Hi Yigit,
I’m not sure why the editor in the backend no longer works… is it just my installation or is that a change WordPress made?
SFTP credentials in private content so you can make the mods if you don’t mind and then make changes if we need to further modify….
Best and thanks!
RobJune 12, 2018 at 4:24 pm in reply to: Enfold Instagram Widget not Working (Enfold 4.2.6, PHP 7.2) #971725Ellen, I would suggest you just install the plugin called “Instagram Feed” by Smash Balloon… it works great and is free.
Very easy to set up.
Best,
RobHi Yigit!
That is correct… posting logins to private content.
Thanks!
RobIsmael can you guys put this into production asap? I don’t want to continue to patch Enfold for a bug that’s been around more than a month now. Seems like it would be easy to include in a mini-release and push it within a week?
It is disappointing to see that the patch for the bug was not included in this week’s update. This has happened repeatedly, where a patch is published on the forum and it takes several versions of Enfold before it is finally included in the production version.
Clearly you guys need to look at your bug tracking / resolution system. We are looking at more than a month Enfold has had a bug with the custom 404 page now, which causes soft 404 errors on Google search console.
June 9, 2018 at 4:47 am in reply to: Update from 4.2.6 to 4.4.1 locks up site and makes it unusable #970253To update from 4.2.x to 4.3 or 4.4 requires update via FTP, unfortunately, or site will indeed crash as you have experienced. Be sure you delete the old Enfold folder before updating the new theme.
Hi Ismael,
Sounds like that change would change the entire site, not just that page… now that #1 is fixed, I don’t need #2 as much… I just thought if there were an easy link to the burger menu I could set up the slider button with that.
Thanks for your help!
RobJune 2, 2018 at 2:18 am in reply to: Font Awesome from maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com – where to disable? #965635I have also noticed this slowing down my site. Is this something that Enfold requires? The article above indicates some themes use font awesome. Does Enfold?
Many threads on this… update header.php in your child theme folder and lightbox will start working again.
:)
Hi Ismael!
Thank you for your reply!
1. I just figured it out… when the css didn’t change it, I tried to think why it is re-loading the page… it is doing that because the link in the “MENU” button on home page was going to anchor using http instead of https… I just converted to https in the past week or two. So when I changed link to https, it works again… yay!
2. As you can see, I am sort of “faking” the menu by having user click menu or hamburger photo and then page scrolls down to menu. I was wondering if there’s a way I could have the hamburger photo be a link that actually launches the hamburger menu? Now that #1 is working this is not critical, but I thought I would ask since it is a bit of a cheat design in the way I have done it.
Thanks!!

May 29, 2018 at 4:33 pm in reply to: Lots of php server errors class-framework-widgets.php lines 3019 and 3020 #963792Thank you! I found the widget in an old unused sidebar, deleted it, and it seems like the errors have stopped.
Thanks Günter!
RobYigit, when deleting a folder to install the theme, is there a fast way to do it? In Filezilla it takes a long time to delete the Enfold folder which means my site is down longer than ideal. Should I just rename the folder, then install Enfold to the old folder location, then delete the old enfold folder? I’ve been wondering about this for some time.
Thanks,
RobGreat to hear, Ismael.Thanks, Rob
If you are updating from 4.2x to 4.4, you need to update via FTP, and delete the Enfold theme folders first (don’t overwrite, as it mixes files)
Good luck!
In addition to the above, you may need to update header.php in your child theme. That fixed my lightbox issues.
May 27, 2018 at 5:09 pm in reply to: Lots of php server errors class-framework-widgets.php lines 3019 and 3020 #962830I not a coder but this seems to be related to the Instagram widget? I no longer use that widget on my site.
* Now we check that all directories belong to a cache entry
*/
$cache_dirs = scandir( $this->upload_folders[‘instagram_dir’] );
$cache_dirs = array_diff( $cache_dirs, array( ‘.’, ‘..’ ) );As workaround, you can download Smart Slider…. free version works great for videos. I’m using Pro now but was very happy with the free, and it works great with Enfold.
(I have no connection with Smart Slider besides being a user)
May 25, 2018 at 6:16 am in reply to: JQuery undefined, Avia layout builder and wordpress backend broken #961956Very strange. I have been running Enfold on WP Engine for 2 years now with no problems or conflicts and did not need to modify wp-config.php. I wonder if something became corrupted during install? Wp Engine is great, glad they were able to sort it out!
May 25, 2018 at 2:20 am in reply to: Enfold Using "Retired Version" of Google Maps API – error showing in console #961924Nope, fine to close it thanks!
Kriesi, can you also include Ismael’s fix for the minor 404 bug in the next update? Several of us are worried about soft 404 errors in Google console if we don’t get it sorted soon.
I just had to revert to the standard Google font (Open Sans)… the uploaded seems to default to a heavier font (next to the uploaded font it says 300, 400, 600 etc)… Is there a way to set which weight to use on the uploaded fonts?
That worked like a charm for me and the Google font is now in the fonts drop down menu. By doing this I was able to turn on “load google fonts in footer” with no impact to user experience, but helps my page speed score. No longer loading Google fonts at all. Thanks for the tutorial!

RobHi David, what version of Enfold are you on now?
The reason I ask is the support forum has been filled with people who had their sites go down when they went from 4.2x to 4.3x or 4.4x because of the aformentioned issue around old files being left behind or partially overwritten.
Once you get to 4.3 you can resume dashboard updates, but the update from 4.2 to 4.3 or 4.4 is likely to fail in the dashboard… at least it did in mine.
I don’t want to jinx it, but 4.4 is running fine on my site right now. Most of the issues stem from people updating within the dashboard instead of deleting the enfold theme folder and installing a fresh copy.
Hope yours gets sorted out.
Best,
RobI am using WP Engine (they are great!) and it’s working fine with Enfold 4.4. All the performance features are turned on, and I’m using Fast Velocity Minify plugin in addition.
I ran into the same issues pushing from staging to production. If you are updating from 4.2 to 4.3 or 4.2 to 4.4, the push from staging to production won’t work, because it leaves the old files from 4.2 and those files conflict with 4.4
Once you get to 4.3 and above, you can go with the standard push from staging to production process… but if you’re running lower than 4.3, you need to do it manually. Yigit helped me with it because my site went HTTP 500 white screen when I pushed from staging to production. but I think what you need to do is DELETE the enfold folder on your production site and manually FTP copy over the latest Enfold theme there after you push from staging to production.
Hope this helps!
RobMay 23, 2018 at 6:01 pm in reply to: Enfold Using "Retired Version" of Google Maps API – error showing in console #961037Thanks much… I agree, I never thought it was critical (unlike the 404 fix, which IS critical… ha ha) but thought you should know it’s showing that error.
Thanks!!
RobThis fix is NOT in the GDPR update (4.4)… please confirm this is going to be in the next update in 1-2 weeks? I am concerned this bug will result in Google Search Console “soft 404 errors” increasing.
Thanks
RobYou know I will!
:)
You are a genius! I do not know how you found that! Above and beyond!
Thank you!!!
Rob
