I got rid of WP-Database manager and an SEO plugin (can’t remember the name), and the problem seems to have disappeared.
Can you recommend a good SEO plugin that works with Enfold? In your opinion, do you think I need one with this theme?
September 21, 2013 at 7:32 pm #164509In reply to: 404 Error when trying to access Author Archive
Hello back Josue,
The default theme works as expected – the archive is displayed. Switch back to Enfold and author archive still generates a 404 error. I am less worried about this than I was, because the problem does not show up on our live site, just the development installation.

Hello!
You should go to ThemeForest.net and login with the account you have purchased Enfold and then go to “Downloads” on ThemeForest and download Enfold. Newest version will be downloaded.

Here’s the link. http://www.amequipment.com/enfold-example/
Installed Plugins are:
Browsers I’ve tested it on are Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on iMac OS X 10.8.4 and Firefox on two PC’s, one with Windows 7 and one with Windows Vista.
My apologies to Ishmael, I was a bit too testy. It was the middle of the night here in Oregon.
My purpose is to have one column of blog posts to cover the technical aspects of the products and a second column that is more news and general interests.

Hi willsmith777!
Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Enfold as well. Recently version 2.2 was released.
For a quick guide on updating your theme take a look at this video on updating the Enfold theme via FTP: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750Regards,

Ok I think that makes good sense to me and I will try my had at doing that. But a general question that you may know as you deal with the theme so much. Without just “knowing” How does one find/determine all the parent files that individually call the comments.php?

ParticipantHello Kriesi,
I’m really enjoying your Enfold theme but unfortunately since I updated WordPress to it’s newest version… the layer slider doesn’t work anymore… it flashes an error message that says:
***********************************************************************************************************************************************************
“LayerSlider: old jQuery issue
It looks like you are using an old version (1.10.2) of the jQuery library. LayerSlider requires at least version 1.7.0 or newer. If you are using the WordPress version of LayerSlider, you can try out the “jQuery Updater” plugin from the WP plugin depository. If you don’t know what to do, you can write us a private message from our CodeCanyon profile page. We need a temporary WP admin account (or a temporary FTP account in some cases) to solve this issue.”
**********************************************************************************************************************************************************What should I do to correct this issue?
Thanks,
Will-

September 21, 2013 at 4:49 pm #164471Hi Yigit
I would be glad to recieve some CSS Fix fpor this issue…
As you say “Somehow found a way” was to add a picture and a Woo Product Price / Cart Button, but it isent looking that great..The optimal would be to use Avia layout Builder, and the Plugin Additions “Product Grid or Product Slider” With one or two products filling the with of my 1/3 page..
Do you know how to make this work ?
Thanks

YigitSeptember 21, 2013 at 3:26 pm #164453In reply to: Theme Conflict
Hey jberickson!
Not really any conflicts but you will probably want to re-build the majority of your pages (which is a lot easier with Enfold than with Corona). Depending on how you did the page layouts you may need to on some pages but not on others.
The page builder from Corona has been retired and the new advanced layout builder is now how you handle page layouts but its done on the actual page instead of from the Template builder section.
Enfold also uses a new shortcode structure in preparation for moving the shortcodes to a plugin which will then mean you can migrate the shortcodes between themes and never have to worry about re-doing your shortcodes again. Coronas however will need to be re-done when you switch over.
Cheers!

Muchas gracias!
September 21, 2013 at 1:37 pm #164429The problem arises when you shrink the window until you get horizontal scrollbars and then scroll over to the right.
The screenshot is on the homepage.

September 21, 2013 at 12:08 pm #164403In reply to: Child theme functions-enfold file
The comments file is being called by other files within the parent. For example, in the single.php file it gets included by this line:
//wordpress function that loads the comments template "comments.php" comments_template( '/includes/comments.php');So why would your file not be included? Because the single.php isn’t pointing to your file its pointing to the file in the parent theme includes folder.
You would then need to include the single.php file in your child theme as well so that it points to your child theme includes folder and the coments.php file inside it.
Or, you could include the single.php file and change where it finds the comments.php file(maybe making it just in the general child theme files by changing the line to just comments.php).
September 21, 2013 at 11:41 am #164388Hello Eleina_Shinn!
You can try forcing it by adding !important ie ” top: 150px!important ”
And you are currently using Enfold version 1.8.4. Recently version 2.2 released and since 1.8.4 many bugs are fixed and improvements have done. I would recommend you to updae your theme
For a quick guide on updating your theme take a look at this video on updating the Enfold theme via FTP: https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes/67209750Best regards,

Hey Peter,
I used UltraEdit, man what a difference from Notepad.
Anyhow, I pasted the google analytics snippet just before the closing </head> tag, per Google’s instructions. Well it’s not exactly before because on the Enfold theme there is a note to leave “wp_head()” just before the closing </head> tag, so I put the snippet just above that note’s <?php
Still not able to verify the site though. Any assistance is appreciated.
Best regards,
Chris*EDIT* or should the snippet be placed in the body on the header.php?

September 21, 2013 at 11:32 am #164384Topic: Problems with Safari 5.1.7 on Windows
in forum Enfoldawilson3rd
ParticipantHello,
I am having quite a few problems with viewing enfold on a safari browser for windows (latest version).
Firstly the font icons in tabs will not show, I get the circle but then just a rectangle in it. Secondly the text looks really bad quality and I am not using any special fonts, just standard. Third, I have a color section with a background image with a fixed background and on that I have 3 icon boxes. The background image on Safari scrolls and also behind the icon boxes there is a block rectangle so I cannot see through.
Sorry but I cannot send a link but I am concerned now because if these significant issues are happening on Safari for windows then is the same thing happening on a MAC (I can’t test on a MAC).
It just looks a mess at the moment.
Thanks
Andrew
September 21, 2013 at 11:06 am #164382In reply to: Child theme functions-enfold file
Devin, can you take this explanation further. I am trying to simply change the text – leave a reply, want to add the the conversation etc.
I found and modified the comments.php file in the parent directory. And then uploaded the entire original file (with modifications) into the child folder. and the text changes aren’t showing up. I am assuming I am missing a step on these not core files.
first a simple question. when you change these types of files, is it best/required to upload the entire original file, or just the mods for files other than core files?
I don’t have any clue what is meant by “you need to actually register that file in your child theme” I tried looking this up but I just keep finding instructions on settign up a child theme.
Can you provide an example of how this works with the coding please.

Hello!
Yes, I’d recommend to edit the file with a proper text editor and to use ftp to download/upload the file (it can be found in the wp-content/themes/enfold/ directory). You can also try an advanced theme editor plugin like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/solid-code-theme-editor/
