Dear Ismael, no more plugins, please. This is what users expect, as you see from many support calls since 2013.

Bad enough, that we must use many other third party plugins

    Dear Ismael,

you don’t need a side link. Take a look at the pictures, at guennies answer and yigits.
It’s a conflict in you css.
This is standard behavior. You can test it in a fresh installation of enfold. It’s at every fresh enfold installation, that we must manipulate CSS to remove the unwanted grey border.

Yiggit, Guenni etc has found it also. And the forum is full of that. You have the same calls again and again.
You have a border definition between color sections. And if we turn it Off inside the color section properties, there is one.

    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/remove-bottom-border-line-from-color-section-advanced-layerslider/

    etc.

in reply to: Adding Social Media Links etc. #1247825

    Dear Ismael,

    Both. All in one solution.

Easy things, which are known from third parties plugins and other themes.

User asks for easy things and good layout, where visitors have easy access to social pages (to gain follower or sharings), where Enfold users have easy things, which are known from other things of you cool website builder.

Ismael, you have the best layout builder ever and inside this universe.
But some things have the touch from the early 2000. I hope, you don’t stop the investigation, to give more to your users.

Share or link – give the user, what he need.
    Let the user decide.
Make processes easy instead to manipulate CSS things. The manual is horrible. Why you use this not as drag-drop-easy-listening-toolbox? See the image at the end.

Cool icons, easy processes. (possible a toggle inside the existing social element to switch between share or link – easy revamp). I know, you can solve it. Please invest in the future.

Most of your users need easy processes. Most people don’t want to manipulate CSS things. You see it at the calls. It’s less work here to answer the questions again and again.

Workflow: as we know: at enfold menu, we define the social accounts.

In my mind: An easy widget, where user can decide, which icons want to see, round, grey, rectangle, with hover effect or without. Whatever. Or fullwidth rectangle inside the sidebar. There are so many cool things outside this predefined set from the beginning of enfold.

Easy usage and mirroring from one template via “page content” element. To have one place for the original social box. And if anything is changed (e.g. new network) user can change it at one place and can mirroring this via page content element.

I work with the “page content” element very fast. Contact forms, trust banners, team members: All is at some preset pages. And I can mirror all. That was one of your biggest features to make work easier.

A easy social widget for sidebar, footer, inside the content. Whatever the possibility is. This was my wish…and many users also, if you read the Google history and compare, what Kriesi’s competitors do.

in reply to: Adding Social Media Links etc. #1245143

    A sad story of Enfold.
Social media marketing and embedding of easier link solution is not understood by enfold.
This question to have an easier solution for social marketing comes since 2013, referenced in Google for Specific search

    enfold social media documentation shortcodes

Some users don’t want to have a share button. A link to the social media profiles is also often requested (instead only in footer or header), without any discussion of the GDPR-Note for social share-buttons. I can’t understand, why not into the “share” element a dropdown is implemented for seleting “share” or “open social media profile”, as we have defined in Enfold.

Despite the many requests over the years.

Many other themes have had simple solutions here for years.

Why you can’t find a solution here, I can’t deduce. Instead, we have to go into some “debug” menus and do some manual work.
I can’t understand, why you make Enfold users the work difficulty.

I mean: We have defined the Social Profiles in Enfold. I can’t deduce why this stupid share-bar with these old-fashioned icons is not updated. And you don’t have a widget for sidebar or the website.

Creating something like this must be a feat for Enfold that is impossible to create: yes, I know we should install the 30121 plugin additionally.

It would be nice, if you implement this feature in your roadmap, which is requested again and again very often since 2013. (See google).
Instead to create the same answers.

Dear Support? I must ask again:

When is it fixed with the border line, which isn’t defined, but there between section?

This borderline is also in conflict with the contact form layout. If I change borders to white, in every case, the contact form borders also penetrated.

I want to ask again: When do you fix the undefined section border lines? Today, manual CSS coding must be done.

