Well, Enfold 4.2.6 is not built to work with the WordPress 5+ so you need to update the theme.
The latest is 4.6.3.1.

Well, the regular menu does not change like that, unfortunately. You might want to look for a plugin that gives such an option.

The Layer Slider that comes with Enfold does not need to be activated, it is fully functional as it is. The updates come with Enfold updates. If you want to use the premium features or have the Layer Slider updated as the update comes out you can buy the license for the Layer Slider.
