    Hello,

    After updating the site with enfold 2.7 and wordpress 3.9 there are some minor issues mentioned.

    In the screen shot the error are highlighted.

    the issues are the social icons, search icon, the top menu is little bit messed up, also if you hover on the image link before there was an indication right now its not showing.

    Hi!

    Thank you for the info.

    Please watch the video Yigit posted. If you’re not comfortable with the following steps, please hire a freelance developer to help you update the theme. Regarding the menu or label as you put it, you can go to Appearance > Menus. Create a new menu then set it as Enfold Primary Menu under Menu Settings. The home page or front options should be included on Enfold > Theme Options panel. If you don’t mind, please post the login details here as a private reply. We will create the menu for you and set your home page.

    Please take some time to review all of the resources in the Theme Documentation as a lot of basic stuff like theme installation, css snippets etc are already available in there with better explanation and awesomeness. Watch some of our Video Tutorials to learn more about the different aspect of the theme. You can also search the forums for queries that has been answered before that might be related to your problem.

    If you find that you still have questions after taking the time on our documentations, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. If you have any requests or you feel like giving us a warm hug? You can definitely post it on our Feature Requests page.

    Regards,

    Hi jhop75!

    Please add following code to Quick CSS in Enfold theme options under Styling tab

    .search-results .sidebar, .search-results .extra-mini-title { display: none !important; }

    Cheers!

    Hi!

    Glad it is working now.

    When you search the same topic over the forum, you’ll see that updating the theme files or commenting then uncommenting the error line mentioned above fixed the issue for all of them. We’re not entirely certain why it’s happening but luckily it can be fix.

    Cheers!

    Hi folks,

    I would like to edit my search result page in this way: dont show sidebars (last comments etc). and dont show the small “header” (“5 results..”).

    I found this one already, which is hopefully the answer for me, but the code isnt available anymore: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfolds-results-page-customization/

    Thank you in advance!

    Oh, ok. Yes, maybe it’s not compatible with Enfold but let’s wait for Kriesi’s feedback.

    Topic: Taxonomy filter

    in forum Enfold
    jhmpcsolutions

    I have a taxonomy filter on my site that I use to filer posts.

    This filter works if I switch the theme to genesis. When I select an author for example it will filter to just that authors posts by producing the URL http://website.com/?post_type=post&authors=brennan-rt&s=

    The same URL using the Enfold theme brings up a empty page that says;

    New Search
    If you are not happy with the results below please do another search
    and then a search box

    Any ideas as to why the taxonomy filter is not working with this theme?

    Hi!

    Thank you for using the theme.

    @jliamgrist
    : What is the font that you set on Enfold > Styling > Heading Font? If you want to add a google font on the layer slider, go to the LayerSlider panel. Look for the Load Google Fonts then search for the google font that you want on the google font library.

    Hello,
    i updated to 2.9 (via updatefunction in wordpress) and tried to use the new magazine layout. but it seems, the css is missing (?)

    you can see the problem here http://www.wohnluft.de/

    BTW: its not visible on the menu on your livepage, but i found it due the search button http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/home-v10-magazine/

    Hey!

    Sure thing, just use this:

    .avia-icon-list .iconlist_icon {
    border-radius: 0;
    }

    Hey jdrijver!

    No, it is not an easy target for hackers any more than any other theme is a target for “hackers”. Kriesi has had the theme audited by professional security experts and any time WordPress or the WordPress community has found a common issue the theme has been updated in turn.

    If you feel the search form in the header is an issue you can very easily disable it from the theme options in the Header tab.

    Regards,
    Devin

    Hi There,

    We have encountered a serious amount of errors causing a heavy weight on our servers.
    Our tech-guy concludes that Enfold seems to be an easy target for hackers.
    He thinks that the search field and / footer might be vulnerable.

    Hereby I send you the Logfile. (in which we have changed the domein to XdomainXcustomerX.
    Please have a look and let us know how to solve this.

