    Hi Seichinha

    This time, it is impossible to update Enfold to v.4.5 via the WP dashboard due to API changes from Envato itself. You have to do it manually via FTP.

    Let me describe it step-by-step here:
    1) Make a full backup of your website using a backup plugin.
    2) Safe the backup somewhere outside from the webserver of your website (e.g. on your local computer or in any cloud storage you trust).
    3) Sign out from your WordPress website.
    4) Go to your themeforest account, sign in and download the updated Enfold v4.5 to your computer. Extract it and search for the file enfold.zip. Extract this file as well to already have your folder ready to be uploaded.
    5) Sign in to FTP or SFTP using FileZilla or any other tool which is able to do that.
    6) Go to the folder ./wp-content/themes and search for “enfold”. If you want, you can download the enfold folder to your computer as well (just in case you want to restore if afterwards which is easier like that than using the whole backup).
    7) Delete the folder enfold via FTP. This may take 5-10min, depending on the server speed obviously.
    8) Wait until it is finished and the enfold folder is gone. If that is the case, upload the “new” enfold folder including v4.5 to your website in the same directory.
    9) Sign in to your WordPress website again and go to the Enfold tab (or the one from your child theme). Scroll down to the tab called Theme Update.
    10) Your current API token will not work anymore as Envato changed some stuff on their API. Therefore you need to remove your current key and generate a new private key as visible in your themeforest account under “Settings” -> “API keys”. Go to https://build.envato.com and follow the steps there. To me, https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#toggle-id-5 was also very helpful (scroll down a bit there to find out about the permissions your private API key needs in order to check for future Enfold updates). Without these permissions it will not work.
    11) After revalidating your new private key within the Enfold update tab, you should see a blue rectangle saying when it could be checked for the last time.
    12) Done!

    I hope this helps! Feel free to ask me in case you need any assistance.

    Best,
    Michael

    I’m on the Downloads page of Themeforest, but only see the Enfold download, nothing about v4.5. Where would I find that specific file?

    Jon

    EDIT: Doing a search of Enfold v4.5 yeilded nothing, but Enfold 4.5 got me to a page that then got me to another page that shows info for 4.3 and 4.4, but nothing on 4.5, and no link to download anything about 4.3 or 4.4. Here’s the page I did find: https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990?s_rank=1

    Hi KaISBC,

    Here is the code you can put in Enfold > General Styling > Quick Css,  if it does not work, put into themes/enfold/css/custom.css

    .search-result-counter + .big-preview {
        width: 30%;
    }

    If you need further assistance please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hey Axel,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

    1.) Did you set your posts page as blog in the Enfold > Theme Options panel? Are you using the Advance Layout Builder? Please post the site url so that we can check the current setup of the site.

    2.) What do you mean by “add-to-any”? Please provide a screenshot or a link.

    3.) Unfortunately, we don’t or we can’t provide support for third party plugins as stated on our support policy. Please contact the plugin author for more info.

    4.) We need to see the current blog style and layout. Please provide the blog page url.

    5.) There is a font size option in the Enfold > Advanced Styling panel.

    6.) You can also edit the main menu style in the Enfold > Advanced Styling panel.

    We don’t usually entertain more than one question on a single thread because multiple questions can become a bit confusing and difficult for other users who are searching for the same answer. We kindly ask that you open separate threads in the future. Thank you for understanding.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Actually, the following should be known, since it has already been often thematized here. But headings like “white screen of death” or requests for downloads of older versions make it necessary to point this out again.

    A more time consuming method but the safest way to update Enfold is to use the ftp upload.

    To have a backup of the previous version for a rollback, login to your root directory via ftp.

    After unpacking the downloaded zip file rename the new enfold folder to enfold-new.
    Upload this folder to the themes folder.
    When this is done, you can rename the still active enfold folder to enfold-old and rename the enfold-new folder to enfold. This could be done via your ftp-client program.
    Ideally by that method the page should be offline only for a few seconds.

    Now see if your site works according to your wishes.
    Individual inconsistencies can certainly be clarified here on board.

    If you have a page that doesn’t work anymore you can rename the Enfold folder to e.g. enfold-neweset and rename the older folder back to enfold.

    Then it is possible to search for the reasons for the behaviour without sending the life site offline.

    Summary:

    • Update via ftp.
    • Rename the downloaded newest version to enfold-new
    • Upload that enfold-new folder to the themes folder
    • Rename your enfold folder to f.e. enfold-old
    • Rename your enfold-new folder to enfold
    • Check if all your existing settings work to your full satisfaction. Yes – then stop here
    • No – delete or rename back the enfold folder back to enfold-new
    • rename the enfold-old folder back to enfold

    I would have refunded your money…20 rude comments ago.

    Hello.. I have search the forum and cannot find anything.. Here is my problem I need to prepopulate a gravity form when a visitor choices a donation option,

    After spending a very long time I have narrowed the problem to the interaction between the Enfold and Gravity forms
    I have a created a test form on the site using Enfold and on (staging) with the default theme.
    https://bgcbeloit.wpengine.com/test-donation?test=yes
    https://bgcbeloit.staging.wpengine.com/test-donation?test=yes

    I am also including screenshots
    http://bgcbeloit.staging.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/new-site_Stateline_Boys_and_Girls_Club.jpg (hosted on WPengine)

    http://bgcbeloit.staging.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/test_donation_–_Stateline_Boys_and_Girls_Club.jpg
    Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide for you to work on this issue

    @migduvednok:
    You probably tried to install the whole zip file with everything including docs etc inside. Please extract that zip file to find the enfold.zip file and try again. This should end up that you will not have the “missing style.css” error again.

