    In Enfold Child Theme Options > Advanced Styling, all previous settings have disappeared, gone. I can no longer edit any existing items (H1, buttons, main menu links, etc.)

    I am using licensed ENFOLD version 5.1.2.
    I am using PHP 8
    I am using WordPress 6.0.2

    Thank you so much.

    Hey,

    Thank you, hope you are having a beautiful day as well :)

    Please add following code to Quick CSS field in Enfold theme options > General Styling tab

    .av-masonry-entry .av-inner-masonry-content, .av-masonry-entry .av-inner-masonry-content .avia-arrow {
      background-color: orange;
    }

    .av-masonry-entry .av-inner-masonry-content {
      padding: 30px;
    }

    Hey Malene,

    Sorry for the problem. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (5.1.2) to see if that helps please? The update to 5.0 has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
    You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
    If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
    Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Hi, we integrated an iFrame in a code clock with a special feature for one of our customers. Unfortunately, this iFrame loads Google fonts, which is a GDPR problem. Can we integrate a custom cookie / service request via the Enfold cookie consent to deactivate / activate the iFrame (perhaps with a shortcode)?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    When I activate Enfold, I get this:
    Fatal error: Unparenthesized a ? b : c ? d : e is not supported. Use either (a ? b : c) ? d : e or a ? b : (c ? d : e) in /customers/e/5/8/artemis.dk/httpd.www/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions-enfold.php on line 313

    Any idea why? I’ve used Enfold for years with no problems, and now suddenly this.
    Best;
    M

    Thank you Ismael, I will make changes to the badrabbitpictures site. I did not make any changes, however, I have been in constant contact with domain.com help desk…whatever changes were made came from their end. They still insist that it is not their problem. I on the other hand, am convinced that it is.

    I thank you for your assistance, and apologize if I came off a bit rude – it was not my intention. I love Enfold as I have stated before…and will continue to use it. I will more than likely switching my server provider…and thank you for your assistance once again.

    Best to you and everyone.

    Hallo Rikard,
    habe das Parent Enfold aktivieren können. Plugins sind jetzt deaktiviert. Ordner umbenannt.
    Mit aktivierten Plugins sowie mit deaktivierten Plugins kommt kein Hamburger.

    Viele Grüsse
    Fred

    Hi,
    You dont need the whole file.
    You only need the part thats problematic
    Here it is – copied directly from the WP-Editor under wp-admin/theme-editor.php?file=style.css&theme=enfold-child :

    .html_header_top.html_header_topbar_active.html_header_sticky #top #main {
    	padding-top: 166px;}

    /* Navigation */
    #header_main .logo{
    	position:relative;
    }

    eva

    PS: I can tell you what will happen – cause i did it already several times:
    – You will not find the special character (or when you do you will remove it)
    – You send the “clean code” back.
    – I will paste it into my CSS
    Layout will be broken.

    Remember:
    The problem IS NOT that THERE IS this special character.
    The problem is that the layout breaks when i DELETE the special character

    Hi,

    @Jasmer
    : Did you change the login URL? The default redirects to a 404 page. Please provide the custom login URL in the private field. Are the widgets working when you set the Enfold > Theme Options > Select Your Editor settings to Use WP Classic Editor?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1367522

    Hey multimoussa,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    You can edit the widgets in the Appearance > Widgets panel, and the default page navigation can be toggled in the Enfold > Sidebar Settings panel, look for the Page Sidebar Navigation option.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    Did you purge the cache after adding the css? You may also need to toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings while editing the site.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

    The site doesn’t load immediately because the browser has to wait for at least 12-20 seconds before the server responds and push the resources to the client (our browser). Please note that this wait duration has nothing to do with the theme or any resources in site, and completely depends on the connection between the server and the client. After the server responds, we usually have to wait for 6 to 8 seconds before the resources (images, css, scripts etc) are completely loaded. The size of the home page (badrabbit) is more than 10 MB, so it is not small. (see screenshot)

    Screenshot: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjjTfXSRbKTvyS39t7iDmsI2YDih?e=twQgch

    The server response time improves to around 6-10 seconds when we checked the site again today. Did you make any changes to the site? The size of the page is still larger than 10 MB. Slow response is expected on a shared server.

