    Hi Josue, I am using
    W3 Total Cache
    Better WordPress Minify
    Wordfence Security

    #288034

Devin, now I am completely confused. As you know, I have given several support people admin access. My WordFence plug-in tells me when they have logged in. No one has ever got back to me with any issues they discovered or what they did to solve them, yet this morning my sliders are back to being responsive, like magic.

Someone found something but it appears they want to keep it a secret. Is this because everyone was blaming me for the issue?

As to a refund, Envato is not going to compensate me for the many hours I have invested in creating the sliders, but I have no need for a refund if the theme works as billed.

Hi, I’ve come across a strange problem with my site today, I first noticed it when styling options were not changing in my child theme. I tried several things and gave up, so switched back to the main enfold theme and set this backup how I wanted it using general styling (with no custom css). The theme I want is a dark version so started off with black, and modified from there, everything works fine to a point and then suddenly everything will revert to a white layout – even though these options aren’t enabled?

I was using CloudFlare for caching alongside WordFence (Falcon cache) – previously Total Cache, I thought these may be a problem so disabled all caching and tried again – same result. Removed these plugins and also disabled CloudFlare. I have also tried removing the theme and reuploading but the same issues resides?

Hopefully it is something really simple that I am missing, but I’m really not sure what else I can try besides backing everything up and starting a fresh wordpress install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi!

Maybe you need even more memory, it would be better contacting Wordfence support as this is not a theme issue after all.

    Cheers!
    Josue

    #286258

    I found it! BUT…

It is the allocated memory. I increased it to 250 Mb (somehow my wp-config was at 128mb) and now the Layersliders work and are editable.

BUT, I am not able to update the Wordfence plugin. It gives me this popular error.

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 60293120) (tried to allocate 4395608 bytes) in /home/sterling/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 693

I thought since I increased the memory it would fix this too.

    Thanks -Lynn

lol Gave me a chuckle this morning with “rip us apart”. That thought has crossed my mind several times over the last few days. It appears I am the only one suffering these issues, so I feel so “special”. NOT!

Yes, Josue is a user on the site and my WordFence tells me he has logged in several times over the last few days, but I haven’t had any response from him on the issues. If you want to be added please give me an email address to add you.

The basic problem here is that I can’t edit a LayerSlider that looks perfect in preview and always has. What changes could I make if the slider looks perfect and nothing has changed except the Enfold version? I can only assume that the custom CSS I was given, code that was not necessary before, is messing things up. If you look at that slide six I gave you the link for there is suddenly some weird code in the slide. I am not capable of figuring out where this code is coming from because I don’t know what code was changed, nor am I am programmer anyway.

Obviously this is all delaying my urgent launch of my website. Hours and hours have been invested in designing my site for both flat and responsive design, plus the featured sliders. I cannot go back to square one by using a different theme so it’s really critical that we sort out these issues.

    I appreciate your help.

    Hi!

I wonder if this issue is caused by a plugin because afaik no other user reported this issue. Maybe the cache plugin or wordfence breaks the layout for Chrome users? Try to deactivate all plugins please and check if this fixes the issue. If not please try to remove your custom css code (quick css field, child theme css, etc.) – maybe this code breaks your website somehow.

    Regards,
    Peter

    #262574

wordfence is a good plugin to monitor the security of your website. You can block IPs and scan your site for viruses and malware.

    #254231

    Hey!

Did you try to deactivate all plugins – maybe a plugin causes the issue? I.e. I noticed that the wordfence plugin is active and I guess that the wordfence plugin may manipulate the website output if the user is not logged in. This would also explain why the website works if you’re logged in and doesn’t if you’re logged out.

    Regards,
    Peter

Just got a warning from WordFence that you had signed in. Gotta love it.

I always install WordFence because it has prevented hacking attempts on some of my sites. Today I got this warning that a core file had been changed by installing your theme –

Just wondered if this was normal?

