    Walter Pisarnik

    Hi Kriesi,

If I want to upgrade from RealEstateBlog Version: 3.2 By ThemePix.com to Enfold, what do I have to prepare to have a clean upgrade?

    Folders, Menus, Layout, etc.

    Hey Walter,

If you current theme uses the default WordPress editor then you should be able to import most of your content into Enfold. It won’t be added as layouts in the Layout Builder though, so you would most likely have to recreate your site using the Layout Builder in Enfold.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

in other words, I will most likely have to work with all pages in the Layout Builder to make the website good looking?

is there any special steps I should follow before adding Enfold

    #1191815

    Hey Walter,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Yes, once you switch from default editor to Advanced Layout Builder, your content should show up inside Text Block element. You can simply add new elements to your page and correct the layout.

No, there is no special steps you would need to take. We would recommend you to create a testing environment and switch to Enfold there, then you can migrate your site from testing to your live server :)

I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit,

Will create a dev folder to test.
In Enfold I will have to switch from default editor to Advanced Layout Builder with each page?

there is no way to change on age and then all will be changed?

    LG Walter

    #1192126

    Hi Walter,

The first time you edit the page then you will have to select the Layout Builder, after that you shouldn’t have to select it anymore, it should appear automatically.

    Hi Support,

Question do you have a money-back guarantee?

    Walter

    #1195007

    Hi Walter,

If you don’t like or don’t want the theme then you can request a refund via Envato/Themeforest.

    Rikard,

I purchased the Enfold Theme and was trying to install, but it did not work, can you help, please?

    LG Walter

    the error message is;

    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
    Theme installation failed.

    Walter Pisarnik

Hi Support – any answer for the above error?

    LG Walter

    #1195162

    Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, the error:

The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet

means that you are uploading the theme file that includes the “extras” and is not the theme itself.
The “enfold.zip” you want to upload has these files:
    2020-03-21_180126.png
Try looking in your theme file for another zip file named “enfold.zip”, that will be the one you want to upload.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Walter Pisarnik

upload into the theme or as plugin?

    #1195324

    Hi,
You would upload the “enfold.zip” file into the “WordPress > Appearance > Themes > Add New”

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Walter Pisarnik

what is the enfold-child.zip and the psd.zip

do i have to install them in plugins?

    Walter

    #1195767

    Hi Walter,

enfold-child.zip can be uploaded as a theme if you want to run a child theme. psd.zip contains only .psd files and should not be uploaded to WordPress.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1196351

    Walter Pisarnik

    enfold-child.zip is just a black/basic theme
but recommended in your documentation why?

    what are the PSD file?

    Walter

    #1196361

    Hi,
The child theme is recommended because often people wish to make customizations to the theme core files.
It is a good choice to also use the child theme so you can make changes in the future if you wish.
Just to be clear, if you want to use the child theme you must upload the enfold.zip & the enfold-child.zip and then activate the child theme as your main theme, it pulls the files needed from the enfold.zip
The PSD files are for an old way of creating a WordPress theme, this is not done anymore, please just ignore.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Are you saying, if I want to make changes in the main theme Enfold, I should use the Child Theme?
    Is this correct?

I am trying to understand, it is a little confusing. the help document

    Walter

    #1197563

    Hi Walter,

Yes that is correct, a child theme is used to override the parent so that changes are safe during updates. If you change any of the core files in the parent, then those changes will be overwritten on updates. If they are placed in the child, then they will be safe.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1197632

    Walter Pisarnik

So you work only in the child theme, never in the original Enfold theme – if you do not use the default layouts – correct

You have also different theme layout, where can I see and test them.
to test I just activate them obe I have them downloaded. If I find them

Sorry for all the questions, but I have to understand first how you worked and designed the Themes

    LG Walter

    #1197812

    Hi Walter Pisarnik,

You can import different theme demos and test them, but you’ll need to remove the imported content then when you’re done exploring.

Here are the docs for you:

    Hi Walter,

It seems like you chose to display “Member & Sponsor” menu as mega menu. Please go to Apperance > Menus and edit your “Member & Sponsor” menu item and uncheck “use as mega menu” option :)