    Please try to temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings, then purge the cache. You may need to upgrade your server as well.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    I downloaded the enfold child theme… but it damaged my whole lay out, causing bugs too. I came back to normal after half an hour work;

    After activating the child theme, you have to import the parent theme options to retain the existing layout or settings. Please check the documentation below for more info about the child theme.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/child-theme/

    Once the child theme is activated and parent theme options are imported, edit the functions.php file and place the avf_alb_supported_post_types filter, and make sure to replace the placeholders with the actual name of the new post type.

    function avf_alb_supported_post_types_mod( array $supported_post_types )
    {
      $supported_post_types[] = 'MAKE-SURE-TO-REPLACE-THIS-WITH-THE-ACTUAL-CUSTOM-POST-TYPE';
      return $supported_post_types;
    }
    add_filter('avf_alb_supported_post_types', 'avf_alb_supported_post_types_mod', 10, 1);

    The avf_metabox_layout_post_types filter will just enable the Layout metabox for the post type, where you can adjust the settings for the header, sidebar, etc.

    If you want to place the filter directly in the parent theme’s function.php file, try to put the filters or changes at the very bottom of the file.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ed,

    Yes, the default behavior is for it to open on page load.
    Do you have some site optimization plugin installed and activated on your site? if yes please try to clear its cache and temporarily deactivate it, and see if it helps.
    We can try to debug it further, but we’ll need admin access to inspect it or you can simply add this CSS code in Enfold > General Styling > Quick CSS (for quick fix):

    #top .product .woocommerce-tabs .wc-tab {
        display: block;
    }

    Best regards,

    EDIT: After playing around with grids more, I can simplify this question:

    Why won’t my images in grids show up in the same size?

    I’ve created new grids with pictures that I tried to make exact or similar size, and they all come out in different sizes on the site.

    Same problem as here: kriesi.at/support/topic/images-in-grid-row-are-not-same-size/

    Thanks

    Hello. Total n00b here.

    I’m using the Enfold Theme with the Shop Demo. On the Home page, below the slider is the Grid Row.

    I am trying to replace the default pictures with my own. The default images all show the same size in the grid. When I insert a new pic and save it, it appears on the site as a different size then the default pictures. It has white padding on the bottom and sides of the new pics. I have changed two of the four pictures, and each new pic is a different size, both smaller than the default images with white spacing.

    I have changed the image sizes, even to the exact same as the default images. I have compared all the settings in the new pictures with the default pictures and they are exactly the same also. I cannot find any difference in the new pics vs the default demo pics in size or grid settings. I am stuck.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

    I have set up a single image post to mirror the demo you have at https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/2014/08/24/a-nice-entry/

    1/ My post does not display the following:
    a/ Blog post title and categories
    b/ Image
    c/ Date
    d/ Tags
    e/ Share this entry
    f/ You might also like

    Do I need to be enabling anything in the Enfold settings?

    I have not defined the main Blog page within Enfold – will this fix all of the above?

    Thanks

    Hi Ismael,
    My domain provider debuged the site, but now my footer page and my 404 page are still under error when trying to access them through “modify”. In both cases, one can only click on a new command called “change”, leading to Enfold/general options/footer, so no way to make detailed changes from there
    Can you do something ?
    Thanks

    Dear Sirs and Madams,
    we discovered that our web site http://www.collarimacchine.it has not footer more…
    Also, we noticed that in “Appearance”, “Menus”, in “Manage with Live Preview” and section “widgets” shows this message:
    “Your theme has 9 widget areas, but this particular page does not display them.”

    Could you help us?

