    Hello! I just purchased and loaded the Enfold theme. But even after reviewing the PSD files and different slider types for the home page feature image area, it is not apparent to me as to what the best size/dimension my images should be so they can be properly SEEN.

    I am using the Fullscreen Slider on the home page within your page builder widget. I built this image at 1500px wide by 350px tall and I have “No Scaling” chosen as the Slideshow Image Size type (and I’ve tried the other two options as well).

    However, this feature image is SUPER huge and the “subject” of my feature image is completely off screen.

    What am I doing wrong? Is there a different/better size my feature images should be?

    Please advise.

    NOTE: Slide image in question is the “We Offer Career Services” slide.

    Thanks, in advance, for your help! This is driving me NUTS! :)

    I’m trying to get the layer slider to center the banner image on the homepage for smaller laptops.

    http://microhound.com/

    It works great on screen size of 1920×1080 , but when the size is smaller the banner image I created will go to the right until it is cut off.

    The banner I created is 1920×470 Its the second and third banner that I am having a problem with.

    Thank you for your help

    Topic: Portfolio Item Link

    I would like to link the portfolio items on my page directly to other pages on the site, instead of unfolding and displaying images. In the portfolio entry I change the “Overwrite Portfolio Link setting” option to “define custom link”, but when I click on the item it does not take me to a new page.

    Link to our site is:

    How do I get the portfolio items to be links?

    Hi garyguthrie!

    It depends on where you want to add it in and in what context. There are far too many solutions with variable implementations to really give a good breakdown of them.

    Can you give a bit more of a specific example on where you are trying to add this in?

    Regards,
    Devin

    We’re building out a site where we want to make it as easy as possible to create little promotional “blurbs” about upcoming events.
    The “blurb” would, essentially, be a graphic/photo and a line or two of text.
    My questions are:
    Is there a way to easily/quickly add in graphics/photos of the exact same proportional size. Say we’re doing a row of four (4) boxes and want them to all look the same (height/width).
    And I know that there are several sliders/etc., do you have a suggestion as to which one would work best for something like I’m describing?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hey kecster2!

    You’ll need to add a z-index to the header buttons css. For example:

    .header-buttons {
    position: absolute;
    right: 0;
    border: none;
    z-index: 10;
    }

    It looks like the image uses is a bit taller than the top nav so you’ll probably need to adjust that as well.

    Just note that although we do often provide custom css for customizations like this it doesn’t guarantee it will always work flawlessly or have full cross browser support. Customization isn’t generally covered by support.

    Best regards,
    Devin

    Hi tenaciousflea!

    The dimensions are up to you but should be large enough that the image doesn’t get pixelated when stretched but the file size is still small enough not to cause loading issues. Something like 1500×1500 pixels is a pretty good size to start with which is why Kriesi used in the demo: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/files/2013/06/tablet-2-1500×1500.jpg

    Cheers!

    hi. what are the dimensions of the full screen slider background image?

    #203875

    Hi again,

    I don´t know if it´s the regular behavior, but the header navigation bar doesn´t keep at the top when the page is about 980px wide or less, despite this option was previously selected: “Fixed Header With Social Icons and additional Navigation”. Could this threshold width be changed?

    PS (images in Firefox): You can also check that your Enfold demo site has the same image resize pixelated issues in Firefox:

    – Take a look to the Enfold logo when it’s resized scrolling the page:
    Enfold logo in Firefox

    – Take a look to your demo customers:

    I’ve got a 2/3 column with easy slider and 1/3 column with form. I want to have the Easyslider fill up the 2/3 column so it has no padding or margins around, basically no white space around the image.’

    @chryseis – The layerslider does not have parallax capability baked into right now as far as I know. The fullscreen slider is the only “fullscreen” element that will actually adjust itself to the full screen of the viewer. By default it already has the basic “parallax” effect where the image is fixed to the background as you scroll up.

    For right now it doesn’t have video support but the majority of the work to add it in is already done so it shouldn’t be long before an update to add video support for the slider is added in.

    Hi!

    Yes, that is correct. The images defined width will get ignored because the theme is adjusting them to work for all the various screen sizes (100% width).

    So if you want your image to have a constrained size it should be in either a column or just the actual width natively and not scaled down.

    Hi,

    When using the latest (and an old one) version of WishList Member, if I create a page in WP and set the content protection to on, the page is protected.

    However…. If I turn on the Avia Layout Builder on and save the page, the page protection is lost.

    Any ideas on how to solve this?

    Matt

    PS. I have tried turning on & off custom post types, that made the problem worse by none of the pages appearing in the protection list, just a collection of image files

    The problem is the markup being generated, we need to get the image and the title out of the b element in order to float it:

    Can you create an administrator account and post it here as a private reply?

    Hi Devin,

    I think I have had the same problem, though the posts are private so hard to be sure. If you’d like me to start a new thread please let me know.

    Here’s the issue:
    All the images that were put into my posts in the text box, and then scaled down using the % feature suddenly appeared as 100% images on the front end of the site, even though in Editing mode they appeared scaled as I originally had them.

    First, I tried re-uploading pictures and rescaling them with the % feature, and again the images appeared as I wanted them in the editor but were at 100% on the front end.

    To fix the problem I used the automatic scaler that you discuss in the reply above and that worked for a couple of my images where the pre-selected sizes worked. However, many of the images I uploaded did not conform to the pre-selected sizes and the only option I had to return my site to normal looking was to manually resize the images in the media editor.

