    Topic: Fatal error defaultarg

    in forum Enfold

    hi,

    there has been somechanges the last 2 years on a website. With wordpress updates and enfold. I now notice a page with masonry gallery is giving a fatal error.
    The error is:
    AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method avia_masonry::default_args() in /home/cs020/domains/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/masonry_gallery/masonry_gallery.php:651\

    Somewhere on the forum I found that ‘i am missing the av-slideshow-helper.php in my child theme’. Which seems to be correct, but I do not know how to obtion this file and in what directory to put it?

    With some old backups I did find a slideshow helper, but this was also missing a default_arg function so this was not of much help.

    My website has crashed after updating to the new version of enfold theme. I have tried both within the desktop where I get this message: Warning: set_time_limit(): Cannot set max execution time limit due to system policy in /customers/d/a/4/xxxx.xx/httpd.www/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php on line 527 where xxxx.xx is my website url (see private content). I ended up getting locked out and could only regain access by removing all plugins and changing theme to twenty twenty-four in php.

    I also tried updating the them by downloading and then uploading from themeforest.

    After spending a very long time with one.com’s help team, they believe there are errors in the theme and advised me to contact you. I would appreciate any guidance you can give as we have literally tried everything to solve this.

    Dear, I have two active WordPress installations on different sites with the Enfold 4.4.1 theme. I want to upgrade both installations to Enfold 5.7. Do I need to purchase a license for each site?
    On the other hand, both installations work in php 7.4.25. Should I previously update the PHP version to update the theme? Thank you so much

    When I try to download a demo theme, I get “Download of files for demo Enfold 2017 didn’t work! You might want to try reloading the page and then try again.” Refreshing doesn’t help. Resetting WordPress with WP Reset didn’t help. How can I download the demo themes?

    Note I tried with another theme, and I got the same response.

    I reset the account’s ini files to very high levels,
    I added
    @ini_set( ‘upload_max_size’ , ‘120M’ );
    @ini_set( ‘post_max_size’, ‘120M’);
    @ini_set( ‘max_execution_time’, ‘300’ );
    to the functions.php file.

    I added define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’); to the wp-config.php file.

    HI,
    We installed a new Enfold license into an updated WordPress website and there is a fatal error that we can’t figure out. The wordpress files don’t have this php file and we tried to add code into the .ini file on the server, but it still there. Can you please let us know what we are missing here?

    Hi!

    For your information:

    Added filter avf_post_ingnore_featured_image_link to next release 5.7.1.

    See https://github.com/KriesiMedia/Enfold-Feature-Requests/issues/97 for links how to use the filter and to update ..\enfold\includes\loop-index.php including this link already.

    Cheers!
    Günter

    Hi,
    Please note that if you updated the theme by trying to overwrite the theme files via FTP, this could cause an error by leaving some old files behind that were not overwritten.
    Try deleting the parent theme Enfold directory, and then upload the new files.
    Another way would be to use your webhost backup files to restore your site, and then disable your child theme and manually update like this:
    First download the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
    WordPress_Appearance_Themes_Add-Themes_Add-New.jpg
    after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
    Installing_theme_from_uploaded_file_This_theme_is_already_installed.jpg
    then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.
    Theme_updated_successfully.jpg
    Then before you enable your child theme ensure that your custom footer.php & header.php files match the current footer.php & header.php, if not this will cause errors in your theme. We do not recommend adding these files to your child theme, it is the most common reason for errors when updating. Please remove these files and any customizations you wish to make should be done in your child theme functions.php
    If you have other customized files in your child theme this could cause errors, try removing these and see if you still have trouble.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    From my host:
    “I am also seeing that the Theme is the one that is taking the most time
    in loading from some tests ran on the backend. You can see here on this
    screenshot:

    https://screengrabs.objects-us-east-1.dream.io/sshooksgateh.png?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=DH97RXM5F96SFJ9N33HF/20240427/us-east-1/s3/aws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20240427T204057Z&X-Amz-Expires=604798&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=3b30f0ceef1b64a141239373be8a11ee2fa440b3e6a41b339182de971aebc48b

    I think the theme might also be at play, at least in resource management,
    not sure if also causing the site to take longer to load. I suggest you
    check with the theme devs if there are suggested PHP limits or any other
    way to lower the theme hooks. Not only that, but I did notice you have
    PHP limits in place on the site. Increasing them could work for the site,
    but best to check with the theme first.”

    Thoughts?

