    Hi Yvonne,

    First of all you need to get your site cleaned, did you get that done using a service of some sort? It’s not something we can do for you unfortunately. You can use Wordfence like Victoria recommended, or Sucuri. You will need to pay for their services, but I’m sure their tools do a good job.

    If you should need to harden your WordPress installation after the cleaning then there are several ways of strengthening WordPress security.

    I have deactivated Wordfence ánd all other plugin, but the problem keeps existing :-(

    It’s a fresh wp install on a fresh webhosting-account in Siteground….

    I still can’t get into the dashboard. Please disable WordFence temporarily. Did you set the front or welcome page in the Settings > Reading panel back?

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late reply. I would like to revert the changes but I got locked out because of WordFence. I set the front and blog pages in the Enfold > Theme Options panel for both languages and then reset the Settings > Reading options to default. That’s all I did.

    Hey horacioaryan1972,
    The reason your editor is not loading is because you are getting a 403 error:

    
/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php - Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

    Since this is happening only on one page it could be a false positive in your Wordfence firewall, or your hosting firewall. I recommend disabling your Wordfence to see if that helps, if not try asking your webhost if they can see from the server log why you are getting a 403 error.

    Hi,
    Ich hab die Seite bei mir getestet und ich glaube es liegt an den Firewall Plugins (zumindest eines der beiden dürfte den Fehler verursachen). Wenn ich ausgeloggt bin, bekomme ich lauter 404 (Dateien nicht gefunden) Fehler, welche auch die Bilder betreffen. Ich kann mich nach meinem Test auch nicht mehr anmelden, da nun die Fehlermeldung kommt “You have been locked out due to too many attempts to access a file that doesn’t exist.” (kommt von der Defender Firewall). Sofern möglich würde ich diese Plugins deaktivieren (diese werden im Regelfall nicht benötigt) und allenfalls Wordfence installieren. Wenn ihr diese verwenden wollt, müsstet ihr die Plugin-Entwickler anschreiben und anfragen, wo es an der Konfiguration hackt.

    Hey vcfa_it,

    I’m not sure if it’s the cause of your problems or not, but you are getting 520 error on some resources and it looks to be related to WordFence. Could you try deactivating WordFence to see if that helps?

    Probably you’re blocking the access to the /wp-admin/ folder. This also breaks the theme settings page because we use the /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php to submit the settings data. Please make sure no firewalls and wordpress plugins (i.e. wordfence) block the access to this folder.     Thanks Dude. It turned out to be a failed plugin. Not sure if it was an update that went wrong, but replacing wordfence fixed it.
    It took me four hours to get to the bottom of it, but your advice will be useful for the future.

    I’m now going to drop the quick css into the child theme before anything else goes wrong!

    Ismael, the avia-shortcodes folder wasn’t missing to begin with. We downloaded this theme from Theme Forest. As such, it is expected that we receive a full theme package in a zip file. Upon reinstalling the theme, from scratch, again, it resulted in fatal errors. We don’t have Wordfence installed. What do we need to do to get this working?

    Sorry to hear that your website is compromised. Most websites are set up with less or no security at all. Such websites are an easy target for hackers and bots to gain access and take advantage. Some of the security steps you should immediately consider are:

    1. Scan your site with a good WordPress security and antivirus plugin or ask your hosting company to check for any infected scripts that may be the reason for this issue.
    2. Install a Firewall on your site.
    3. Secure your WordPress login page by masking the default wp-admin link using a security plugin.
    4. Disable directory browsing.
    5. Disable access to WordPress backend from an unknown IP address.

    If none of the above help you please go ahead and re-install the theme and plugins files and secure your website. For more information please check the FTP install guide.

    Always backup your website and perform the changes :)

    Hi, I´m really desperate because spam mails are arriving to my inbox through the contact form. I´ve activated the captcha, nonetheless the spam keeps arriving. I´ve installed Wordfence and the spam keeps arriving through the enfold contact form.
    what can I do?? I´ve desactivated the contact form for the time being..