Layer slider recently stopped operating properly. It flashes the elements before fading them in. http://durefoods.com/lifestyle/

It was working fine before. This is a recent issue. I haven’t changed anything. I was running Version 2.4.4 of the theme and WP 3.8.1
Just upgraded to Version 2.4.5 of the theme but the problem still exists,

I have not made any modifications. The layerslider is the one included with the theme.
    Active plugins are:
    BackupBuddy v 4.0.2.1
    bbPress v 2.5.3
    BulletProof Security v .49.9
    Gravity Forms v 1.8.3
    jQuery Updater v 2.1.0
    Login Configurator v 2.0
    Really Simple CAPTCHA v 1.7
    Sharepress v 2.2.25
Simple Share Buttons Adder v 3.3
    Uber Login Logo v 1.4.1
    Wordfence Security v 4.0.3
    WP-Memory-Usage v 1.2.2
    WP Google Fonts v 3.1.1

    Hi Kriesi,

Thanks for letting me know. Please let me know if you find a solution.

Since I’ve been using Wordfence along with Limit Logins, the number of successful hacks has dropped to zero. I heavily rely on these plugins along with .htaccess to secure the site.

Look forward to hearing you soon..

    Hi COLORIT!

    WordFence is incorrect. See: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/malicious-code-found-in-avia-framework/#post-219644

    Hi,

I’m using a plugin called Wordfence. It just recently completed a scan determining whether there was malicious code in my files and it found that the Avia Framework has it. Here is the error code below:

This file may contain malicious executable code
    Filename: wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/function-set-avia-ajax.php
File type: Not a core, theme or plugin file.
Issue first detected: 11 secs ago.
    Severity: Critical
    Status New
This file is a PHP executable file and contains the word ‘eval’ (without quotes) and the word ‘base64_decode(‘ (without quotes). The eval() function along with an encoding function like the one mentioned are commonly used by hackers to hide their code. If you know about this file you can choose to ignore it to exclude it from future scans.

With this being said, the author has admitted to becoming more aggressive about scanning files because of the increase in hacking attempts.

Can you please confirm whether your file has been compromised?

I suggest maybe reaching out to the author and see if there was a way so that you don’t get flagged. I have a number of other themes that I’ve purchased and I have not had this issue.

    Hi,

WORDFENCE give me today several warnings on this ENFOLD file:

    ../framework/php/function-set-avia-ajax.php

This file is a PHP executable file and contains the word ‘eval’ (without quotes) and the word ‘base64_decode’ (without quotes). The eval() function along with an encoding function like the one mentioned are commonly used by hackers to hide their code.

Could you tell me the reason for this and how to handle it? I won’t have any security problems at my sites.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

In reply to: Minify, Lazy Load

    Hey Devin,

    yes you´re right, it´s worth.

I read the manual and I think bwp-minify makes a good job with the scripts, but it´s not possible to handle the stylesheets the way I need it. In my case it breaks my Layout so I have to exclude a lot of stylesheets with the snippet. But that results in more queries..

I use MinQueue. It works pretty nice for me..

Today I played just one hour to fix all the scripts. In the last days with all the other Plugs I needed hours for bad results..

Now I have just 2 queues for css, one for the enfold-styles, and one for all others – both in the Header before the scripts. And I have 4 queues for javascript, 2 in the Header (most of them with jquery) and 2 in the footer.

All of them pulled correctly by CDN.

I´ve started with 25 Stylesheets (12 from Enfold), and 34 Scripts. Why this much? Oh, you can make WordPress combined with Enfold to a monster … :)

We need all the stuff for WooCommerce, Membership-Area and our own Community with bbPress and BuddyPress, Video-Gallery, Security, Optimization and additional Features in the Backend.

This moment we´re on a shared-hoster with a small package and GTMetrix gives us 91% and 80% and a loading time of 5.. I think if we upgrade it, we become some points more.. :) We´re on a Apache with xCache.

Really nice Theme and a good Team!! I will use for more projects in nearly future. Thumbs up!!

