“Spinning wheel on modify page, ajax call”
I was just about to post to this… Im not sure who to inform, Wordfence or you guys but Ill confirm what @babayard is saying.
If Wordfences new firewall is enabled you cannot modify any pages because the admin-ajax.php is flagged error 403 when checking the console.
I had not tried the “learning mode” then switching to Firewall-enabled again. But I can confirm disabling it resolves this problem.
Good luck guys :)
Hey guys, looks like this was a problem with the HTACCESS file and Wordfence configuration. Think I got it sorted out. You can ignore this. Thanks.
No wordfence, and running latest version of WP
are you running wordfence? if so, disable the firewall.
also update to latest wordpress, there are bugfixes there.
if you have wordfence shut off the firewall.
also update to the latest wordpress, there are some bug fixes in it which might help.
I just updated to wordpress 4.5.1 and enfold 3.5.4 with wordfence 6.1.4
wordfence firewall enabled, avia advanced editor spins
wordfence firewall disabled, avia advanced editor works.
hello
try to reactivate wordfence,
put the firewall in wordfence in learning mode. Edit a page with avia.
put the wordfence firewall in normal mode (activate, not learning mode)
it has worked for me.
try disabling wordfence firewall, that has resolved a few other folk’s issues.
after test, the wordfence security plug in is in cause. when i disable it, it is ok
I sent my login credentials yesterday.
I am seeing in this forum that wordfence can be an issue, though I do not have wordfence installed on this site.
Please Advise.
Hey!
We checked for the compatibility with the plugin and enfold theme. All the elements in the advanced layout builder works fine when the firewall in Wordfence was enabled on our installation.
Regards,
Vinay
the only thing I can think of without digging into code is to run a virus / malware scan on your site to ensure you don’t have any extra code injected into your files, or extra files being created. I like wordfence personally, but it looks like there might be an issue with it and enfold right now.
Thanks Beyond,
I am not using Wordfence on this site.
I removed tinymce files completely for this install.
.htaccess file is clean, there is no firewall references in this file.
Hard reset and still nothing happening
two things I did to resolve similar problem:
1. deactivate wordfence firewall if running and remove references in .htaccess file
2. updated ~/your/website/wp-includes/js/tinymce/ files in core wordpress install via FTP

I disabled the wordfence firewall and it works now.
Hi,
If you have Wordfence installed, try to switch the firewall to learning mode for a while.
Best regards!

try disabling the new wordfence firewall feature. that fixed it for me.
Hello,
I use Enfold for 6 websites. Recently I have noticed that the Wordfence plugin interferes with the Avia Layout Builder that comes with Enfold, not allowing me to edit elements within the builder on all 6 sites.
When I deactivate Wordfence I can then edit as normal but once I re-activate Wordfence the same thing happens.
I have increased PHP memory limit to 256 but that doesn’t help.
I have also raised a support ticket with Wordfence outlining the same information.
I thought I would get in touch for advice and if you are aware of this plugin conflict.
Thank you
I deleted my Wordfence plugin would that help, or would the lines in the .htaccess stay there still.
I’ll take a look.
added some ides to the other post about this.
check for lingering wordfence WAF entries in your .htaccess files
I shut off the wordfence firewall feature and my avia advanced editor is working now. The rest of wordfence is up and running.
check your .htaccess file for the wordfence WAF entry to see if that was not removed properly. it starts with this code
# Wordfence WAF

Are you running the Wordfence plugin?
I had exactly the same issue until I deactivated one of my plugins, ‘Wordfence Security’. When I re-activated it the Avia layout Builder just hangs …
I am quite sure this is a security thingy. At least for me it is. I deactivated Wordfence Firewall*** and got it working somewhat. Still I get the errors – but it works.
The XSS Auditor refused to execute a script in ‘http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3944&action=edit&lang=en&message=1’ because its source code was found within the request. The auditor was enabled as the server sent neither an ‘X-XSS-Protection’ nor ‘Content-Security-Policy’ header.
*** there was an update in the Wordfence plugin last week where the firewall was implemented.
Hi guys,
I’m still working on the issue.
I have fixed the update error with adding the new code to the functions page. Now the spinner is not loading, I have Wordfence which I have deleted, and also reset all caches plus checked on different browsers.
I shut off al plugins and still the spinner editor.
Im going to remove Wordfence completely, and do a reset on all caches.
Fingers crossed, back in 10.
Andy
UPDATE: So I have found that 75% of my pages don’t load the editor, and a few select page do still work…
I’ll keep working on the issue, maybe need some tech help.
All plugins are off too.
