  • Alright sorry, then I misunderstood it.
    You are saying that Enfold is not ready for WP 5.0, that’s your opinion and that’s fine. I just have a different opinion on that and think it works pretty good already with 5.0.

    in reply to: Cannot Update Enfold to 4.5.1 #1042269

    Hi

    How exactly did you try to update the theme via file manager?
    Did you rename the Enfold 4.5.1 folder to “enfold-new” (for example) and then uploaded it to the themes directory? Afterwards you can rename the existing Enfold folder to “enfold-old” and remove the “-new” from the new Enfold folder.

    This should work. Oh and make sure you are using a child theme in order to prevent any loss of CSS changes etc.
    Have you tried that?

    Best and I hope this helps,
    Michael

    Salut Clémentine

    Which Enfold version are you currently using? 4.5 or 4.4.1?

    Edit:

    L’URL fournie n’est pas valide.

    Looks like you are using Enfold 4.4.1. In this case you have to update via FTP. Do you know how to do that?

    Thanks and best
    Michael

    Hi Dieter

    I don’t want to put myself on any side here, but please keep in mind that you do not have to update to WordPress 5.0. It is optional. Just can also still stick to WP 4.9.8 if you prefer to.
    Almost everybody got very surprised last Tuesday when WP 5.0 got announced and published yesterday. So to me it sounds to easy to just blame Kriesi here.

    In addition, I am convinced that the Kriesi guys working on Enfold are doing a great job and are working very hard in order to make the theme even better.

    Just curious: Do you actually have some other issues with WP 5.0 in combination with Enfold 4.5.1?

    Hi

    In order to get Enfold 4.5 working properly the best is to update manually via FTP.
    Please check my extensive step by step guide here:

    in reply to: Can't remove default editor #1042262

    Hi Poirot

    Are you using WP 5.0 already or still 4.9.8?

    In case you are using 5.0 already I recommend removing the classic editor plugin (solved it for me) so you have Gutenberg and the Avia layout builder from Enfold side by side.

    Michael

    Hi

    Do you have the classic editor plugin installed by any chance?
    If yes, disabling it solved the issue for me. The result is that you have Gutenberg and the Avia layout builder working side by side.

    in reply to: Enfold Health Demo Font Letter No Longer Available? #1042260

    Hi

    Do you remember or see in the backend which font it was?
    If it is a Google font you can integrate it again.

    Could you maybe post the link here so I can take a look at it?

    Hi Amajjika

    In your case I am guessing the combination of Enfold 4.4.1 and WordPress 4.8.1 (both outdated) may cause these error messages.
    Why has the website been down for about 24 hours? Did you update or change anything and it happened afterwards?

    Hi Anna

    Are you using Enfold version 4.5.1. in combination with WP 5.0?
    And could you maybe post a screenshot to show how it currently looks like?

    Thanks and best regards

    in reply to: Enfold WordPress 5.0 #1042255

    Hi Brian

    You can add the following code to wp-config.php to disable all automatic WordPress updates:
    define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', false );

    Or, maybe easier to manage, you can use this plugin (have not tried it yet but looks ok):
    // https://wordpress.org/plugins/stops-core-theme-and-plugin-updates

    Hi WebbR

    Just wondering:
    Why can’t your clients just work with the Avia Layout Builder?
    I would say it does not matter if there is the old WYSIWYG editor or Gutenberg, does it?

    Oh and about this one:

    If the Classic Editor Plugin is disabled everything works fine.

    -> Partly agree. I had some issues with text blocks when I edited them. Saving and updating a page and then manually removed the code which was generated there magically. Afterwards it was fine but that something weird there I experienced.

    Hi Amajjika

    I am only a participant here as well but I got some questions coming up while reading your post:
    a) Since when has the website been stuck in maintenance mode?
    b) Which plugin are you referring to?
    c) Which PHP version is the server running on?
    d) Which Enfold version are you using? 4.5.1?
    e) Are you using a child theme?

    Without any detailed information it will not be possible for anybody here to help you.

    in reply to: Can't add content after updates #1042093

    Hi WebbR

    Hm, I am not sure if I understand what you mean.
    If you disable classic editor (the plugin) you can choose between Gutenberg and the Enfold layout editor.

    Or do you mean something else?

