The advanced editor for posts is meant for people who want total control over their blog posts, very similar to a page. If you want the regular style then please use the default editor. I couldn’t see the blog post you were referring to, did you remove it or maybe you got it fixed already?

I’m not entirely sure I understand what you are trying to achieve, do you want the header to be larger so that the logo fits within that area? If you could provide us with screenshots highlighting your intentions it would help a lot.

I think you can select yourself what to display if you go to the widget(s) in question under Appearance–>Widgets.

Do you have any minify or caching plugins active? If so, please deactivate them while testing.

You could do it on a local server on you desktop machine or maybe on a subdomain and then transfer when you are done?

It sounds like you have made some customisations to the parent theme? The child theme should act the same way as the parent theme if no changes have been made to any of the core files.

I couldn’t reproduce the error on ipad mini using latest version of chrome, could you try to clear you browser cache and reload a few times? In portrait view on first load it showed up just as it does on desktop.
