Hi there,
Unfortunately, you forgot the main question… How to fix the alignment & the fact it pushes the title down the column. Can you help?
Clearly the plugin doesn’t like the theme. If it cant be fixed could you tell me how the same effect could be done another way
Cheers
Hi There,
Phew! Thought I was going mad!
Menu looks great in full screen mode on my mac but looks terrible on IOS devices.
*** Here’s whats happening when responsive mode kicks in***
a) Logo doesn’t scale
b) Lines above the menu (on right) don’t turn of when the responsive menu appears – overlaps right across top
c) In some instances (namely portrait mode on ipad) I end up with both menu’s appearing at same time
d) The slide out menu now has a nasty ‘thick’ line across it (need to lose that)
Darn it…. Have I really gone and broke it dis time?!!
Cheers

Hi again…
ignore the ds. store issue as ive found a tool to disable it from happening over network connections although i was right that it does do it automatically.
so (to summarise)…
Ive set up maintenance mode using WP Maintenance Mode although im at a loss how to give everyone on your support group access. At the weekend I had one of the support guys come back to me saying I had MM on and then he didnt answer any of my queries. Not his fault but id like to get this right
Finally Nick… I really only have a few menu & footer issues left but should I split them up or just communicate them all through you? Im also aware that this iterative communication is all very public. Would it not be better to take this off public broadcast and comm on a 1 to 1 basis? Just a thought
Hi Nick,
Ive done what you ask and deleted the offending DS Store files although I wonder isnt this what a MAC would do anyway if its saving/accessing via a server thats actually PC based in its architecture. Therefore, whenever I save something via ftp is will add a DS Store file along the way? I say this as I know this is what happens when I do video work for clients who hand me PC formatted content and I save my work onto their drives it leaves a DS Store file. Its quite common for Mac users. However, if this is a concern then let me know.
Also I set up maintenance mode using WP Maintenance Mode although im at a loss how to give everyone on your support group access. At the weekend I had one of the support guys come back to me saying I had MM on and then he didnt answer any of my queries. Not his fault but id like to get this right

Works a treat. Thanks
Brilliant.
So is it trial and error as to what files I can duplicate into my child theme to work if I tweak code or is it everything other than the css. Just interested to know
Cheers as always
Andy
Hi there….
I dont know how to give you access with it on so Ive just turned it off. Im not familiar with setting up maintenance which is why ive been working locally.
Anyway, its off now.
Can you help me?
Cheers
Andy
Hi Ismael,
Nick suggested I put it on maintenance mode but as I dont know how to give you access with it on Ive just turned it off. Im not familiar with setting up maintenance which is why ive been working locally.
Anyway, its off now.
Can you help?
Big Thanks
Andy
Hiya Ismael,
I was told too by Nick!!! should I take it off so you can look at it or can you tell me how I give you access?
Cheers
Hi there,
It works if I replace the code in the master base.css file but NOT if I make a duplicate and use it in my child theme. Which im guessing will mean I will need to update it every time I update the theme?
Cheers
Hi Nick,
Well ive used a plugin (WP Maintenance), deleted the DS Store file, disabled the cache plugins and have tweaked the settings for the Simple Icon Plugin. All looking good so thanks. However, Having turned on Maintenance Mode im not sure how to give you access.
In regard to Simple Icons, the Widget forces the title and icons down the column which puts it out of horizontal alignment with the others.
I need to get support on the menu but I guess we should deal with finishing the footer & giving you access first.
Cheers

Hi there,
I second that idea as I’m trying to get my site to do exactly the same. I’ve got mine to lock but it messes up the sub nav. It also does odd stuff on the ipad in portrait mode
My site is where you can see it half working at http://www.andypeck.co.uk
Great work Kriesi

Hi there,
Cheers. Bebas works for me but I’m going to set up a class for it as I’m still using h6 across the site. Ill have a go at the code you’ve given me. Thank you
Hey Nick,
Thanks for your kind comments. Ill give these ago although I don’t understand your first comment about a maintenance plugin or the great evil comment. Ill take a look anyway. Right now my biggest nightmare is the menu but ill tackle your first suggestions and then get back to you.
Cheers big style.

Hi there dsgnerfw,
theres actually a tab in the main dashboard called ‘portfolio’… go there, and make a new portfolio item but make sure you create a ‘featured image’ which is at the bottom right of a NEW page. The featured image is the bit that appears in your portfolio grid. then add sliders, copy and anything else on that page. If you want multiple categories like PHOTOGRAPHY or VIDEO then either create them in the categories bit (still under the portfolio tab) or from within the new portfolio item you are creating (down the right hand side of the interface) Once youve created a few cats then when youve added a few portfolios items you can just tick which cat you want to assign it too. Portfolios can be assigned to multiple cats too
Hope that helps
Andy
Hi again, I actually ditched using a png in favour of using Entypo (as originally suggested) but I cant make that work using your code
Cheers
Andy
Hi there,
Sorry but I cant get this to work at all. I tried copying the base.css to my own child theme, adding !important as well as trying it in the original base.css file within Enfold. Where am I going wrong?
Ive ditch my own png image in favour of using a ‘cross’ in entypo. How can I make this work?
My URL is http://www.andypeck.co.uk
Cheers as always
Andy
Hi there,
Created a duplicate of the ‘base’ file and put it into my child folder, changed the numbers to another entypo code and it didnt work so I then changed the same lines in the main file ‘base’ in the enfold/css folder and it still didnt work
Andy
Hi there,
So it wouldn’t be possible for me to use a small single coloured png? it would need to be an Entypo font? My logo has a nice simple shape that would work well in its place.
Cheers

