RikardI want to rename the Portfolio cpt to something more useful for my client. I reviewed the support thread and found the original cpt registration file is enfold/includes/admin/register-portfolio.php
Here’s my problem: When I make the appropriate changes to the you register-portfolio.php file it works. However, I can’t get the theme to override the portfolio cpt labels when using my child theme.
I obviously want the modified register-portfolio.php file to reside in my child theme so the changes won’t be overridden when Enfold is updated. But I cannot get the modified file to override the parent theme. It’s possibly because the original file is in a sub-folder.
I’ve done a lot of research online and still can’t get it fixed. Please advise?

I’ve some questions about this amazing theme (Enfold) and some about WooCommerce[enfold]
1) how can I easily edit the font size of the menu bar? I need to enlarge the font size.
2) are there some menu layout presets included in the theme ready to use? If there arent, how can I easily build some menu[woocommerce]
3) I’ve created about 20 categories for my products and in a page of my site I need to show only a subset of these categories.
In woocommerce’s documentation I’ve seen that it is possible to define the ids of the categories that I wanna show.
So, I’ve tried to put in one of my page:
[product_categories parent=”0″ orderby=”name” order=”ASC” hide_empty=”1″ ids=”cat1″]
or
[product_categories parent=”0″ orderby=”name” order=”ASC” hide_empty=”1″ ids=”cat1,cat2,cat3″]
but it doesnt work, it show all the categories. cat1,cat2,cat3 are the slug that I see in categories page. Where is the mistake?4) is it possible to edit the layout of the product page? if so, how? and from which menu I can do that? I need to remove some widgets such as “latest comments, search box, recent posts”.
5) is it possible to change the way it shows the products of a category? I’d like that from a category list, clicking on a category, I see a grid with all the photos of the products belonging to that category (instead of seeing a textual list of the items).

This is not an enfold related issue but we are more than happy to point you in the right direction. I believe what you have done is correct but not sure why it’s still showing related videos. Out of the thousands of sites that enfold is running on… a few similar issue will be reported. If you notice that others have the same issue the reason for it might not be the same in your case as every site is setup in different ways hence the earlier solution is not working for you.
As you already know if you setup the robot.txt and disallow the crawler it will simply not index. You need to correctly set this up for it to work and allow google some time to update the same.
Are you using any SEO plugins ? Is it set correctly to do this job? I hope it is not generating an automated robot.txt for you due to which the one you are setting up is getting overwritten…
However if you search on google “prevent google from indexing a url” you do get a lot of helpful step by step information.

VinayHi, this is not really a support request in the traditional sense. Just to set the scene, we are a research institute in a bigger university in Italy, so getting things done and approved is a mess.
We’ve been happily using Enfold for some landing-page micro-sites, and wanted to use it for our main web site, a fairly standard mix of events, publications and regular posts and pages. I liked the fact that the flexibility meant we could quickly prototype a page, test it, and then adjust the design without having to dive into the code.
But the institute’s ‘webmasters’ have blocked this by threatening to not provide any support (or access to the server). As a point of reference, they suggest we use YOOTheme’s Warp framework, which is quite old and clunky in my opinion.
Their objections are that Enfold allows too much custom content/shortcodes, and migrating content if the theme is no longer supported/we change our minds will be very time consuming (Which is still true for the Warp framework by YOOTheme, as far as I know). They are also worried that the code can cause conflicts with plugins, etc, and they will not be familiar enough to do anything to help. (Essentially, they’re happy to waste our time so long as they don’t get shouted at by anyone for unexpected downtime or maintenance work.)
So I thought I’d post their feedback back to you, and see if you have any thoughts on the merits of their complaints.
I know how links work in relation to HTML, CSS & Javascript; I know how to simply add an anchor to my (page/#galleryAnchor). I know how to add an ID# to a color section in the ALB. But I found nothing in the docs about connecting my menu with my 1 page parallax.

BUT IT DOESN’T WORK so I went and searched the forums on how to link the menu in general. There are links with different form in this theme, but with no docs or explanation or examples:

But with anything that is exact, trial and error is foolish. So I searched the forums will all the words below. To learn about linking in general:

ALL THIS WORK SO FAR FOR A TASK THAT WOULD TAKE 5 MIN OUTSIDE OF THIS THEME. Or if there was anything at all with a simple example. ANYTHING. This is not an isolated example. The docs have major holes in them. I had to read the docs on another theme to learn about the general stuff and was cleared up on a lot of things in 15 min that I spent a week struggling with on Enfold.
1) Can someone just show me what an anchor looks like in the short code? or the most “hands on” way to just get it done? Please just code examples, no wordy instruction navigating the ALB that leave out a major step anyhow. I need to link up everything in my 1 page parallax and my client is running out of patience. The first two times I wrote into the forum on another topic, I was answered with “I”M NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE ASKING” which is what happens when you skim a question cus you don’t give a !*$@ and you know your about to close for a week for the holiday. And that closure cost me a project I committed to do with this theme but there was no support for the entire window of time. But I paid for the support, didn’t get it and suffered losses.
I’m sharing this because it is what I experienced and I imagine there are many others who are even now experiencing the same.
The Kriesi Team really needs to learn from watching test subjects new to wordPress try to find answers in the docs and get through basic set up so they know where the major holes are. For starters, you should put the videos in an order respective of the process. This whole setback and support closing cost me more time and loss of income that I can bear to talk about.
Venting and hoping for a simple answer… and hoping to encourage a revamp of the doc and forum. The theme has so much potential.

