Using the visual editor with the special heading as 2/3 and then an image as 1/3 with longer headings they do not wrap but extend past the div.

Topic: issue with image display
Hi,
I have finally launched my website but I still need some fix. Some major ones but I had to put my site online to make it easier for you to help me.

These are the very last problems I have to resolve:
1- My website looks great on safari and firefox and on Chrome on an old PC I’ve got, but on my MacBook Pro on chrome it’s a mess.
– The light grungde background in my footer doesn’t display, instead I have only the color I have chosen for the footer.
– The background I have chose for the part before the footer (where you can see icon boxes) appeared black. Since the screenshot I have manage to fix it but I’m still not sure if it’s really fixed. Moreover the header sometimes rapidly “flashes ” black as well when you upload a page on computer or on iPad.
– And the worst of all…The navigation bar that minimized when you scroll down is transparent. I already had that problem with safari at the very beginning of my work and I put this in the quick CSS. It fixed everything on safari but not on chrome.

2- When on iPad, my slider was not responsive. The image was not the width of the screen and you couldn’t see it entirely. For example the round on the first slider was on the right. As my slider is: slider width 100%, slider height 310 I have added “responsive under 1140” and it seems to adjust things but the picture is still a bit aligned right. The thing is on ipad when I change the ipad from vertical position to horizontal it takes some time now to adjust. How can I fix this?
3- I have a wysija newsletter plugin. I had it on my last theme and it worked perfectly but on this theme when someone subscribe, there is a problem with the box where the person is supposed to have the message “thanks for registering to the newsletter ..”

These are the three major issue I have and if fixed I could sleep better at night ;-) I am a newbie and I don’t know where I should look to fix these things. I really appreciate your help.

• Ability for an Avia Builder Image block’s link to target _blank instead of opening in the same window.
Any link anywhere should IMO always allow for target choice..
Easy Slider
• Ability to show image caption and/or title..
• Touch (like RoyalSlider).
Avia Layout Sidebar
• Look like regular sidebar styling-wise.. I use them only because they remain visible in mobile-mode, but don’t like the look so much.. The regular ones look better to me.
Filtering Portfolio Menu
• Bigger, maybe in boxes piling up one on top of the other like a menu.. the way it is now you need tiny little fingers to access on mobile/tablet..
Portfolio Grid
• Ability to choose if the title box of the image (with the little triangle pointing up into the image) “eats away” at the original image or is aligned below the image without cropping it at all so as to respect its proportions.. The way it is set up no it crops the image both at top and bottom (for example here my images that are originally squares get cropped top and bottom http://www.lamuseboutique.com/be-inspired/).
• More “organic” alignement to allow various heights for grid elements an not look so square/rigid (as seen here: http://www.uiueux.com/wp/webzine/). I also like how there is space between the elements in that theme… would be very nice to be able to add a few pixels of space as one wishes.

a. Header – Currently I’m using a background color for the header. I want a background image that repeats just like the image in my stash. The height is 100px but I can adjust it if someone here can recommend what is the ideal height for a gradient header background image ? I have tried in the enfold menu but the there’s a portion that repeats vertically so I’m guessing I need to either increase the height of the header background image or decrease the size of the header height ?
b. Logo – I’m having a hard time uploading the logo correctly. It says I need to upload a 200 x 100 logo but when I do, it shrinks the logo. What is the ideal logo size especially if the logo is a transparent png like mine ? As of now this is the logo size I wanted but I want to be sure this is flexible in different browsers.

c.) On mobile, I can’t view the portfolio item I have created but in my mac it works fine. In io6 or android chrome it shows a 404 error page.
d.) The latest enfold version is 1.6 right ? I have downloaded it in themeforest and uploaded via ftp ( cyberduck ) and it’s pretty sluggish. When I check the version its still 1.5.1 ? Any thoughts on this ?
e.) How do you hide the titles for the pages , I have hidden the breadcrums for you are now here etc. But the page title underneath the logo still shows up.

