I checked the code again and it should work, do you have any caching plugins active? Please delete the cache and deactivate the plugin while testing if you do.

Are you using any plugins to speed up the site such as caching, minify or image compression? Also, you could try to deactivate all other plugins to see if one of them is slowing things down.

1. Most likely, the version you are running is very old.
2. Updating the theme will overwrite any changes you have made to the theme files themselves, unless you have them in a child theme. Any settings on the backend in the theme options will be safe. Please back up your site before updating so that you can restore your current site if anything should go wrong.

I think the only solution for that is to decrease the font size, or add a media query just before it breaks and decrease the font size in that query only. Please let us know if you need any help in doing so.

If you have made changes to any of the theme files they will be overwritten, unless you have put them in a child theme. Your backend theme settings will be fine, but please backup before overwriting just to be sure.