    Hi,
    I did the newest enfold update via autoupdate/Dashboard this morning.
    The problem is still here:
    In iexplorer and in Firefox, all font face symbols are broken.

    You can see the problem on my startsite. http://medientanz.de.
    The search button in the header is working on Chrome. It is not visible in IExpolrer , you can see a broken symbol in firefox. …

    Or here: http://medientanz.de/freiheit/
    The big symbol is broken in firefox:

    All htacess fixes from font- squirrel are not working.
    Tried the wp font face plug in. Not working.
    Deaktivated all plug ins. Not working

    It is a returning problem. Some of the enfold auto updates are working correct with font-face. Some of them are not working…
    After the last two auto updates, all font – face symbols are broken.

    Please, inform Kriesi
    Thank you

    Thomas

    Hello everyone,

    I consider using a “before after slider” for a site wide project using Enfold.
    Has anyone used and implemented this type of plugin responsively coupled with Enfold?
    How successful was/is it? Which would you recommend, if any? WHare are the hurdles?

    There are several BAS around available from Codecanyon:
    http://codecanyon.net/search?utf8=✓&term=+before+and+&category=wordpress&new_term=before+and+after

    For the sake of documentation, this question has already been asked a year ago without much of a success success:
    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/before-and-after-slider/#post-27853

    Time was ripe to bring it forth again. Thx for sharing experience, if any.

    hey guys, on more thing – i know its a little beyond customization support – for enfold – but:
    we need the search bar inside the main nav.
    would that be possible with a shortcode in the main nav and a script inside the functions file?

    Please add following code to Quick CSS in Enfold theme options under Styling tab

    .avia-content-slider .slide-meta { display: none; }
    #js_sort_items { display: none; }

    you can change widgets inside Displayed Everywhere widget area in Appearance > Widgets to change the sidebar on search page.
    You can also choose any widget areas of your portfolio item page – http://i.imgur.com/mNDvpU3.png
    2- Link is not working so i am not sure if i understood your question correctly. Can you elaborate?

    Hi!

    This sounds like a database issue. If you’ve a database backup I recommend to restore it (just delete the corrupt data in the database and import the backup sql file). If you don’t have a database backup you can solve the issue by resetting the theme options but this also means you must reconfigure the options. Open up a database management tool like and navigate to your wordpress database. Click on “wp_options” and search for the field with the “option_name” value “avia_options_enfold”. Delete this option field and then you should be able to access your website again.

    If you can access the php.ini file open up the file and search for:

    memory_limit

    Replace the value after the = sign with 128M.

    You can also try to insert this code at the bottom of the theme functions.php file:

    @ini_set('memory_limit', '128M');

    – however if the host restricts the memory to i.e. 64M this code will not work. To test your memory limit install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-memory-usage/

    When you add social network in Enfold theme options, the one on the top goes first, then second and so on. You can simlp change their order in Enfold theme options > Header > Extra Elements tab

    Hey Ismael, now I can upload pictures with plugins activated. I guess everything is ok for now. I hope my research has enabled me to get the best plugins for the task at hand. Thanks for your help, and I’ll keep working on EternityBeginsNow.com

    David

    I have the same problem and i did some research:

    On a clean WordPress install (without enfold activated) everything was working fine. When I activate Enfold everything went really slow. And all my page where gone. When I enabled debugging i saw that WordPress was throwing database error “WordPress database error: [MySQL server has gone away]”.

    I think something went wrong inside the theme but I have no clue where

    Thank you for using the theme.

    I’m sorry but the parallax fix on iOS device is not included on 2.6.3 update or I’m just mistaken. Please check the changelog here.

    Hi!