    Thx

I deny that very few of them have any idea what we are discussing here. And what needs to be done, even without Borlabs. Not everyone has this configuration from you. Chat bots, analytics, infinite variables. Everything would have to be deactivated, every user has to be careful. Or Enfold, as a customer-oriented provider, make work easier for your users. And when you’re in a stressful situation, you’re not thinking about something like GDPR and controlling everything that would be relevant to GDPR. The one with the field was an example of an exclusion function that would be easy to implement for everyone in Enfold’s maintenance mode. Think about: There are easy people, which want to have a cool easy page, without any deeper knowledge and understanding of this topic. Only Enfold can create an easy process for this, to have happy users and free shoulders.

Hi.

in reply to: GPDR disable maps and webfonts per default #1231217

in reply to: Contact Form Spam with Enfold Numeric Captcha #1231197

    Dear Blanche,

This issue is known since years. It’s sad, that Kriesi can’t solve it.
The bots can send this form without check the validation check box, which should impossible to send for humans without acceptance. Another funny fairytale from Enfold.

We have asked a skilled dev to add 4 rows of code with fake fields. Since this, we don’t must use reCAPTCHA, loading scripts from 3rd sources or use a bad equation solver, which destroy any conversation rate. No reCAPTCHA, no equation. No bots.no spam.
Go to freelancer.com, search for projoomexperts and ask for that “enfold honeypot solution”. :-)

    Good luck

in reply to: Maintenance mode – SO not allowed #1231164

    Good Morning.

I don’t understand this sad discussion, why you don’t just create two fields on your part. Then the discussion would be over and your users would be safe without a handicraft tricky solution.

Ok, it’s seemed it’s to difficulty to insert two fields, which are excluded from maintenance. To make it easy for all enfold users, which don’t read this thread and give enfold the trust, all is ok and secured.

    View post on imgur.com

Other plugins, which I want to prevent, can do this. I didn’t know that this could only be solved from Enfold with maximum programming performance.

And I don’t like discuss lawyer topics. As I mentioned above. The winners are always the lawyers, independent on which party is the game played.

And I disagree Günni and Günther. It’s not so easy. If you send any data and without an active opt-in before the data send, the Privacy must be available. What you forgot is tracking, fonts, CDN, chatbots, scripts which are embedded like proven experts, extra plugins for marketing etc, etc. You can try e-recht24 privacy generators, what you must check All this must deactivated or available in privacy with an active opt-in. Alone, that you have hosted a website on a hosting service and that IPs are logged in every case is a rule, about your users must inform. I’m a member of e-recht24 and I visit all live castings about privacy.

    Dear Guenter,

Thank you for self-answering your question, as there is a need for action from Enfold. Thank you very much.

Just the fact that two courts decide differently shows that there can be umpteen instances. And there are many more verdicts. If you are in the social media, if you place an advertisement or write a guest article that violates the law or is illegal, then there must be an imprint. Very simple.

You really don’t have to have this trouble. And seriously: If someone wants to sue you for copyright infringement or you have advertising on other channels, and there is a text passage in the Google cache with copyright infringements, but the imprint is not available: Then you will hang. And just the possibility of loading Google Fonts or not having Google Analytics turned off will be expensive. It is not at all helpful to discuss this. Instead, Enfold simply takes the safe route. And no, the name and a phone number is not enough. Fatal, what you say here. Google Fonts, Analytics etc. All is automatically loaded, if you have no pre-experience in rights.

For the Federal Court of Justice, a speeder is a murderer, for other courts it’s just negligent homicide.

So what game shall we play?

Just getting a lawyer and going through the courts with all those sleepless nights and thousands Euros: You may be the type to give yourself up to someone else for 25.000 € for the rest of your life. Most of your users are not this type of human. And most Mainteance Plugin have this functions.

So: Just implement checkbox: Privacy and Imprint must show. Without any pain and discussion.