    In reply to: SearchWP

    Hi,
    Thank you for your patience, I set the function above back to the original code from the documentation and then added a custom searchform.php file to your child theme with this:

    <?php
    if( ! defined( 'ABSPATH' ) )   { exit; }

    global $avia_config;

    // Modify the search parameters for custom search URL
    $search_params = apply_filters('avf_frontend_search_form_param', array(
        'placeholder'   => __('Search', 'avia_framework'),
        'search_id'     => 'swps',  // Changed from 's' to 'swps'
        'form_action'   => home_url('/') . '?swp_form%5Bform_id%5D=1', // Appended custom query string
        'ajax_disable'  => false
    ));

    $disable_ajax = $search_params['ajax_disable'] == false ? '' : 'av_disable_ajax_search';

    $icon = av_icon_char('search');
    $class = av_icon_class('search');
    ?>

    <form action="<?php echo $search_params['form_action']; ?>" id="searchform" method="get" class="<?php echo $disable_ajax; ?>">
        <div>
            <input type="submit" value="<?php echo $icon; ?>" id="searchsubmit" class="button <?php echo $class; ?>" />
            <input type="text" id="s" name="<?php echo $search_params['search_id']; ?>" value="<?php echo esc_attr(get_search_query()); ?>" placeholder="<?php echo esc_attr($search_params['placeholder']); ?>" />
        </div>
    </form>

    now your ajax form “Show all results” link points to ?swp_form%5Bform_id%5D=1&swps=
    Enfold_Support_5602.jpeg
    and lands on your custom SearchWP results page:
    Enfold_Support_5604.jpeg

    Best regards,

    Hey peterolle,
    To remove the “Add to Cart” button that changes to “Read More” for products without a price and add the class single_button to the div avia_cart_buttons so the button is centered add this code to the end of your child theme functions.php file in Appearance ▸ Editor:

    add_action('woocommerce_before_shop_loop_item', 'start_custom_output_buffer', 9);
    function start_custom_output_buffer() {
        ob_start();
    }
    add_action('woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item', 'modify_and_end_custom_output_buffer', 25);
    function modify_and_end_custom_output_buffer() {
        $output = ob_get_clean();
        global $product;
        if ('' === $product->get_price()) {
            $output = str_replace("avia_cart_buttons", "avia_cart_buttons single_button", $output);
        }
        echo $output;
    }
    add_filter('woocommerce_loop_add_to_cart_link', 'custom_woocommerce_loop_add_to_cart_link', 10, 2);
    function custom_woocommerce_loop_add_to_cart_link($button, $product) {
        if ('' === $product->get_price()) {
            return '';
        }
        return $button;
    }

    Please ensure to copy the code from the forum and not an email notification so the symbols are not converted.
    This is the expected results:
    Enfold_Support_5600.jpeg

    Best regards,
    Mike

    I haven’t the foggiest idea if this CORS thing is related to the theme, but when I copy/pasted those error/warnings to dreamhost support, this was their response. . . before I do anything I want to check with y’all so I don’t break something:
    “Hello,
    Thank you for contacting DreamHost support, my name is Ryan. Neo has
    left for the day, but I would be happy to assist.

    Thank you for providing the errors. So the information you provided would
    be related to Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). From the two links, I
    do see the links are from external sources.

    -https://static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js/v55bfa2fee65d44688e90c00735ed189a1713218998793.

    -https://analytics.google.com/g/collect?v=2&tid=G-C340SLHPCH&gtm=45je44o0v9130446013za200&_p=1714105001507&gcd=13l3l3l3l1&npa=0&dma=0&cid=251425839.1713672402&ul=en-us&sr=1792×1120&ir=1&pscdl=noapi&_eu=EA&_s=1&sid=1714104991&sct=16&seg=1&dl=https%3A%2F%2Fgatehealing.com%2F&dr=https%3A%2F%2Fgatehealing.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Dwpfastestcacheoptions&dt=Counseling%20In%20Austin%20For%20Individuals%20%26%20Couples%20%7C%20Gate%20Healing%20PLLC&en=page_view&_ee=1&ep.anonymize_ip=true&tfd=8329%E2%80%9D

    So those external links did have issues, which are limited due to the
    CORS setup. You can enable Cross Origin Resource Sharing on your site
    which should help with the issues. For more information, please see the
    following:

    https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037198972-CORS-headers

    CORS headers are added to an .htaccess file in your site’s main
    directory. View the following article for further details.

    https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215747598-Setting-headers-with-an-htaccess-file

    By setting the desired CORS setting in the .htaccess you can allow those
    locations, you can either set the domain itself, or you can set specific
    urls. You can try adding those values to see if it does help with the
    issues. Some users do need to enable it for their setup, for example if
    your images are being uploaded and cached by Jetpack directly as they are
    cached and loaded from the Jetpack url and not your domain directly.

    If you have any other questions or issues please let me know. We are
    always happy to help.”