    Regarding your other question: A safe place to play around and test new things can for example be provided by a service called “Local by flywheel” – just search for it and you will see what it is.

    Topic: JQuery / Ajax problem

    Hello
    My client is using Enfold but he is encountering a very strange issue that I can not recall …

    Sliders and things like the partner/logo element don’t show up on his website … He can configure them, but on the front they don’t show up.

    I tried to fix it with a plugin “jQuery Updater” and it did solve the problem, however when that plugin is active, the search and the mobile menu stop working …

    Any idea what the problem could be?

    Thank you.

    Hi
    We used the Enfold Template Construction – https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-construction/

    However Enfold Theme Template Failed Google Mobile Friendly Test
    – Clickable elements too close together
    – Content wider than screen

    Any ideas how to rectify this?

    Thanks Dave

    Hey AGOM-AXEL,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

    You can disable the theme’s default schema markup in the Enfold > Layout Builder panel. The theme’s schema is quite basic, so it has to be extended if you really want to structure your pages for search engines. You can use these plugins as alternatives.

    // https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-structuring-markup/
    // https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpsso-schema-json-ld/

    Hi,

    I noticed the website size of zoebooth.com.au is quite large and from my research it seems that it’s because of the 3 masonry galleries that all have large full size images in them. What I thought would be a superior approach would be for the image galleries to load only the thumbnails of the images on the front page and then have the main large images only load if they are clicked (thereby saving space so the site loads faster and is a better user experience and has better SEO). I was wondering if Enfold has an element that can be inserted to achieve this or if there is any input you would have on this.

    Thanks!

    Google Search Console. However, I contacted SiteGround (my hosting service) and now everything should be fixed. Thanks!

    Another question: I tried to access my website from 2 different business organisations and their firewalls both denied access to my site. Same firewalls allow access to sites with same content than mine. Could it be related to Enfold? Any help/suggestion?

    Many Thanks

    Hi,

    I have a website where the client is reporting that menu is overlapping the logo and no mobile menu is being displayed.

    I currently have the mobile menu to activate for smartphones and tablets, but that starts at 990px.

    I searched the forums and tried adding this code, but no luck

    @media only screen and (max-width: 1024px) {
    .av-burger-menu-main {
         display: block!important;
    }
    #top .av_mobile_menu_tablet .av-main-nav .menu-item {
         display: none!important;
    }}

    How can we make the mobile menu display for iPad Pro?

    Hi everyone,
    i already found/checked https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/search/#customize-schemaorg-markup and some of the schema.org/structured data related threads here. Creating a blog post, every single aria element created via the extended layout editor (a textbox, a two-column area etc.) generates a new schema.org-item “blogPost” with content @type “BlogPosting” and text (and the already known problems with missing author etc. -Tags). With some layout elements, a single blog entry generates a handful of “BlogfPosting” elements, while it should be one, obviously.

    Are there plans to fix the automatic schema.org-layout, are there known best practises to customize the helper-markup.php or are any alternative plugins for schema.org-Markup known/recommended to work with Enfold/Aria Layout Elements?

    best regards,
    Richie

    Hi skrziwon,

    Here is the code you can put in Enfold > General Styling > Quick Css,  if it does not work, put into themes/enfold/css/custom.css

    @media only screen and (max-width: 1024px) {
      nav.main_menu, #menu-item-search {
        display: block !important;
      }
      .menu-item {
        display: none;
      }
      .av-burger-menu-main.menu-item-avia-special {
        display: block;
      }
    }

    If you need further assistance please let us know.

    Sorry, the post you are looking for is not available. Maybe you want to perform a search?

    For best search results, mind the following suggestions:

    Always double check your spelling.
    Try similar keywords, for example: tablet instead of laptop.
    Try using more than one keyword.

    Feel like browsing some posts instead?

    Now my website is completely a mess. Please help me and repair it. Thanks

    Thank you!
    Okey, that was partly helpful, I´ve create a Secondary Menu (named Mobile) But, I did´nt found where I can activate it for mobiles. I was searching for it in the section, where I create it, and also in the enfold settings for “Burger/Menu”.

    Do You have another tipp?

    Hey vegasft,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

    The content is saved on a post meta called “_aviaLayoutBuilderCleanData”. Try to search for that info inside the _postmeta table.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi
    we need to rebuild an existing website with Enfold.
    It has more than 3.000 posts – and the post image is not a featured image – it comes from a thumbshot-service.
    The task is:
    Whereever a featured image usualy is used – take a thumbshot
    The thumbshots are generated by the wordpress service and the URL that is needed to generate it, comes from a custom field that already exists.
    Usually i would edit the “loop.php” but since we need to use the thumbshots also for category, search and pages containing a blog-layout grid it would be better to do the replacement on a deeper place of the theme.

    Question: What would be the best place to replace the featured image?

    kind regards Arthur