Have you ever been in court with a good lawyer: He will tell you how it works: by his nose! There is a saying among lawyers. Basically two:

First: “In court and on the high seas, you’re in God’s hands”?
Second. “Lawyer always wins, no matter which side he’s on. He has the money.”

    Dear Enfold User,

As long as Enfold don’t see the requirement for Rank Zero and SERP Optimization, you can sadly do what you want.
A schema Block must implement like in Accordion or something else. How should detect a plugin, what is your question and the answer?
Or you create your schema as own code.

It was discussed here for example
    Schema – Mission Impossible
    And here
    Schema
    and 2018 also requested
    Schema 2018
    etc…

    Or you try:

    Dear Yigit,

    Wow, great news.
Please test other pages from real users, what Google Lighthouse say. Like to many BOM Elements. Please take in account that users have multiple sections and not demo pages.
And please take a look, how can you improve the Schema.org elements like FAQ or other sections?

    Thanks Yigit,

    in reply to: Enfold 4.7.5 – Gap: 50px .flex_column_table #1221292

It is always an Enfold issue that things have to be changed, and we then have to change this ourselves at our expense to our clients. This is very rude of Enfold and not fair.

Many of us have been using Enfold for years, and we have accepted many things and built the rules the way they were delivered. For new users this is ok. But to change existing things just like that. I don’t see this explicitly described in the change log either.

And how often did the answer come: “You can change it manually. Enfold doesn’t care about that. We override you. No matter what you say.” That is, what i understand, what you’re want telling me. I find it very sassy and encroaching.

    Strange.

I’m asking you what a hidden element off-screen with aesthetics has to offer: No answer.

I’m asking you if you can show me with examples how the effect of positioning something off-screen can be with hidden elements in front-end: No Answer

I ask you if you can clarify how Google sees this. You ask me the question as repeat. You see my answer at the end of this thread, what is the difficulty at this point.

Although Google explicitly says: Please do not place anything off-screen. You know, there’s a lot of controversy is Google reads CSS and JS correctly. Google scans specifically for look for black-hat methods like white-on-white or off-screen elements. Google can exactly decide, what is off-screen. Google Read css and search for triggers.

Why are you playing with fire?

Why can’t you just change it if there is no aesthetic impact at all and you keep coming up with new adventurous stories.

Where are your examples? On rank 100 in Google? Okay, I found something from a bad block forum post from 2010. There is your example.
And to be sure to see good examples that Google thinks are good too, I looked at the results in Google’s top10. Just to make sure that no rotten tomatoes and techniques from rotten forums from 1998 are sold here.
I looked at the top 10 results in Google. Where I know for sure that Google doesn’t penalize here and rewards clean code.

Like W3C, Codepen and the shown FAQ-Accordion in Google Search Result as main point, which give me a good hint: here is nothing hit by violate guidelines and what google dislike.

Nobody uses off-screen stuff on hidden elements from this results. As best working example: google himself with FAQ-Result at Rank 0.
The rule is: content:hidden is ok, but not off-screen. It should at the same place. All 10 prominent examples have the hidden elements at the same place.

And if you are honest to yourself: There is
no aesthetic reason, to align hidden elements off-screen.,
There is no visible effect in frontend.

Or: Show me this. But you can’t

    https://www.mediaevent.de/tutorial/css-accordeon.html
    https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_accordion.asp
    https://codepen.io/raubaca/pen/PZzpVe
    https://www.zella.de/code/accordion-multiple.html
    http://www-db.deis.unibo.it/courses/TW/DOCS/w3schools/howto/howto_js_accordion.asp.html
    https://support.google.com/webmasters/?hl=en#topic=

And if you go even deeper into the Search Console and all the scripts that Enfold delivers It always happens at “fetch as Google” that scripts are not reached. Live Example with a page without wp-rocket:

    Page Resources
    19/32 could not be loaded

Only if you reduce massively scripts and css with wp-rocket, it works well on other pages with similar plugins and of course: Enfold. So: What do you think is the chance that the problem with active vs hidden is not crawled and processed properly by google?

