You could try to reset your .htaccess setttings by going to Settings–>Permalink, select default and save then select the setting you want and save again to see if that works.

The advanced editor for posts is meant for people who want total control over their blog posts, very similar to a page. If you want the regular style then please use the default editor. I couldn’t see the blog post you were referring to, did you remove it or maybe you got it fixed already?

I’m not entirely sure I understand what you are trying to achieve, do you want the header to be larger so that the logo fits within that area? If you could provide us with screenshots highlighting your intentions it would help a lot.