    To sum, it seems the % scale feature (for images in a post) works in the editor but fails to appear scaled in view mode. Although I have fixed the images as I discussed above these were two pages where I had problems: http://thepsychreport.com/essays-discussion/art-a-tail-or-a-song/ and http://thepsychreport.com/essays-discussion/babies-and-the-science-of-morality/

    Thanks. I appreciate the help.

    Hello,

    I wrote you down days ago from the Comments at Themeforest, regarding an issue with the images quality when open the site in Firefox 26.0, and in all browsers my logo doesn´t resize as expected when the window narrows.

    I am note sure, but I have figured out about these issues after your latest updates. My CSS files are unaltered from the beggining.

    Issues:

    – Uploaded a logo in 340 px and 640 px wide, and the results are the same.

    In Firefox the logo and the resized images within the LayerSlider, etc. are pixelated in a regular display:

    Firefox

    But in Safari or Chrome, it is shown ok in a regular display:

    Safari and Chrome

    Anyway, when watching it in a Retina Display, everything is ok no matter the browser (here in Firefox, you´ll probably see this capture twice in size):

    Retina

    Another issue is the logo doesn´t resize when changing the browser width:

    Width

    Regarding the browser width and the pixelated issue in regular displays, here is another example with out customers’ logos (in some cases the texts are unreadable):

    Customers

    And finally, why when narrowing the browser some logos, images, etc. they pile up 1-2-1-2, instead of 1-1-1-1?

    If you could check my site which is in “maintenance mode” at this moment, I can give you the login in a private message.

    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hey chryseis!

    The full screen slideshow element is actually its own element all together. In Media Elements look for the “FullScreen Slider” element. When adding images to the element you can add a caption title and caption text to each image.

    Regards,
    Devin

    Hey!

    When you go to insert the image into the text area don’t select the fullsize image from the Size dropdown. Instead, select the image size you want to show in the front end of your site. The theme auto scales images to 100% of their actual width for the responsive functionality and so if you have an image that is being constrained by inline width/height the theme overrides it.

    The “Media File” option for the Link to dropdown will still allow you to link to the full size image even when adding the smaller actual image size.

    Cheers!

    Hey!

    If you want to remove the link add following code to the bottom of functions.php

    add_filter('avf_title_args', 'fix_single_post_title', 10, 2);
    function fix_single_post_title($args,$id)
    {
    if (is_single()) $args['link'] = false;
    return $args;
    }

    2) You can try this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-share-buttons-adder/
    If the plugin doesn’t use the right content for the facebook share data I recommend to install http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/ and then you can use the “Social” tab/options: http://www.clipular.com/c/5678826713513984.png?k=2EpKGdnQl0mtbk_vvn_O5O2cfYY to specify some content for the social sharing services (description, image for facebook and google+, etc.)

    Hey!

    You can use the page id class to deactivate the hover effect on a specific page. Use following css code instead of Ismael’s code

    .page-id-755 .grid-image.avia-hover-fx {
    display: none;
    }

    and replace 755 with the id of the portfolio page where you want to hide the images.

    Cheers!

    Hey!

    It seems like the image is wrapped into a b tag. Try following code instead

    <p><a href="http://www.cambridgeespana.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/About_BlueSq_pale.jpg" class="alignleft"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2817" alt="About_BlueSq_pale" src="http://www.cambridgeespana.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/About_BlueSq_pale.jpg" width="60" height="60"></a> <strong>Preparation</strong> is key to every successful outcome; given our first-hand experience and understanding of what acquirers and investors expect, we are well versed at preparing management teams for an impending transaction or inflection point.</p>

    Hey!

    If you want to remove the featured image from the single post page open up /wp-content/themes/enfold/includes/loop-index.php and replace

            //echo preview image
            if(strpos($blog_style, 'big') !== false)
            {
                if($slider) $slider = '<a href="'.$link.'" title="'.$featured_img_desc.'">'.$slider.'</a>';
                if($slider) echo '<div class="big-preview '.$blog_style.'">'.$slider.'</div>';
            }

    with

            if(is_single()) $slider = false;
            //echo preview image
            if(strpos($blog_style, 'big') !== false)
            {
                if($slider) $slider = '<a href="'.$link.'" title="'.$featured_img_desc.'">'.$slider.'</a>';
                if($slider) echo '<div class="big-preview '.$blog_style.'">'.$slider.'</div>';
            }

    Hey jmaguirrei!

    1) The main problem is that the images have different aspect ratios. Using smaller thumbnails won’t help but you’ll just get blurry images. Personally I recommend to cut/edit the preview images of “Comercial Historia del Whisky Johnnie Walker” and to convert it to a portrait image.

    2) Yes, our theme supports the “category_description()” function. This article: http://www.craftedbyharsh.com/how-to-display-the-wordpress-category-description-in-your-theme/ will help you to use the “category description” field on the admin/editor page. Note: You don’t need to modify the theme files because Enfold supports the category description out of the box.

    Regards,
    Peter

    #203612

    Hey!

    The next update (see https://kriesi.at/support/topic/linking-the-iconbox/ ) will enable you to create an icon list (or icon box) with clickable tiles and icons. You can then use this elements to create a list of pdf links which will open in the same or new windows.

    Peter
