    Personally I think the percentage change is a way for users to unintentionally weigh down a page by re-sizing full res images which in turn adds unneeded bloat to a page. There are a few ways to approach it otherwise:

    – Use column shortcodes to wrap your images into the size you want them and the content into the layout you want.

    – You can also add your own image sizes to WordPress so that you have them as a selection when adding an image to content. You can do this for your client(s) so they then have choices. This plugin lets you do that from within WordPress http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/

    When adding in an image where you want to link to a full resolution you should and can link to that full resolution even while inserting a thumbnail of the image. This prevents the page from needing to actually load in the full resolution image in the first place (how galleries work).

    Hi!

    You can always use the built-in WordPress media editor to resize/crop images.

    In reply to: Maximum Logo Width

    Hi!

    Please upload your logo in Enfold theme options and add following code to Quick CSS under Styling tab

    .fixed_header.social_header #main { padding-top: 187px; }
    .logo, .logo a, .logo img { max-width: 562px!important; }

    then please refer to this post to increase the header height to 156px https://kriesi.at/support/topic/change-logo-image-for-scrolled-header/#post-188003

    Hi, I use a masonry sorting blog here:
    http://noblewhy.com/blog-resources/

    On the top of the blog where the category sorting is, is there any way to change that background? I have the image background across all my pages and want to keep that, but is there any way to just change the color of the sorting bar? Thanks!

    Topic: Custom logo issue

    Hi,
    I wanted first to thank you for the Enfold theme, it is great and I enjoyed working with it. With that, I would need some advise concerning the logo: I tried every single solution (and there are lots of these) to have our logo showing properly, on web pages, iPad and iPhone. It didn’t work, the only way I could do it was by replacing the default logo image in the theme file system while I am using a child theme for other customizations.

    Each time I tried to upload and use our logo in the child theme admin it has been automatically re-sized (downsized) for some strange reason.

    Any idea?

    Thanks!
    Serge.

    @Richard Olpin +1 for your requests. Custom boxes would also help me a lot … or at least it would be helpful to be able to add custom css fields to layout elements (as requested before). But custom boxes (with option for background-color, background-image, border … ) would be even better.
    And another request – I don´t know if it has been asked before. It would be nice to have a “process element” like seen here or here. I know I could use the iconlist element, but I prefer to have a horizontal display of each step. Thanks.

    Hallo,
    ich habe ein Problem mit eurem tollen Theme.

    1. Ich würde gerne die Prettyphoto Lightbox deaktivieren und dafür das installierte Responsive Lightbox Plugin verwenden. Das deaktivieren folgender Zeilen hat in der avia.js hat leider nicht den gewünschten Erfolg gebracht

    //activates the prettyphoto lightbox
            $(container).avia_activate_lightbox({callback:'avia_lightbox_callback'});

    Desweiteren werden in meinem Portfolio und im Slider die Fotos im Hochformat nicht richtig dargestellt. Sie werden immer auf die Slider Größe gestreckt.

    Auf einer Beispielseite könnt Ihr das Problem sehen.
    http://www.fotos-braun.de/wp/test-kriesi/

    Meine Quick CSS sieht so aus:

    .title_container { display: none; }
    .responsive .mobile_menu_tablet .main_menu { display:block; }

    #top div .avia-gallery .avia-gallery-big, #top div .avia-gallery .avia-gallery-big img{
    float: none;
    text-align: center;
    width: auto;
    }

    Vielen Dank schon mal

    Hi there,

    I’m new to the theme. Love it but banging head against wall for hours now.

    So I’ve created a portfolio item as per instructions. I had it working for the Ajax portfolio preview settings so that when you clicked on it, it opened up and I had an accordion thing going on the side that looked great (copied & pasted code from example). I was using the dummy set up and slowly taking things out as I changed them. So it worked when I had all the dummy categories etc. working along with it. Then I clicked into “portfolio grid” on the page I was using the image in and only highlighted the new portfolio item category (rather than all the existing categories there) and saved it. Now none of the portfolio items open and all go to a “nothing found” page… even though I tried going back and highlighting all of the categories again to see if that did anything (so I’ve obviously done something else without realising it).

    The permalink is: http://66.147.244.98/~flavorye/portfolio-item/i-see-you/ It is published and public.
    I have used the default setting for “Overwrite Portfolio Link setting”
    When I click on this link: http://66.147.244.98/~flavorye/portfolio/portfolio-ajax/ I can see the image. When I click on the image I get “nothing found”.

    The same with the existing example: http://66.147.244.98/~flavorye/portfolio-item/slider-two-third/ ‎ (also published & public and pretty much the same settings as I copied it).

    please help. I’m not sure what’s gone wrong and this theme isn’t super intuitive for those who haven’t used anything like it before. :( It seems the lightbox function isn’t working, though it wasn’t disabled.

    In reply to: Enfold Showcase

    @dalen550 Although the site you mentioned is using a different theme (I did consider that one before I bought Enfold) you could do a similar look just using regular images and use the CSS animations to have them animate as they appear. Sure it wouldn’t have the rollovers, but it would still be pretty cool.

    “The best way to insert your images if you want them a specific size is to re-size the actual image to that size before hand”

    Furthermore, many images need to be viewed at full resolution: the features of WordPress is designed precisely to use the lightbox…
    I can not imagine full resolution images in a blog post…

    #218751

    Have you guys already found a solution? I like to do the same (4 or 5 images per row). I use Size Setting ‘Flexible Masonry’: http://www.cadeaugolf.nl. Or does it only work using smaller images? Maybe with a short code or custom.css code?

