No response necessary. My mobile display is a mess, images not showing, menu’s not working, sizes of images are either too big or too small.
The last update was a no go.September 7, 2017 at 11:07 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #849307I agree, Greg, I have the same Wordfence warnings on my site and this plugin Layerslider should be removed entirely from the theme code, for a true fix. It should be an option to the buyer, to install it or not. I am looking at another theme that has plugins as an “Option” which is not coded into the theme. It’s been over a month and a half for a fix for this.
Same here, my mobile menu didn’t show at first now it shows but when clicked does not open.
The video on the front page is reduced to a sliver – just a slice and other elements on the front page don’t show at all.
Mobile search does not work, its a big mess on mobile.Um. I updated to version 4.1.1 and expected the Layer Slider problem to be fixed.
Sadly, its not. I am still showing Layer Slider needs an update.
Current version with Enfold is 4.1.1 the latest version required is 6.5.5
Why, oh why isn’t this fixed.
Wordpress still shows a plugin needs an update.June 23, 2017 at 5:59 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #812220June 23, 2017 I got the same warning from Wordfence Security – also. Still waiting for this update which was released June 11th by Layerslider.

Dear torndownunit:
I never stated Kreisi hasn’t addressed a security issue other than the Contact Form, but then again its only been 3 years using this theme and I don’t scour the forum for issues.
Your needs may be different than mine, so lets agree to disagree on child themes, not everyone
needs them. The key is the solution to either remove or allow an option to use Layerslider. Many people don’t use it, don’t use Woo Commerce etc. Subjecting all users to the same LS issue is just not productive.
YOUR opinion of support is yours. End of discussion.
Freepixelweb: I am searching for other solutions elsewhere also. I’m outta here.

Dear torndownunit, I’ve been working with wordpress themes since 2007, many themes and many plugins and have never run into this situation on a theme especially a paid theme. I respect your point of view on security, but in this day and age of hacking attempts (millions per day) I don’t like any risks if they can be avoided, hence I use a very good security plugin. I don’t use plugins that developers don’t update period. I don’t even use Layerslider at all.I am not being critical either, I am looking for solutions to this problem but you are correct – the updates are slow in coming and frustrating when people are told to create child themes, or mess with php or coding ourselves. We shouldn’t have to code anything in my humble opinion, I’ve got work and better things to do than that.
I have also had issues with the contact form on this theme, so I had to remove it completely which is not desirable either.