You can get a first impression by looking at
Google Cache for Enfold. It is not the same as in the live view. Example here: Menu bar. This was the first example with a hit for the menu bar, that is not the same result in google cache vs. live page.
And now we talk about the fact that Google understands all your codes? And left-120% can be not fail interpreted? Silly.

What difficulties Google has to evaluate such elements with js and css correctly, you can see here.

    https://www.rebootonline.com/blog/hidden-text-experiment/

So why play with fire? Google’s a crawler. It tries to approach people and reproduce what they might see.

So: in summary: The end user doesn’t see any effects with Left: 120% and you don’t like to fix it. Okay, not my problem. I wanted to help all users get the most out of your pages and improve Enfold.
I’ll just add manual css and that’s it. Just like disable
h1.entry title, 50px padding to 0px, border:none!important while border none is defined in color section, missing social icons in mobile view, rotten overlapping breadcrumps, overlapping logos, logos with no lazy load rule etc. There is an endless filled css box, when an expert use enfold as end user with detail view on all edges.

And to talk with developers about SEO and fine-tuning: It’s like this thread. Senseless and consulting resistant. Like the discussion about Rank Zero Position in Knowledge Graph with good FAQ-Sections, schema-optimized. Which are easy to implement but it seems, it’s an unbreakable iceberg for enfold. Either you have a team that can keep up. Or high-end customer successes are not achievable.

It’s so buggy and so much !important rules must overwrite failed elements and so painful to discuss such senseless elements.
Not much work is put on the finer points of technical SEO. “The main thing”, the site looks good in your eyes on the surface.

If you stop getting better, you stop being good.

    Hi @thinkjarvis

You mean, I should go to >15 clients, hundreds of thousands of pages and go to every section to set a new value?
    I use this:

    #top .flex_column_table {margin-top:0 !important;}

Because the 50px is a new feature inside enfold since last update. I overwrite it and I have the same layout as before.

    Hey Ismael,

I want to learn a little more about enfolds “aesthetic hidden content” below inactive elements. I need to understand, what you mean. It’s cool, if you can create two screenshots with the difference, that i can understand.
Please tell me more about the difference between

    left: 0%!important;
    and
    left: 120%;

in both layouts and aesthetic with screenshots.
I want to understand, what you mean, if you say, it’s for aesthetic. If I use the checkbox in the developer tools and switch between both options, I can’t see any differences. Only the inactive grey field moves to the original position. I must trust you, that this has any effect in layout for this element.
If you say “all websites”: Can we process this in googles example below, where this is used in the same way? And can you show me, how google know it, that Enfolds rule is not determined as the mentioned “don’t Using CSS to position text off-screen” since only mobile first indexing is active?

    Dear Victoria,

I have the same problems as above. And most other Enfold clients also, to get the best benefit from SEO-Point and User Experience.

What do you think, if your Devs set the right value for this? Instead, to disable significant things, which Google honor. It’s one argument inside your source code.
This should deliver as standard. It’s common standard for a many years and fundamental.
I can’t understand such answer: “Ok, turn it off” It’s the same, as you go to the doctor with pain in your leg. “It’s broken, you should never use it again. We cut it away.”!

    Disable LazyLoad on an image
If you want to disable LazyLoad on a specific image, you can do so by adding either:

    the data-skip-lazy attribute
    or the skip-lazy class
    to the img HTML tag.

    https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/performance/lazy-loading-guidance/images-and-video

And if you have no knowledge about web-fundamentals, SEO and ranking criterias and what is the effect for Enfold clients: Than you should improve this knowledge, instead to give such unuseful answers. This makes me angry. This helps no-one.
    https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/performance/why-performance-matters

I think, this is not the right way. I have a very critical view for your answers. And every time, if i have similar problems and see your answer: In most cases, i know, we have another view to solve problems. I search for good solution. I most case, you deliver tricky ways, which solve not the actual problem. In some cases: An very clean, flat, good code, which is oriented to standards and recommendations of w3c and google, bing guidelines etc.
For me, it’s doesn’t matter. I have my dev to fix the unhealthy things. Yes, i have my own “Enfold-Bug-Problem-Fixer” Plugin. Crazy enough, that i must use it.