    #218747

    Would love to be able to do this : make those two 1/3 sections goes under the 2/3?
    layout
    it’s possible by doing that:
    Add the 2/3 and 1/3 column then insert a Text Block inside the 2/3 column. Edit the text block then add a column shortcode.
    But it’s very hard to manage…

    thanks

    The best way to insert your images if you want them a specific size is to re-size the actual image to that size before hand

    Hum… perharps for a webmaster, yes, but what about our clients ? I can’t imagine to tell us : ‘please use Photoshop to resize your images before upload them to you websites” !

    Resizing image in wordpress is a built-in feature of wordpress that anybody use, and you have juste removed it with two lines of CSS :(

    Yes, you have add many pictures sizes within your templates, but it can’t be used for all the images, in my site (a magazine), the pictures has never the same sizes…

    helle Dude and Josue

    @Josue
    My site is not online yet…
    But about the Breadcrumbs and as it do not works when we use pages as blogs : I removed it

    Now my only problems is the active link whis is not highlight is the main and sub menu. I think it is normal because if i’m on post page the menu can’t know that because my main menu is only related to pages !

    You gave us the possibility to build blogs inside pages (right, this is really pretry cool with masonry) but know you have to tell the mainmenu to deal with that…
    Below, a screnshot of a page of my site that display a masonry blog content with multiple categories)
    page blog
    If i click on one post entry i go into a post and the highlight activelink menu do no work, it goes to a normal color…

    Update on moving footer background image with slider: only seems to happen in Chrome browser.

    #218720

    Hey Yigit,

    Thank you for your help! I had to change it to:

    .tab_inner_content a img

    Now it works!

    Thanks! One small thing though. The banner/logo is a bit out of proportion vertically (stretched) in normal phone view – looks great horizontally.

    If I could possibly bug you about one more thing: If you look on the Services page, I have an easy slider set up with some placeholder pics. I have a fixed repeating main background image and also a fixed repeating background image in the footer area. Please note that when the slideshow advances, the image in the footer area moves around and also part of it quickly changes to black, then back to the image. Any idea why that might be happening?

    Thanks again!

    In reply to: WPML tweaks on Enfold

    Hi!

    1) Normally Enfold will display the WPML flags in the top navigation menu. If you want to add the flags to the main menu add following code to the functions.php file (insert it at the very bottom of the file)

    if(!function_exists('avia_append_lang_flags'))
    {
    	//first append search item to main menu
    	add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'avia_append_lang_flags', 10, 2 );

    	function avia_append_lang_flags( $items, $args )
    	{
    	    if ((is_object($args) && $args->theme_location == 'avia'))
    	    {
    	        global $avia_config;
    	        global $sitepress;
    			$languages = icl_get_languages('skip_missing=0&orderby=custom');

    			if(is_array($languages))
    			{
    				foreach($languages as $lang)
    				{
    					$currentlang = (ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == $lang['language_code']) ? 'avia_current_lang' : '';

    					if(is_home() || is_front_page()) $lang['url'] = $sitepress->language_url($lang['language_code']);

    					$items .= "<li class='language_".$lang['language_code']." $currentlang'><a href='".$lang['url']."'>";
    					$items .= "	<span class='language_flag'><img title='".$lang['native_name']."' src='".$lang['country_flag_url']."' /></span>";
    					$items .= "</a></li>";
    				}
    			}
    	    }
    	    return $items;
    	}
    }

    2+3) You can try to use a negative margin-top to re-position the flags (i.e. above the main menu links).

    4) In the code I posted above replace

    if(is_home() || is_front_page()) $lang['url'] = $sitepress->language_url($lang['language_code']);

    with

    if(is_home() || is_front_page()) $lang['url'] = $sitepress->language_url($lang['language_code']);
    if(ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == 'ar') $lang['country_flag_url'] = 'http://my-custom-flag.png';

    and instead of http://my-custom-flag.png insert the url to your flag image.

    Best regards,
    Peter

    Hey codemode!

    That’s not a good solution because the thumbnails will be blurry. You can install this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ which should allow you to change the thumbnail size permanently.

    In reply to: IMG – Global JQUERY

    Hi!

    You can use Magic Zoom and add following code at the very bottom of wp-content/themes/replete/config-woocommerce/woocommerce-mod.js

    (function($){
        $(document).ready(function()
        {
            $('.single-product-main-image>.images .MagicScroll a').attr('rel','zoom-id: MagicZoomImage_Main;');
        });
    })( jQuery );

    to overwrite the lightbox effect with the zoom effect. Then go to the Magic Zoom option panel and select “Scroll thumbnails” – “yes” and the thumbnails should be linked to the zoom plugin.

    Cheers!
    Peter

    Hi,

    The copyrights are aligned to the left. How can I add two sets of copyrights? One aligned to the left and one aligned to the right?
    Similarly to what is happening now with this forum, check the image: http://d.pr/i/Mlbq/47Cm6RXf

    The difference is that it will be only text for both sides (not menu items).

    Thank you

    Hi,

    I am looking for a different solution with the WPML Flags on Enfold and I am looking for something like this:

    1) No language text needed (i.e. English), just two flags side by side
    2) Flags should go ABOVE the last menu item on desktop.
    3) On iPhone / responsive, it should show BELOW the drop-down menu
    4) Finally, there is a flag that I would like to change the image: sitepress-multilingual-cms/res/flags/ar.png – I know I can easily replace the image directly on that directory, but is there a better Quick CSS way to point that flag to a different image?

    I’m not sure if these are all easy, but all help one can give is welcome.
    Thank you.
