I also had this issue with the ALB and Wordfence, and turning the firewall off, then setting it to learning mode did fix the issue. The instructions in the Wordfence panel recommend letting the firewall learn for a week before enabling it, and I had not done that.
May 16, 2016 at 5:41 pm #633174Thanks for the suggestion on WordFence. Yup, I had the same issue trying to open up Text Blocks. Some would open, others would NOT open and I would get the error. Extended Learning Mode for WordFence for another couple of weeks and I will see how it goes.
What was strange was that some Text Blocks would open, others would not.
Thank you.
May 16, 2016 at 5:36 pm #633167Just out of curiosity I Disabled the Firewall feature inside the Wordfence plugin while it was still running and presto – I was able to edit the element icon inside the cell.
Hopefully others can learn from my experience.
(please close thread – resolved)Great job on the Enfold Theme!

Hi,
As per Andy’s instructions via email, I tried disabling plugins one by one and it appears as though the Wordfence Security plugin was the issue. I’ll play around with the plugin’s settings to see if I can resolve this.
Thanks guys!
May 16, 2016 at 3:19 pm #632980Hi,

Hi,
Other users have reported that putting WordFence in learning mode helped, could you try that please?

Hi,
Hacked? How’s that? Try to install security plugins to protect your installation. However, some of these plugins may cause script conflicts in the theme.

I have the same problem – wordfence error…

I updated Enfold to latest version @Yigit.
Seems like it’s Wordfence Security plugin that’s causing the issue. It never did it before.
Do you have any clue on how to allow Wordfence to run again without causing issues? Thanks
Antonio
May 13, 2016 at 6:41 am #631833Hi,
I’ve got a similar problem on Enfold 3.5.4, WordPress 4.5.2.
I’ve tried disabling all plugins, including WordFence. Have added the functions.php script. Have switched back to a default theme. And tried other ideas listed on the forum.
Seems to be happening to a lot of people.
Can you please have a look for me.
May 13, 2016 at 3:37 am #631758Hi there
I’m also experiencing this conflict with Enfold and Wordfence. Some of my text containers on pages when I go to edit them come up with the error message: Error fetching content – please reload the page and try again. When I disable WF its fine, but I really need that plugin to be enabled.
Any updates on this issue?May 12, 2016 at 1:28 pm #631332In reply to: SVG and Avia Layout Architect
Hey!
You are most welcome :)
If you are using another caching plugin with Wordfence try and disable minify js feature in Wordfence settings and check if that solves the problem.
You can also use an alternate plugin for security please check out recommend plugins https://kriesi.at/support/topic/recommended-plugins/Best regards,

Hey Vinay,
many thanks for your help. That was a good hint. Wordfence is causing the conflict. So I think it would a good idea to involve them to find a solution.
Thanks again,

@wgnolte: Do you have the FTP or cpanel login details with you? Please post it in the private content field. We’ll add it for you.
@StrategyDriven: Glad it worked. If you have the time, please open this issue in the WordFence support forum.Best regards,
IsmaelMay 12, 2016 at 12:58 am #631044Wow. This is what I love about Enfold. The community/tech support team is so large and proactive that you can find the solution to almost any issue in a minute.
I had the exact same issue, googled the error string, found this post, saw the Wordfence conflict, too the advice to put WF in learning mode and try the triggering actions, and the solution worked. I set WF back to Enabled after letting it learn the “suspicious” editing actions I was taking in the editor, and the warning is gone.
I recently tried a competitor’s theme, immediately ran into issues, and the tech support experience was miles behind the Enfold experience.
Nice work, everyone!
May 11, 2016 at 10:12 pm #630986Hi Basilis
A solution is to whitelist your IP address in Wordfence so it bypasses all the rules. Then it works fine and saves you having to disable the plugin. That is why it worked for our developer and not for me…

May 11, 2016 at 9:58 pm #630980Hey!
I am afraid, we can not do much to that.
We can not work out a solution with WordFence blocking it.
Please do contact the plugin developers for further informations regarding thatRegards,
BasilisMay 11, 2016 at 7:42 pm #630923Hi
That worked for me – looks like we were working on the same problem as our developer noticed in Google debugger that wordfence was blocking the action. Unfortunately white listing the ajax action does not work – you have to disable the Wordfence plugin. Also another strange thing was that he could edit the same pages fine on his computer with Wordfence enabled whereas I could not on mine. So hope this info helps.
JoMay 11, 2016 at 7:40 pm #630921Putting Wordfence in learning mode solved this for me.
May 11, 2016 at 7:28 pm #630917I get this same error now – have to disable Wordfence on all my Enfold sites… not acceptable.
Please update – thanks!
May 11, 2016 at 7:00 pm #630905Just a heads up…I determined that Wordfence plugin is causing this issue (at least for me).
If you have this plugin enabled, disable and see if you can get it work and report back.

May 11, 2016 at 4:53 pm #630832Got the same message while trying to edit content with Avia layout builder. Problem was that Wordfence firewall blocked requests to admin-ajax.php

Sorry about that. I have unblocked all countries in wordfence – you should be able to access the site now.
Thank you
May 10, 2016 at 3:56 pm #630009Hi Ismael,
Thank you for the thread. I too am using WordFence and put the Firewall into learning mode from active and cleared my caches. That immediately resolved my issue.
I greatly appreciate your help and support!
Enjoy the day!

NathanMay 10, 2016 at 10:45 am #629790Hi,
Thank you for using Enfold and we are very sorry for the delay.
@wgnolte: Please follow the instructions provided in this sticky thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/having-problems-after-updating-to-wordpress-4-5-please-read-this-first/
@StrategyDriven: We are getting this recurring error in the console even if we’re not in the advance layout builder.WebSocket connection to 'wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 403There are tons of plugins installed and one of those might be the cause of the issue. Please deactivate all plugins then test the ALB again.
@Schmiddy: Have you tried to disable the Firewall of the WordFence plugin?Best regards,
IsmaelMay 10, 2016 at 2:28 am #629563Hi!
There are some slides hidden please unhide them.
Both wordfence and W3 Total Cache will compress and minify the js files sometimes this will cause a conflict please do a plugin compatibility test. To find which plugin is causing the conflict please follow these steps:
1. Go to your plugins page > Deactivate all active Plugins
2. Update WordPress and Enfold to latest version if you have not.
3. Make sure all the plugins are updated.
4. If the problem does not persist when plugins are turned off, activate one plugin at a time and refresh until you find the plugin in conflict. We await the results of your plugin compatibility test.
Thanks for your cooperation :)

VinayMay 6, 2016 at 7:59 am #628152Hi,
Thanks, details are working now. I couldn’t see anything strange on the backend though. Did you try disabling all plugins? WordFence might cause issues like this.

be sure to keep an eye on when wordfence firewall is to kick over to active and reset into learning or disable completely until a fix is found to prevent this from happening again.
