Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the menu styling of my website http://www.saru-academy.de. To be honest I don’t know what happened. The styling of the menu isn’t implemented anymore all of the sudden although I can see that there aren’t any changes in the theme options where I adjusted the styling.
I use Thrive Architect but not for the menu. This issue is critical for the mobile version because you can hardly see the menu.
Can anyone help me here please?Best regards
SaruNovember 18, 2020 at 6:51 am #1261211Hey Saru82,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.7.6.4) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 20, 2020 at 10:41 am #1261743Hi Rikard,
the theme is already updated. I updated everything before reaching out to you. I also deactivated all plugins to see if there is a broken plugin. But it didn’t help. Do you have any other idea?
Best regards
November 21, 2020 at 11:57 am #1261913Hi,
Thanks for the update. You are running version 4.6.3.1, and the latest version is 4.7.6.4, please try updating to that. Also make sure to clear the cache from your caching plugin, or disable the plugin temporarily.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 21, 2020 at 2:05 pm #1261954Hi Rikard,
you are right. I haven’t looked at the version number. But: When I check under Dashboard –> Updates it says that all themes (I only have Enfold) have the latest version. How can I update the theme if there is no updating-option? I’m a little stumped here :-/
Best regards,
TanjaNovember 21, 2020 at 10:38 pm #1262030Hi Saru82,
Please install the Envato Market Plugin, this way you’ll be able to see the update.

November 23, 2020 at 3:01 pm #1262397Hi Saru82,
Please backup your site first, then try to do the following steps (this is just a workaround):
1. Login to ThemeForest and download the Enfold theme, right-click over the downloaded zip file and extract/unzip it.
2. It should generate a new folder, open it and look for the enfold folder
3. Right-click the enfold folder then zip it, here’s a tutorial on how to create a zip file in windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/668409/how-to-zip-and-unzip-files-on-windows-10/ (this should create enfold.zip
4. Log in to WordPress as and Admin.
5. Install and activate a maintenance plugin and put your site in Maintenance mode.
6. Go to Appearance > Themes, switch to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty then delete Enfold.
7. Click on the ADD NEW button.
8. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
9. Click BROWSE and choose enfold.zip file
10. Click the INSTALL NOW button and switch to Enfold or your child theme.
11. Remove the maintenance mode then deactivate and remove the maintenance plugin.Best regards,
NikkoNovember 23, 2020 at 9:08 pm #1262473Hi Nikko,
thanks a lot for your helpful answer. Before I delete the current Enfold version I need to know if everything will look the same afterwards. I am using Thrive Architect. Could this be a problem?
Best regards
TanjaNovember 24, 2020 at 11:12 am #1262622Hi Tanja,
I would suggest to backup first your current version of Enfold, so incase you will have issues then you can revert to that version.
With regards to thrive architect, if it will have an issue, please try the solution posted in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/thrive-architect-not-loading-in-enfold/#post-1244652
A user in this thread said it worked for him: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/pb-editeur-de-formulaire-plugin-thrive-leads-et-enfold/#post-1245655Best regards,
NikkoNovember 24, 2020 at 11:54 am #1262628Hi Nikko,
the update worked fine. Everything is looking like before – but the problem with the menu as well… The exact problem is that I styled the menu with enfold (pink and bigger font, white background) but it just doesn’t show it like this. The font is blue like a link, smaller as intended and the background is transparent – especially on mobile version it makes the menu worthless. Why isn’t it shown the way I styled it? Do you have any other idea?
Best regards
TanjaNovember 24, 2020 at 1:16 pm #1262644I hid the mobile menu now. That’s not ideal but better than the current state.
Since the backup I have a new problem: There is a comment section on the homepage now and I don’t know how to delete that. Can you help me with that please?
Best regards
TanjaNovember 24, 2020 at 2:40 pm #1262672Hi Tanja,
This is now working.
The reason why it’s not working before was in Enfold > General Styling > Socket (tab) > Changing background color, this was the value there: ##c6a530
Which causes invalid CSS and some setting in Theme Options related to CSS did not work.Best regards,
NikkoNovember 24, 2020 at 2:45 pm #1262679YES!!! Thank you so much, Nikko!
(Now I only need to find out how to get rid of the comment section on the homepage…)