I´m using “single author, big preview pic” blog mode.
I want to show the photos in full size (for example 800px / 600px), because it is a photoblog. (not 710px / 248px)
Is there a possibility to add a custom css or something else?

You should probably Import the Dummy Data then check the default LayerSlider that comes with the theme. They usually use text images.

It’s a similar look, it’s a gallery with thumbnails… when you click the thumbnail, it will load either a larger image in the lightbox or a video in the lightbox. I used two different size images just to show versatility

Hi,
If you show me the pages , I can give you the css, but off the image I can’t do it. You can add advanced layout editor to the blog posts as well if you want.
However I can target the css for the fix aimed specifically at pages so that blog posts will not be touched.The vertical blog separator could be added as you said with an image or by adding another div into the code and mimicking the way its done on the normal sidebar. Let me see the two pages and I can quickly make one look like the other.

It is not in the Portfolio Grid but in the Avia Gallery that we want to be able to show video’s in the Lightbox.
We want to create our own thumbnail images for each video and than want to be able to link that image to a youtube, vimeo or selfhosted video. Have a look at http://www.vizspecialeffects.nl/projects/ford-focus/ . First image is a preview to a video but in the gallery we would like to have images as well as video’s that show/play in the lightbox.
We read the post https://kriesi.at/support/topic/linking-gallery-images-to-url and thought that might be a solution.
But we can’t get that solution working, and even than we would have to provide url’s for all images as well as videos.

I’m using Enfold on an customer’s page, such a great thing!
But there are some problems with the Advanced Layerslider.
I’ ve created 4 slides containing image and text elements with several styles, options, links and attributes.
At slide 4 only a few settings can be made, then the slider will disappear and with it the entire landing page, where it is placed.
Removing some settings and the slider is back…
Is it a known problem, what can I do? (php memory is raised up to 256mb already – should be enough)

I had WP Super Cache but now I deleted it.
I added the code on functions.php.
If I check Avia Layout Builder, loading image is shown in the Avia Layout Builder.
If I uncheck it, there is nothing.
I added the code at the bottom of functions.php. Is it OK?
FYI: when loading image is shown and then click update, 403 page is shown.

I have found the functionality you refer to by updating to version 1.6
Alas, I don’t think it’s quite what I’m looking for.
This new feature allows a portfolio preview to link to a different location than the default, (which would be the portfolio entry itself).
What I am looking for is a way to use the gallery feature, in a page or a portfolio, to link to individual videos, which then display in LightBox on that page.
Currently, clicking on a preview image in a gallery grid simply displays an enlargement of that image.
I would like to be able to display a video by clicking on a preview image in a gallery gird.
I was really hoping there’s a work around for this!

No I didn’t do anything I was just looking over my images and suddenly there is was. Had it twice over the last week. If I have any more info I will let you know. I mainly put it on here to see if anyone else had it and maybe could problem solve.

Create a page. Go to Advance Layout Editor, under Content Element, insert the Portfolio Grid element. Configure the options like 4 columns, number of posts and select the category you want. You can now create portfolio items then set a featured image for each entry.

I don’t really understand what you mean. There isn’t a single “function” that is editable to output that.
Do you mean you just added it in via a shortcode instead of using the Layout Editor? If so, you can us the items-‘100’ parameter like so:

Try it with different image sizes. Not every image size will work with your content. It isn’t going to be a one size fits all solution with this kind of thing and really does need to be hand tweaked. So if you don’t want to change the image, stretch to fit is your best option. Otherwise you need to use a different, more properly cropped image.
For instance, in this video https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/64927358 I use the demo background image. Using the exact same demo file and setting it to No Repeat instead of stretch to fit I get the same effect: http://www.screenr.com/WD2H

Hi Devin. My image is over 1200px wide, so in boxed-layout mode, there is no need to set the option called “stretch to fit”. The effect seems to work, but there is a major gap above and below the image when scrolling. I really think there is a bug when using the no-repeat option with fixed mode. I attached a screen shot below. Would be great to see some videos on this feature. Especially with my parameters. I have lost hours on trying to get this to work. Thanks
