Glad we could help :)
Let us know if you have any other questions or issues.
I see what you mean now. Yes it does inherit the site wide link color once it becomes a link. So you want need to target it directly in order to change the color or wrap the icon shortcode in a url from the Text tab instead of adding the link directly to the icon. Eg:
<a href="http://google.com">
[av_font_icon color="#606060" icon="65" size="40px" position="left" link="" linktarget="no"]
</a>Regards,
Devin
Make sure it is also checked in the screen options and if it is, make sure you are using the most recent version of the theme files (1.8.2 today).

I’ve never been able to track down what causes it to get turned off sometimes but it does tend to happen for some users at seemingly random times.

Hi Ray,
I made a video walkthrough using FTP and free software to help out with just that: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/64927356
Its not as one-click as uploading through the wordpress admin but its a really good idea to get comfortable with the process as it gives you more control over updates and understanding how wordpress works.
Otherwise yes, you would just upload the enfold.zip folder using the wordpress admin interface.

Switching on the fly without saving doesn’t cause you to lose anything. Its only after saving that the other content is cleared out.
With that in mind I can’t really see a point where you would want to jump between two completely different versions of the same page but I’ll tag the topic for Kriesi as he is the final word on these things.
In the mean time however I’ll close the topic as I don’t want to it really turn into a deep back and forth on the issue.
Hi Siobhan,
Unfortunately joining the footer widget sections isn’t easily doable. Since its using the grid and grid margins for the layout there you would need to modify those values and then do the same for all responsive changes as well (which gets a bit recursive and tends to add a lot of bug fixes).
For the social icons, you can just remove the :hover from each yes. Make sure to remove that second bracket under that css block as its extra and isn’t required but may cause issues.

Devin
Hi seven_style,
On the portfolio item page go to the top right corner of the screen and click Screen Options. Make sure the box for Advanced Layout Editor is checked.

Requested:
Would it possible to add in the "form element type" the choice of "uploading file".
Would be great !!!I’ll add the form idea to the Enfold feature request topic.

Hi murattemel,
We would need to see the site live to inspect the code and see whats going on.

Hi Ben,
We’ll need to see the script in place on a live site so we can inspect the code a bit.

Hi Colin,
First make sure that you are using the most up to date version of Enfold. That should be 1.8.1 or .1.8.2 if Kriesi has pushed that out when you read this.
I just tested the read more tag on my personal site and didn’t have any issues with it so as long as its added in and showing the line with the little more image it should work without issue.

Hi DigitalMedia,
The first gallery on that demo page is actually just the regular wordpress gallery (insert media>gallery) inserted into a text block.

Hi lissnerm,
Not without an outside plugin specifically designed for it. Going fullscreen usually requires the user to okay it unless you are doing some un-user friendly hacks.

Hi Siobhan,
Looking at the site now the 1px border on the bottom is showing for me. Maybe it was just a local cache issue and yours hadn’t updated yet.

Hi Chad,
1) You can change the portfolio grid option for Link Handling to Open entry on a new page which will make it so that the portfolio item doesn’t open up on that page as a lightbox.
2) I’m not sure what you mean. The :hover effects are pretty hard coded into the theme so if you wanted to switch to an on/off state from a regular hover effect it would have to be done by a freelance developer as its quite a bit beyond what we can do via support.

Devin
Hi Chris,
There isn’t really a “best size” since the theme will create re-sized thumbnail images for the various grids and columns. Starting with something like 900×600 will give you a large enough size that it will never get stretched to fit a too-large area as long as its in a column.
The demo for the ajax portfolio uses images that start at 988×642. See: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/files/2013/04/dash-iphone2.jpg . Which generates http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/files/2013/04/dash-iphone2-495×400.jpg for the three column view http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/portfolio/portfolio-ajax/ .
So starting with a large enough image size to fit the smaller uses will give you the best result but how big to start with is up to you and what you have available.
For additional reference on all the image sizes the theme creates you can view the functions.php file starting at line 63.

July 23, 2013 at 1:39 pm in reply to: Moving social media icons from Left side of header to right side #130773Hi
Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:
#top .social_bookmarks li {
float: right;
}
.sub_menu {
left: 0;
}That should be it if you are using the top sub menu for the phone number but if not we would need to see your site live to see what else would be needed.

Devin
Hi jkadauke,
No, that isn’t possible right now. You can however go to the Screen Options tab while viewing the menus manager and turn on the Classes field. Then when you expand each menu item there will be a new field where you can add a class to the menu item.
If you add noMobile to that class field the theme will not use that menu item when it switches over to the mobile menu.

Hi wcolwell,
Upgrading doesn’t change your theme settings no.
The issue with your slider is actually that the image paths are not correct. My guess is you have built the site on a temporary domain before going live and the slider image paths just need to be updated. IE, right now its trying to pull your images from something like http://www.paradisechild.com/~paradjg3/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/youslider4.jpg instead of http://www.paradisechild.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/youslider4.jpg.
Just re-building those slides pointing to the correct images should do it.

Hi marienoisette,
This is quite a bit to much to go over via support. I’ve run across a request like this freelancing quite a bit but as of now there is no single great option for wordpress.
You could look into doing something with buddypress, Wishlist member, s2member or just the membership plugin (by wpmudev). None are really exactly what you are looking for but its a good start.

Hi theroyds,
What host is this with? I’ve not had any issues installing it via ftp with something like 30 times installing on various servers.
You can try uploading the theme in groups of files (each folder in turn) in case the server is having an issue with that long of a connection. If you have not already you can see a walk through of installing via ftp in this video I did: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/64927356

Hi ElEquipoE,
This is intentional as the theme doesn’t allow you to switch on the fly from the visual editor to the Advanced Layout Editor.
So in this case there isn’t a fix to be had as its a safety measure by Kriesi to prevent issues from switching between the two.

Devin

Hi DigitalMedia,
Please do not make single topics for feature requests/suggestion. There is a dedicated topic for it here https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-feature-requests

Hi shawjared,
Not that I know of no. You could probably create one using bootstrap pretty quickly but my guess would be that most plugins are going to be a bit feature heavy and will need tweaking.
Another option is that you could use the built in lightbox plugin and add your form to an outside html page on your domain and then pull it in with the lightbox popup via an iframe.
Eg:
“To do so, simply: Create a link (). Add the rel attribute “prettyPhoto” to it (rel=”prettyPhoto”). Change the href of your link so it points to the webpage you want to open. Then add “?iframe=true” as a parameters in your HREF so prettyPhoto knows to open the content in an iframe. Then add the width and height as parameters in your HREF (&width=100&height=100). Please note that the dimensions can be percent based.”