Hi Nick,
**** I UPLOADED IT AT LAST ****
or at least a demo with dummy content with the home page.
now…..
a) The menu is fixed but I need to create more space at the top (above menu/logo) and below (menu/log) and ensure that when I scroll up and down the page that there is enough space so the ‘moved thick & feint line” dont overlap the menu. This is whats happening at the moment.
b) The HUGE slab text under the slider works well but I somehow want the main heading ‘CREATIVE&DIVERSE’ to wrap when the screen is shrunk to mobile phone dimensions. so it reads….
CREATIVE
&
DIVERSE
but only in smallest sizes as its ok to just shrink with everything else till that pointCheers
Andy
It ok… I worked it out. I already knew it but it was playing me up and it was late.
Cheers
Cheers Nick,
yes, I was pushing my luck wasn’t I? Ill upload my site at the weekend and then go from there.
Cheers
Andy
Hi again,
A) ‘Add this’ looks ok although the reason I like ‘Simple Icons’ is because I can colour each state, make them discs and all the discs looked the same (a family). All im after is reducing the margins/padding between each icon and getting two rows to fit neatly within the column. As you say it screws up the Title at the moment so if you have any fixes I would be grateful
B) As for Flickr. I wanted to created a simple grid of 3×4 (12 icons) that were butted together with no gridlines at all and no spaces. The rollover effect would then just make each box glow (not the border edges which is usually the basic setup). I had this working on another theme using Slickr Flickr and the glow was created as java script (not miy work but the authors ogf the theme). I cant get the plugin to work at all in Enfold and I dont know how to implement java script in your theme. Could this work with ‘Awesome’ and can you suggest how I might get the effect im after
Once im uploaded after the weekend we can look at my own theme directly but at the moment im trying to do as much offline as possible.
Cheers

Oh, and looking at a2) again. I guess all that needs to happen is this newly drawn grey line needs to just switch off whilst the responsive menu is operational. The line scales up until that point so I guess it just needs a switch. Would I be right?
Cheers
Andy
Hi again Nick,
Just tried out both pieces of CSS and the line is now removed from the responsive slide out menu. Thats question ‘b’ sorted….great!
As for question ‘a’, well, im glad you get what im trying to achieve and its almost there. The line goes across the menu perfectly and ive positioned it at the top. However, two things are happening.
a1) I need the long 1px grey line to sit on a layer behind the 2px thick short line. currently, its on a layer above it.
a2) as nice as this line is, its doesn’t scale (or shorten) properly when the responsive menu appears. It just stays at the top and doesn’t scale any further.
Can I just say, to you and the others Nick… you are by far the most supportive post sales service ive ever had dealings with. You’ve actually made me excited to get this site looking exactly as I want it without expecting me to learn everything myself. Gradually, I’ve learnt more and more and its a great experience. Thank you
Hi Nick,
Ill give this a go.
Im pretty well set on my structure but there are a few teething issues (the line above menu) which you will need to see before I can expect you to help much more. I’m moving it all online this weekend and then we can review.
Ill keep tweaking and asking questions on here till the weekend and then we shall see how it looks live
Cheers
Andy
Hi there,
Talking of menu customization. in the image I supplied:
http://www.clipular.com/c?6044013=M66Ac_fn-H0sYdLewieu-vVGIMA&f=eb6d72c77f6f72f1ab09eaf9b55d3d7c
Menu questions:
a) Can I put the social media icons over to the right above the menu. Possible?
b) Can I control the colours of the social media icons, if I have to have the very top bar (after ive moved icons to the right), can I make it same color as my main menu thus making it appear as part of that menu?
b) I would like to allow it to be a fixed menu (and remain always at the top) but the ‘line’ over the menu doesnt move with the menu when stretching and the padding beneath the menu and logo is reduced too far so the slider overlaps the menu. How can I fix/increase the padding/bottom margin?
May 20, 2013 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Need a logo carousel (or a way to accomplish that behavior) with Enfold #119966Hi there,
Ive been hoping for something similar. The grid I suspect we all cant achieve easily is the 6+ columns by 2+ rows grid where you can rollover a grid box and the client logo’s (in each box) would switch between two states (usually mono to a colour). The grid box might animate out slightly, dim or in some cases flip over but regardless of which there would be a link attached to go to a URL or clients work or a page within the site.
The above is what nearly all creative/portfolio developers supply out of the box and the only way ive been able to get close with Enfold is to create a basic image grid and disable the mouse click functionality (as a photo view would be pointless – it needs to be a link)
Its crude and far from ideal but for now I think its the best option.
Cheers
Andy