dear memsmaximus: I don’t wish to have to create a child theme, nor add any code to solve this problem. Its not up to customers to fix issues with 3rd party plugin updates.Thank you torndownunit -you are right, security is a problem with a missing update of the plugin exposing enfold to that risk is not acceptable. If my security plugin indicates its needs an update-
then it needs an update. Waiting a month or more for an update is not acceptable. The last time this happened, even the paid Layerslider customers on their forum were having issues with their own update. So the suggestion that we purchase Layerslider to receive their
updates, that’s not a solution either.I see the solution as this:
1) Kriesi – when we download the theme make it optional to download the Layerslider plugin, don’t wire it into the theme code. Thanks for listening.June 11, 2017 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #806658Hello Mike:
I do not want, need or use the plugin Layer Slider. Therefore the response is of no use, I thought my comment made that clear by asking “to have the option to remove it completely”. Waiting for updates to fix this problem cause Kriesi’s staff and his customers a lot of headaches which can be avoided.
June 11, 2017 at 7:20 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #806622June 11th, 2017 There is another update for Layerslider again, the current version in Enfold is 6.4.0
The New Version from Layerslider is 6.5.0 and there is no way to update it. The theme developers must update the theme again. If possible, it would be nice to have an option for this plugin to remove it
completely or else we will go through this problem over and over again. Thanks.Did a security scan today, plugin LayerSlider still needs an update.
Enfold Theme has integrated Layerslider
The New version of Layerslider Plugin is 6.3.0 is required.
Current Enfold Version 4.0.5 didn’t help fix the issue.
Layerslider Version Installed is: 6.2.2 need Version 6.4.0
Security Scan Results Show Severity as: CriticalNo I don’t want to do coding to remove this warning.
No I don’t want insecure plugins that are integrated BUT not updated in my theme.I am forced to go and buy another theme, this is unacceptable.
May 6, 2017 at 4:30 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #788854It’s been about a month now, the first update by Enfold did not solve the problem with the Layerslider plugin and I am still getting warnings. Is there any news on when we can expect an update that either allows an option on Layerslider plugin (for those of us who don’t need it) and or an update that updates the plugin on an automatic basis that doesn’t cause breaking or disturbing the theme? Would appreciate a response from the developer.
April 7, 2017 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #774216April 7, 2017 Just confirming that Layerslider needs another updated again, to Version 6.3.0.
That’s why we are getting the notice again from WordPress and from Wordfence.April 6, 2017 at 3:45 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #773272April 6, 2017
Confirming that WordPress indicates there is a Plugin Update again.
It’s back. Hoping for a solution to this problem soon. Thanks.April 3, 2017 at 2:27 am in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #770833April 2, 2017 Installed the latest Enfold Theme 4.04 update, it worked.
Ran a scan on Wordfence and it ran without problems, no alerts to update Layerslider -the warning went away from WordPress.
All is good again. Thanks to Kreisi and his developers who fixed this for all of us. Thank you.March 29, 2017 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Please read – Regarding Wordfence LayerSlider warning on Enfold 4.0.3 #769051March 29, 2017 Even after updating the Enfold Theme, this message still shows
an update is needed from Layerslider, same problem still existsWordpress 4.7.3
Enfold theme Version 4.0.4Wordpress is still showing a red dot in admin that a plugin needs an update
Layerslider page shows an Update is still available at this time from 6.2.0 to 6.2.2. But its not accessible
to update. Still waiting for a fix on this.Hi Stevo: I updated Wordfence also this morning, there were no issues other than the warning that Layer Slider needed an update. I also use the Enfold Theme.
Wordpress also has a dot for Plugins showing on the left hand column.
You are right, the Layer Slider does not appear in the Plugins sections ( I don’t know why it doesn’t)
so no one can update it.
LayerSlider Support Forum shows even their paid customers are having difficulty trying to update the Layer Sldier Plugin, so its not just us who have, the plugin coded into the Enfold theme – with no way of updating it.
That’s all I got so far. We’re hanging on waiting for Kreisi to updated the Layer Slider Plugin which I believe he is working on right now. Thanks for your input.Thank you Yigit – that is the most sensible answer I’ve received yet. There should be an “Options Button” on the demo content installs which could have avoided this problem, this is a suggestion. I am not a coder, so I don’t want to mess with php, (as probably 90% of Kriesi customers) so it would be better to offer it as an option, not a coded part of the theme. That is all I am saying.
As far as the alerts from Wordfence Security Plugin, I am glad they alert us to issues with Updates, its part of good security practices to Update WordPress, Plugins and Themes as soon as they are available.
Let’s hope the update comes soon.March 23, 2017
Thank you Basilis for your update and I do hope this fix is in Kresi’s hands
to fix it.
Your suggestion to buy Layer Slider is not a fix.I see from the support tickets over at Kreatura, who is the developer
of Layer Slider on Envato, that there own customers are asking
for a fix for this update problem.Wordpress uses changelogs to notify website owners that there is an Update,
so does Wordfence Security Plugin, so there is an update, its just not installed
and/or working and/or available to Kriesi’s customers. It appears the plugin is not updating for their own paid customers
see their support tickets here:
https://kreatura.ticksy.com/ticket/1109231/
We will wait for the update to be completed by Kreisi, hopefully very soon.Thank you for your assistance.
There are many customers here that purchased the Enfold Theme, including me.
The WordFence security plugin is alerting us that the Code Canyon Layer Slider Plugin requires an update.
It is not up to the security plugin to fix this, they are alerting us that, there is a problem.Since we purchased the Enfold Theme with the Code Canyon Layer Slider as part of the theme, it needs to be corrected by Kriesi and the developer of the Layer Slider and whatever arrangements he made with the Layer Slider developer for updates.
Right now, I cannot update it at all. That option is not available in the theme itself. Now, since we have this Layer Slider as part of the theme, YOU (Kresi) should have given customers the option to remove it – if it is not necessary and if it is necessary.
If it is necessary, for the theme to function, there has to be an update for that slider for security purposes – and that comes from only you. (meaning if we remove the slider files, will that break the site, we don’t know).
Since you are selling a product with someone else’s product – your arrangements should be solid enough to include updates to every part of the theme you are selling. If this is not the case, then you should instruct the customer up front on your sales page with ENVATO and tell people that.
Further, I don’t need it myself but I would like to know how and where the slider is so I can remove it myself.
This would be the best solution to this problem as it will only get worse as time goes on.
Right now, the slider needs an update and that is critical to the security of the theme and our websites.March 22, 2017 Just got a security scan result saying LayerSlider is hacked. This file shows up:
http://codecanyon.net/item/layerslider-wp-the-wordpress-parallax-slider/1362246/changelog
The latest version is 6.2.0 as it says in wordpress admin.
I have version is 6.1.6 installed and yes I updated the theme as of today which is 4.0.3Question:
1 Did this update fix the security problem with LayerSlider or no?2 As it is an integrated part of the Enfold Theme, how do we fix this?
thanks.I agree, the mobile page is not adjusting so it shows the text in a text block. I don’t know how to adjust it either.
I’ve been dealing with spam emails for almost one year. Hackers are now using our site to send spam to other seedy spam sites around the world. I had to get rid of the contact form entirely, not optimal in my view. This hacking business has gotten way out of hand. I now have 3 security plugins securing the website, in a small town for a small business. Security is now a dream. WordPress is entirely hackable and a target for criminal minded idiots.
Yes, server space was due to a large uploaded video, which was removed. We’re ok now on that.
Image size reduce the size of thumbnails to what size? I did a test in Google Page speed and they recommended reducing image
sizes, but to what size -is needed, I don’t know. I haven’t touched php code before.3) Yes am using color sections, I removed the single line under each section were necessary.
Thanks, Elliot very much.July 10, 2015 I am having the same issue: 4 top navigation items are in white, 3 are in the proper color. Also, when you open the front page the video is black, then it finally appears some time later. I also wanted 2 items under Products. One did not appear then I got both to appear – now one is in larger font than the other? I must be doing something wrong. Can use some help.