    Waiting for your comment.

    In reply to: Update on ACF support

    Hi, Rikard!

    I think the biggest challenge for us is the inability to easily add custom content without resorting to digging in templates. My hope was that Avia could use the normal post type taxonomy selector, and then it would pull up a list of the fields available under that taxonomy. To me, it feels like Avia is so close to solving this, but the one thing missing is the bridge between taxonomies and ACF data. I am probably way over-simplifying things, but I have found in the past that sometimes the answer is right in front of us.

    That said, with the constant need for custom content and content types, was the intended technique always to hand-code templates for CPTs? There are several good and established options out there (CPTUI, ACF, Pods, etc.), with a ton more coming. I guess what I am asking is instead of waiting for our theme competition to seize on it, can we find a way to lead the charge with a solution that is equally as powerful as Enfold?

    If it is a matter of time or cost, let developers like us find a solution for that. I would have no problem paying more to have a more enhanced feature set, and I have said that many times in the past. We need tools to continue to promote Enfold as the best solution, especially with WordPress trying to eat everyone’s lunch these days. I don’t want to be stuck with only Automattic solutions, and the idea of Elementor and its bloat scares me almost equally.

    If you build a solution for CPTs and Custom Fields, or even a solution that ties in with them, we will have no problem with additional licenses to support those efforts. It would open tons of opportunities to push Enfold way beyond the scope it was designed for.

    Additionally, we would have no problem paying for a Pro version of Enfold. In fact, we would welcome it with open arms, as it would be a way to contribute to building out Enfold with more resources, rather than just the recurring support residuals. Let us know what it would take.

    As soon as I downloaded the enfold theme and added it to my site, it now displays the error: “There has been a critical error on this website.” I am unsure of how to fix this.

    #1367448

    Hey,

    Please add following code to Quick CSS field in Enfold theme options > General Styling tab

    #top .av-large-testimonial-slider .avia-testimonial-name {
      margin-top: 8px;
    }

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Hi,

    You can export your theme settings under Enfold->Import/Export, then import them again when the parent theme is active. Please try this if you want to test it yourself.

    I see that your child theme is empty, so it’s likely that the problem is coming from somewhere else though. What happens if you temporarily deactivate all plugins?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1367431

    Hi, Ismael
    Thanks for your message and your help.
    I read your documentation on the subject and am now faced with several problems.
    – I downloader the enfold child theme… but it damaged my whole lay out, causing bugs too. I came back to normal after half an hour work;
    – I can add the recommended snippet codes… but where exactly in the functions.php file? That file is quite dense and has 858 lines, I want to be sure of the exact location where I will paste the code without damaging this vital file.
    – If I understand the documentation properly, I need to paste 2 series of code:
    > first, the necessary code as I am not using a child theme :
    if(isset($avia_config[‘use_child_theme_functions_only’])) return;
    > then, the code used to display my custom post types:
    function avf_alb_supported_post_types_mod( array $supported_post_types )
    {
    $supported_post_types[] = ‘YOUR CUSTOM POST NAME’;
    $supported_post_types[] = ‘YOUR CUSTOM POST NAME’;
    return $supported_post_types;
    }
    add_filter(‘avf_alb_supported_post_types’, ‘avf_alb_supported_post_types_mod’, 10, 1);

    – The documentation also says a third series of code should be added for layout metaboxes (see below)… What are they? And again, where should I paste in the functions.php file?
    function avf_metabox_layout_post_types_mod( array $supported_post_types )
    {
    $supported_post_types[] = ‘YOUR CUSTOM POST TYPE’;
    return $supported_post_types;
    }
    add_filter(‘avf_metabox_layout_post_types’, ‘avf_metabox_layout_post_types_mod’, 10, 1);

    – last but not least: ‘YOUR CUSTOM POST TYPE’ should be replaced by what, the slug of my custom post type I guess?

    Thanks for your help, have a nice day