    You can find the file in the enfold/css folder (It’s called base.css). However I recommend to overwrite the default width with:

    #top .frm_forms .input-text, #top .frm_forms input[type="text"], #top .frm_forms input[type="input"], #top .frm_forms input[type="password"], #top .frm_forms input[type="email"], #top .frm_forms input[type="number"], #top .frm_forms input[type="url"], #top .frm_forms input[type="tel"], #top .frm_forms input[type="search"], #top .frm_forms textarea, #top .frm_forms select { width: auto;  }

    – you can place this code into the quick css field
    Best regards,
    Peter

    Hey Ismael, thanks for your reply, I’m encountering the same problem again with me not being able to change a picture, with no error response. I’ve been trying to change the picture in the Layer Slider/Slide 1/Layer 1. I deactivated all my plugins, cleared my cache, cleared browser history, and restarted my Mac. The plugins I currently have are Akismet, All In One SEO Pack, bbPress, Google+ Author Information in Search Results (Free Version), Google Analytics, Google XML Sitemaps, Jetpack by WordPress.com (which I haven’t used yet), SEO Friendly Images, WooCommerce, and WP Super Cache. I’ll be hopefully selling t-shirts from this site soon, and only have the plugins that I need necessary to be successful. I’m hoping that I’ve done a good job so far…? And a quick question Ismael, do I have to get a WooCommerce theme for the WooCommerce plugin, or can I just use the WooCommerce plugin in Enfold (which is what I would prefer)? Thanks for your support with Enfold.

    Hi morgantar!

    Since 2.6 Enfold will add flags to the main menu. If you want to display the language shortcode instead of the flag images insert this code into your child theme functions.php file:

        if(!function_exists('avia_append_lang_flags'))
        {
            //first append search item to main menu
            add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'avia_append_lang_flags', 20, 2 );
            add_filter( 'avf_fallback_menu_items', 'avia_append_lang_flags', 20, 2 );

            function avia_append_lang_flags( $items, $args )
            {
                if ((is_object($args) && $args->theme_location == 'avia'))
                {
                    global $avia_config, $sitepress;

                    if(empty($avia_config['wpml_language_menu_position'])) $avia_config['wpml_language_menu_position'] = apply_filters('avf_wpml_language_switcher_position', 'main_menu');
                    if($avia_config['wpml_language_menu_position'] != 'main_menu') return $items;

                    $languages = icl_get_languages('skip_missing=0&orderby=custom');

                    if(is_array($languages))
                    {
                        foreach($languages as $lang)
                        {
                            $currentlang = (ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == $lang['language_code']) ? 'avia_current_lang' : '';

                            if(is_home() || is_front_page()) $lang['url'] = $sitepress->language_url($lang['language_code']);

                            $items .= "<li class='language_".$lang['language_code']." $currentlang'><a href='".$lang['url']."'>";
                            $items .= $lang['language_code'];
                            $items .= "</a></li>";
                        }
                    }
                }
                return $items;
            }
        }

    (alternatively insert the code at the very top of enfold/functions.php after the <?php tag). You can also replace $lang[‘language_code’] with

    $lang[‘translated_name’]

    or

    $lang[‘native_name’]

    if you want to display the entire language name (and not just the shortcode).

    Best regards,
    Peter

    I actually already tried that. But it still overrides any specific field width settings in Formidable.

    To “sort of” help (but still doesn’t solve the problem) I used:
    #top .input-text, #top input[type=”text”], #top input[type=”input”], #top input[type=”password”], #top input[type=”email”], #top input[type=”number”], #top input[type=”url”], #top input[type=”tel”], #top input[type=”search”], #top textarea, #top select {
    min-width: 0 !important;
    }

    It’s better, but that doesn’t solve the problem either.

    The main issue is that in Formidable, you can specify whether a field is full-width, or you can choose your own width (i.e. 5 characters wide for a number field, etc) and it seems like the “width” in base or child CSS should really be cleared/deleted for Formidable to work properly. Just my guess.

    It seems like I have to get into the base CSS and delete “width: 210px” since I can’t really null it out. But, where is the base CSS? (Sorry, I’m not a WordPress or CSS master, but still learning!) Even though I prefer not to touch ANY base code, I’d be curious to know if this would solve the problem.

    By the way, I was wondering why did you guys choose 210px for fields?

    Just curious – I bought Formidable since you guys recommended it, but has anyone else mentioned any issues between Enfold and Formidable??

    Thanks for the help!