But for your most users, there are some problems.

I mean: google say not too much about his ranking criteria. But what is official, Enfold should implement it (like Lighthouse as example), reduced BOM-Elements, flat codes, html-sizes and the new Web-Vitals, which are announced as new criteria in 6 Months. And of course the web-fundamentals.

As best example: lazy load including Logo exclusion as one of the first elements.
And sometimes, it helps to take a look into Dev-Console in Chrome, why a page is loading not so fast and what can be improved and which elements are the reason for underperformance.

Good Luck, that Enfold can review this and this will forward to the devs.

With a block time of more than 700 ms, you should think about the impact for all of your user? It’s sad for me to hear, that this important part for all of your clients are not in focus. You should study, what a 850 ms impact is: 7% lost of users and conversion rate. If you sell products for 100 USD to 1000 clients, you can estimate how much is the sum.

Loading time is a major factor in page abandonment and loyalty; 53% of users report that they abandon sites that take more than three seconds to load (source: SOASTA Google study report).

Users visit more often, stay longer, search more, and buy more frequently on sites that load quickly than on slower ones; one company found that a conversion increase of 7% resulted from a speed improvement of as little as .85 seconds (source: WPO Stats).

Slow loading is detrimental for search engine optimization (SEO) because it can lower your site’s ranking, resulting in fewer visits, reads, and conversions; in 2018, Google will implement site speed as a ranking signal in its mobile searches (source: Search Engine Land.

    Web Fundamentals – Performance

    It’s really sad what’s happening.

    Dear Ismael,

    Thanks for your reply. But:
At which place is it to insert? Is it not possible to use it as standard or give users the option per toggle inside Enfold Options to turn it on or off?
    Performance->Show advanced options
    Is “Swap” a recommended option?

    Dear @Günter,

any news, when this update is released?

PS: We see also many things at speed measuring and performance test. The big impact are fonts, for example local hosted and uploaded into enfold like open-sans or others.
This fonts create a massive render blocking time.

Here is, what a caching expert of wp-rocket say: I hope, you can implement this or take a look, it is useful.

Fonts are render-blocking regardless of whether they are loaded locally or from a remote server.

To avoid that, the font-display: swap; attribute should be set when loading fonts from within CSS files:
    /wp-content/uploads/dynamic_avia/enfold.css

@Pixelbits. This has nothing at all to do with “Golden Support”. This is a disregard for wishes, such as fixing the bug that makes it almost impossible to use Enfold since the last update. Instead of a quick fix “In a few days”, hundreds or thousands of people are sitting at home alone with some temporary solutions for a month. And I don’t feel like doing any workarounds or manual manipulations on any settings for dozens of clients. This is ignorant behavior from @Kriesi, which happens over and over again since years with easy to detect bugs with stupid consequences for the users. Like this error in the backend.
It’s simply a demand that our Enfold runs properly and that cooks, bankers and artists don’t have to do any manipulations. This demand should be placed. And that is also a right, not even a wish. We have the right for a functional theme without any bugs and a minimum bug fix time within few days, not month.
Instead, they are working on a next update, although it has been proven that the bug fix does not work for everyone, if you read the threads.

we will test a bit further and release in a few days hopefully.

    Dear support,

What do you mean by “a few days”? After 25 Days? Many users are waiting for this bug fix update and there are really many requests for it, right? I would very much appreciate it, if this bug-fix would be released first and then work on other, maybe not so heavy things.