Here some Tipps for Plugs that gives us a good result:

Performance: WP Super Cache, Options Optimizer, Plugin Organizer, WP-Optimize, WP. Smush.it and MinQueue. To check Plugin-Performance: P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler). To Backup your Website: BackUpWordPress. Security: Wordfence, Better WP Security.

All of them are wellcoded with good Performance-Values.

Hope this can help some people. Please close this Topic. Thanks

    Best regards

    Hi yukanl,

Personally I use “Limit Login Attempts” and just keep my plugins to ones I’ve personally looked through the code on. I’ve not really checked out any of the “security” plugins that have become popular recently.

I’ve heard some good things about Wordfence but not used them so no first hand experience: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordfence/

    Hello,

I’m running into a plugin issue and want to see if you can help me figure out what’s going on. I’m using Store Locator Plus and first reached out to the developer for paid support before coming here. I’m getting 404 errors for all the custom pages the plugin is creating (/doctors/###).

Is there a setting in the theme or a snippet of code I can add that will allow these custom pages to be created and displayed?

Here’s what the plugin developer said after spending a lot of time working on this:

Well… I am baffled now as well.

Something in the unique mix of plugins & theme feaures is breaking permalinks. I am certain of that.

I am also certain that the basic engine for Store Pages is working. Turn off permalinks and the problem goes away, but the URLs are ugly (and bad for SEO).

There are a LOT of custom rules in this theme that change the permalinks table. The WPML “submodule”, for example, adds custom slugs and rules for custom post types based on the primary language. It has a special handler for portfolio page types as well.

I am certain some combination of the plugins on the site are causing an issue. I’ve installed WordFence, SEO, and WPML on my dev box all with the PostName permalink structure with no problems.

Something is mangling permalinks but I do not know what. I would like to figure it out today but I need to address some SLP4 beta issues this evening & have a full agenda tomorrow morning with family stuff going on.

I will come back to this in the next 24h or so, but the first thing I think you should try is a restore of the backup to a clean staging/test site and start disabling the plugins until you are left with the base theme + Store Locator Plus / Store Pages + WPML. If that doesn’t work then building UP from a clean site, layering on the add-on packs starting with the base theme + SLP / Pages then the plugins in order of importance.

It could very well be an old configuration/option setting in the wp_options table that was not cleared out when upgrading. Maybe the theme on the live site or a plugin on the live site is reading an old/obsolete value. I’ve had that issue with my own plugins in the past and had to write specific upgrade/activation rules to remove or update obsolete options.

I’ll see what I can dig up, but thus far on my test system I’m coming up with nothing.

I’d start disabling all the plugins on the live site until it is just the base theme + Store Pages, but I don’t want to make the site go into FUBAR mode without your consent.

As a “sanity test”, and in hopes to possibly uncover the issue with the Enfold theme & the location pages I decided to leave Enfold installed and active as my default theme on my development system.

Tonight, with a clean install of WP3.6 + Enfold + Store Locator Plus plugins, some really odd things started happening. Most notably the infamous “Sample Page” that comes with all WordPress installs as the first page pre-installed…. went missing. I simply cannot get to it with Permalinks enabled and Post Name as my custom post type.

I do NOT have Store Pages enabled. Only Store Locator Plus 4 and Pro Pack 4. Neither one of those components go near the permalinks table.

For some reason after using the site for just over an hour, my previously working sample page just started coming up with 404 errors.

My dev system is on localhost, so it is not a DNS issue.

My access is basically “wide open”, meaning I am running in privileged mode (though not root/super user) so it is not a security issue.

My guess is the theme has completely FUBARed the permalinks data or interface.

I have put in literally HUNDREDS of hours with SLP4 + Pro Pack 4 on the included WordPress 3.6 theme as well as a custom theme for a client (120+ hours), Genesis (90+ hours), and a few other themes and have never seen this type of result before.

I recommend getting in touch with the theme author and asking if he has heard of this happening before. At first I was thinking “it must be something in Store Locator Plus or Store Pages”, but now that Sample Page with NO Store Locator Plus code has gone missing I’m fairly certain it is NOT something in the plugin.

