I can’t get the website up to be able to be logged into but was able to get the wp-config file to list the issues on the white screen, listed in the private section.

I disabled the plugins through FTP to see if that would work to get the website up but it didn’t.

Past that, I don’t know what to do.

    Help!!!

    Thank you.

    Hey Micheal,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Based on the error message provided, looks like the class-object-properties.php file within the enfold/framework/php/base-classes/ directory cannot be found or loaded. Please try to download the latest version of the theme from your Themeforest account, access your server via S/FTP, remove the existing enfold theme or folder, and then manually upload the updated version.

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Failed opening required ‘/home/reducted/public_html/cp24.reducted.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/base-classes/class-object-properties.php

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello,

I previously deleted the then current Enfold theme from the website from the WordPress theme section and then used FTP to upload the most recent Enfold theme. When uploading the new folder with the latest version of Enfold I could see that the previous Enfold version was removed, including the folder.

What else can I do to resolve this?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

When uploading the new folder with the latest version of Enfold I could see that the previous Enfold version was removed, including the folder.

What do you mean? Can you you activate the latest version after uploading it via FTP? Before doing this, please make sure to export the theme options from the Enfold > Import/Export panel. You can then import it back once the the theme is updated.

If a child theme is active and includes template modifications, make sure that you also update the template files to match the latest version.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello,

I am using a child theme. In the past I have uploaded the latest version through FTP and everything worked fine, I didn’t have to do anything with the child theme before.

How do I update the child theme template files?

To answer your question, once I upload the latest version of enfold and activate the child theme it crashes. This is what I have always done in the past and everything worked.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
Please note that if you updated the theme by trying to overwrite the theme files via FTP, this could cause an error by leaving some old files behind that were not overwritten.
Try deleting the parent theme Enfold directory, and then upload the new files.
Another way would be to use your webhost backup files to restore your site, and then disable your child theme and manually update like this:
First download the latest installable WP version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
    WordPress_Appearance_Themes_Add-Themes_Add-New.jpg
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
    Installing_theme_from_uploaded_file_This_theme_is_already_installed.jpg
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.
    Theme_updated_successfully.jpg
Then before you enable your child theme ensure that your custom footer.php & header.php files match the current footer.php & header.php, if not this will cause errors in your theme. We do not recommend adding these files to your child theme, it is the most common reason for errors when updating. Please remove these files and any customizations you wish to make should be done in your child theme functions.php
If you have other customized files in your child theme this could cause errors, try removing these and see if you still have trouble.

    Best regards,
    Mike

I will try uploading the theme through WordPress, I upload it through FTP. I always uninstall the existing theme before installing the new and I check the folder to make sure it has has been completely removed before I install the new one.

I will try what you suggested and let you know what happens.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I wanted to give you on update on the progress.

I followed your advice “Another way would be to use your webhost backup files to restore your site, and then disable your child theme and manually update like this:”

So from the dashboard I went to themes and deleted the Enfold Theme and used the upload new theme from the themes dashboard and it worked perfectly. Normally I do all of this manually with FTP but I like this way better.

    Thank you for your help!!