    Michael

    Hi Gian

    Plus, the Advanced Layout Editor button doesn’t work.
    Do you have the classic editor plugin enabled by any chance? If yes, please disable/remove it. This solved the issue for me and made the Enfold editor working side by side with Gutenberg, so you can choose which one you would like to use.

    Michael

    Just had a very similar issue with the text block.
    A bit of a hack, but it works.

    Thanks a lot @Guenni007!

    in reply to: WordPress new update WTF? #1042069

    Hi guys

    @Stevo: I thought exactly the same and pre-installed the classic editor plugin for all the websites I have created with Enfold.
    Just figured out that classic editor actually is the problem with Enfold 4.5.1 when it comes to creating new pages or posts.

    Solution for me
    WP 5.0, Enfold 4.5.1 and remove classic editor plugin. This makes you choose between Gutenberg and the Enfold ALB (advanced layout builder by Kriesi).

    in reply to: Testimonials Slider Speed #1041253

    Hi Sarah

    Good question. I just looked into it and discovered that there is the following HTML parameter which says one slide stays for 5 seconds until it changes to the next testimonial:
    data-interval="5"
    Unfortunately I don’t know how to change that either. I guess this must be changed in a PHP file of the theme itself and then used within your child theme (I hope you use one).

    in reply to: Update enfold site – License #1041238

    Hi clpont

    Can you please describe in detail which steps you took when updating via FTP?
    I did the update via FTP several times and it worked perfectly.

    Did you delete the existing Enfold folder in the themes folder and uploaded the new Enfold folder with version 4.5 in it afterwards?

    in reply to: mobile menu color settings #1040455

    Hey guys

    It might be something slightly different, but I also wanted to change the color of the inactive menu items for the mobile menu.
    I managed to do it by using the following code, took me a while to actually figure out what works. Of course values such as max-width and colors may be adjusted for your needs. This is just a working example:

    @media only screen and (max-width: 995px) {
    .main_menu .current-menu-item span.avia-menu-text {
    color: #bcdc04 !important;
    }
    .avia-menu-text {
    color: #343333 !important;
    }
    }

    Just wanted to share it here as this topic seems still unresolved.

    Cheers
    Michael

    in reply to: Individual scroll down arrow #1040374

    Hi Rikard

    I actually removed the little CSS snippet from above and added the following jQuery to functions.php instead:

    // Function to let the arrow down disappear after click or on scroll
    add_action('wp_footer', 'ava_disappear_after_click_script', 9999);
    function ava_disappear_after_click_script() {
        ?>
    <script>
    $(document).ready(function(){
        $(".scroll-down-disappear").click(function(){
            $("a").addClass("scroll-down-disappear");
    		$("#av-icon-char-michael").hide();
        });
    	$(window).scroll(function() {
        if ($(this).scrollTop() > 0) { // can be whatever, 0 refers to the top space you allow
            $("#av-icon-char-michael").hide(); // Hide your element
        }
    	});
    })(jQuery);

    </script>
        <?php
    }

    ?>

    This is a nice workaround and works like a charm for me.

    Best and thanks
    Michael

    in reply to: Individual scroll down arrow #1039971

    Hi

    Currently looking for a solution for the exact same issue. Well, almost – my arrow down would be for a color section, but I guess the behaviour is the same.

    So I found this helpful resource:
    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/icon

    Unfortunately the troubleshooting section does not help me, as the following code (new icon) I want to use for the scroll down arrow just makes it disappear for some reason:

    #top .scroll-down-link {
    content:"\e800";
    font-family: 'entypo-fontello';
    position: absolute;
    left: 0;
    }

    Do you know why that happens Rikard? Has this code changed in the meantime?

    Thank you very much and best regards
    Michael

    in reply to: Half transparent column: image should not be transparent #1039908

    Hi Rikard

    I was able to solve it in the meantime with some help. This is what I changed:

    .column-white-background {
    background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.7);
    color: black;
    padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px;
    }

    Please close this thread now.

    Best,
    Michael

    in reply to: Half transparent column: image should not be transparent #1039260

    Added the following CSS now:

    .column-white-background {
        background: white;
        opacity: 0.7;
        color: black;
        padding: 15px 15px 15px 15px;
        position: static !important;
        z-index: -1 !important;
    }
    .not-transparent-image {
        z-index: 5 !important;
        position: static !important;
    }

    Still does not work for some reason, I have no clue what is wrong…