I’m even more convinced of it as it happened with SLP4 which cleans up some script loading that was putting SLP scripts on pages without the locator map. That does not happen in SLP4, and I verified that was the case on the sample page URL.

I’ve even tried using another plugin that’s similar and I get the same issue.

Please let me know if you need logins, URLs or anything at all to help you help me.

I appreciate your support and understanding! Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Can you give us a link to the website?

1.) How do you embed the videos?

2.) Please check the link: http://responsinator.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fkriesi.at%2Fthemes%2Fenfold%2F

You can see that the titles are responsive. You can use Media Queries to make certain elements responsive. CSS changes can be made on your custom.css or Quick CSS.

3.) You can switch the Advance Layout Editor (ALE) to debug mode. You will be able to see the actual shortcode below the ALE. You can copy and paste it to an Enfold installation somewhere else.

    Edit functions.php, find this code

    if(isset($avia_config['use_child_theme_functions_only'])) return;

    Below, add this code:

    //set builder mode to debug
    add_action('avia_builder_mode', "builder_set_debug");
    function builder_set_debug()
    {
    return "debug";
    }

4.) We can’t say for sure. We haven’t tested the Wordfence plugin. Please let us know if you encounter any problem.

Hi guys, first we would like to congratulate you on what is easily the best WordPress theme that we have ever used ever! We’ve left more detailed feedback on the comments section on Theme Forest, but nice work.

Ok, a few small problems we can’t solve and would appreciate some help with please.

    1. When embedding YouTube content we can’t seem to find any way to prevent related videos from showing at the end, even though our usual method of add ‘?rel=0’ usually resolves this. As this is really important for us as we will be using the site to showcase our own videos, we would really appreciate some help here.

    2. Heading titles don’t seem to be responsive. When we scale our page down H1,2,3’s don’t scale and get cut off where are titles are too long. Is there a workaround or something that we are missing please.

    3. We’re creating our new site on a spare domain right now until we’re happy that it can be moved over. Is there a way to save the templates and custom layouts to transfer too? When we save our custom styles and then select another preset and come back it’s not be saved?

    4. Last one for now. Does your site work well with Wordfence security plugin please?

    Many thanks,

    Jay

I have not modified anything in any of the Enfold theme files at all… Like I said I use the plugin Configure SMTP on all of my WordPress sites and it has worked perfectly so far… as I said before… all mail sends perfectly from WordPress… ie, Password retrieval, new user, Wordfence, Contact form 7, UpdraftPlus too… basically everything but the Enfold built in forms… they just go to lala land… no errors or anything… I never tested the Enfold forms sending mail until 1.7… I started with 1.5 but had not ever tried to send a form mail out… so I am guessing it was probably still an issue…

I have disabled all plugins except the Configure SMTP on and also tried other similar plugins but everything works mail or formwise execpt the enfold forms… there has to be related to enfold… I really like your form builder and would like to be able to use it…

Also… I have all of my WordPress sites running on Windows Servers… with the latest PHP, MYSQL, and wordpress… I have full control of everything so if you have any ideas or some code to change in the theme let me know please…

    Regards,

    Mark L. Lee

Also all mail sends perfectly from WordPress… ie, Password retrieval, new user, Wordfence, Contact form 7, basically everything but the Enfold built in forms…

    Hi,

something concerning has appeared in Wordfence :

    the following

    enfold/js/mediaelement/mediaelement-and-player.js

    and

    enfold/js/mediaelement/mediaelementplayer.js

    refer to the following url

    http://www.delphiki.com/html5/playr

it describes it as critical and indicates the following :

This file contains a suspected malware URL listed on Google’s list of malware sites.

can you let me know how mediaelement-and-player.js and mediaelementplayer.js interact with that site

    and

how to correct that situation ?

Can I delete both files without impact of the rest of the theme

    or

is there a better solution to sort this out ?

    with many thanks

    John