    Hello Ismael,
    yes, I also thought this was the right way to store the translation. But unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. Please try it yourself on your own test installation. For me, the translation only works if I change the text directly in the PHP file (class-form-generator.php).
    Nothing changes for me via the .po file. I have changed the code on line 13620 – 13622 in :

    #: framework/php/class-form-generator.php:257
    msgid "Found errors in the following field(s):"
    msgstr "Fehler wurden in folgenden Feld(ern) gefunden:"

    Unfortunately without success!
    Perhaps the error is elsewhere.

    Hi there,

    We have a client that is using the enfold theme. They have a really old version – 4.5.7.

    It’s not working when we update PHP to 8+

    How can they go about getting an update to their theme?

    #1440876

    Well – i think there is no filter to do the job.
    The lines in source code of loop-index.php are on elegant blog and big preview image from line 386ff

    if you comment these line out :

    and then use instead of echo a return in the snippet:

    function av_remove_featured_image_link($image) {
        if (is_single()) {
            $image = get_the_post_thumbnail( $current_post['the_id'], 'full' );
        }
        return $image;
    }
    add_filter('avf_post_featured_image_link','av_remove_featured_image_link', 10, 1);

    then it will come to your result:

    Hi

    thanks. I’m not able to copy the page and so on. This is why I use Enfold, not having to deal with this knowledge. As the site must be connected to the host (hostpoint.ch) it has to happen on the real site.

    Thank you beeing so kind to find the problem.

    Maybe it would be better to switch to some one with german language skills? As I wrote: switching form php 7.4 to 8.1 is not working only for this site: http://www.jmbuettner.ch (log in see above). All others work fine: http://www.hammerstrasse.ch / http://www.familienfoto.ch / http://www.constitutio.info and so on (all of these Enfold theme.
    For background info: see the treat I had for the same site a view weeks ago: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/blog-eintrage-lange-unlimitiert-einsatz-von-php-einstellungen/#post-1439384
    regards
    Dominic

    Hey Lorena,

    First of all you need access to a Themeforest account which has bought the theme license, after that then the update to 5.7 has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
    You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or upload the theme as if it was new under Appearance->Themes->Add New Theme.
    If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
    Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Enfold is compatible with the latest versions of WordPress, PHP and MySQL.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Dear All. I am managing a site that has been developed in WordPress and has an active installation with the Enfond 4.4.1 theme. I do not have the registration data for the installation. Is it still possible to update to version 5.7? On the other hand, I would like to know the compatibility of the latest version with WordPress, php, and MySQL. I await your comments on how to perform the update in this case. Thank you so much.

    #1440814

    Hi,
    Without FTP access, and you are not using a child theme you could use the WP Code plugin then add a new snippet, in the top right corner use the PHP snippet as the code type:
    Enfold_Support_2680.jpeg
    then add the code from the solution and it should work.
    If you can not add the plugin, and you don’t have FTP access or a child theme, then unfortunately you will not be able to make this customization.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1440783

    Hi Ismael

    thanks for fast reply: No, I did not. See screenshot on private content.
    Does it have to do with the fact that I use Enfold Child? As my provider will stop PHP 7.4 in the near future; i would be sure to build this website on a good basis :-)
    Any other suggestiions?
    regards
    Dominic

    #1440741

    Hi,

    Sorry for the confusion. The changes above are not necessary because the error text is already included in the template file and it should be translatable. We added the translation in the enfold/lang/de_AT.po and enfold/lang/de_DE.po files, line 13620:

    #: framework/php/class-form-generator.php:257
    msgid "Found errors in the following field(s):"
    msgstr "Fehler wurden in folgenden Feld(ern) gefunden:"

    Hello Ismael,
    Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, this does not change the issue. I had hoped that the translated text output would be possible via the “.po” files. It is a pity that this is not the case.
    I have now changed the file “class-form-generator.php:257” accordingly. That seems to work for now.
    I hope that a fix will be created soon, as my change may cause problems elsewhere.
    Best regards
    LoMoe

    Appreciated. But that does not change the errors in the actual enfold files even if we comment all this out. There is some bug right in the Enfold WooCommerce filters itself:

    Hey Anne,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    You may need to create a robots.txt file to establish specific rules for search engines and determine whether certain files are allowed to be indexed or not.

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
    Noindex: /wp-content/
    Noindex: /wp-includes/

    Please check the links below for more info and examples:

    Hello,

    I had to update a site for a client. The site has to go from version 4.7.6.1 to 5.7. The PHP was also updated.

    It already is using a Child Theme. I was able to manually upload the new theme. But now the Child theme still sticks to the old version. I didn’t get a notification that I already uploaded the same theme. So now in the theme section I’ve the Child theme and the old and new version of the Enfold Parent theme.

    How can I solve this without losing everything?