is this a WordPress+Enfold page? if not we can’t help you. If yes then please provide us admin access, so we can take a deeper look into it. Show us exactly where you want the search icon to appear. Send us a mockup (imgur.com, dropbox).

YigitHi, I am using Enfold on this lovely site http://www.meaby.co.uk and its developed a few problem. Firstly, updates on the site aren’t showing up on the front end, even though they are there. The site has no caching plug in and I cant work out what is causing this.
Secondly, I have had PPC ads rejected by adwords because the site is violating their policies, reason ‘site is not working’. Clearly the site IS working and I’ve had google search console fetch and render it and its shown what the search engine sees and its the same as what i see.
Is there anything in the theme that would make google not see the site from an adwords point of view or which would mean it doesn’t update on the front end? Log ins in private areaHello,

I am working on my new website based on Enfold. I plan to use Promo Box with a CTA. I want the button to open a popup with a form registration. I use Ninja-Popups on my former website. I can still use it or any popup feature from Enfild if there is one.
I searched the forum database but didn’t find answer for this question.

Just a heads up Google Tag manager with Google analytics and Enfold works really great!
You can add click listeners to execute your events and send it over Google Analytics.
I have been able to track almost 90% of everything pretty easy.Have been asking before how I’m able to add unique identifiers to elements like sliders, Image galleries and submit buttons.
Hope really someone at your awesome support team adds a ticket for this to your backlog so we really can enjoy Enfold with Google Tag Manger to 100% would be so fucking over the top!My best tip for you is to use Google Tag Manager and use the inbuild click listener to generate and event to Google Analytics.

I use the code below to change the behaviour from flags to language ISO code, it works fine in the primary menu. But now I would like to change it to the secondary menu at the right top. If I enable the secondary menu in the Enfold theme options, the flags appear in the secondary menu but the code below seems to be ignored. Changing “main_menu” to “secondary_menu” does not seem to solve the issue. Please help, thanks :o)

I have no idea how to solve this. I removed modifications one by one from all the files within the enfold child theme folder. Nothing made a difference until I deleted the child css file completely (all other child files were still active)
– If I delete the child style.css file completely, visit http://rotarycentreforthearts.com/events/, type “drum circle” in the Events Calendar search box, the NEXT button works perfectly.
– If I leave the child css file in the enfold child folder, but remove all css except the header comment, enter the search query into the site, the NEXT button does not work.
If this gives any clue as to where the issue could lie, please let me know. I’ve included temp login details.

We have a major issue with the Avanced Layout Editor not loading. We were using Enfold 3.0.4 on WordPress 4.0.1 (these have since been updated).
Whenever we try to edit a page we get this:
The loading icon will just spin indefinitely.
Then, whenever we try to go to another part of the site right after attempting to edit a page we get a “connection reset” error.
We have already done a lot of research into this issue. Our host, Go Daddy, says that something on the site is using too much memory (Upwards of 400MB) when we try to edit a page and thus our connection is being reset. We attempted to up the upload limit in order to fix this and though we changed it to allow a 1000 MB upload successfully the issue was not resolved.
We have turned off all plugins, they are not the issue. We have updated Enfold and WordPress, both are up to date as of today (January 4th, 2016). When we turned off Enfold by switching to a default WordPress theme, everything worked fine again.
All of this research now leads us to believe that the issue lies with Enfold. Can you help us fix it?

P.S.: Deleting “started by” using custom CSS would remove author name and link as well. If you would like to remove the text only, please go to wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default/bbpress/loop-single-topic.php and remove the string.

How can I replace the search icon (the entypo-fontello magnifier) by a custom icon? I installed a new font via the “Iconfont manager” and I’m already using these custom icons for the iconlists —that works fine—, but I can’t figure out, where to change/set the search icon (for the menu bar, the search field and the search result page).

What happens if you disable the search icon? Go to Enfold > Header > Extra Elements. Test the page again without the search icon. If it doesn’t work, enable the search icon then add this in the Quick CSS field:
#menu-item-search { min-width: 25px; }Hard refresh before testing the page.

I’m using Enfold vs. 3.3.2. I want to have a custom sidebar for one page on the site, where I would like to place 3 slideshows one over the top of the other. I have created a custom widget area and have named it and selected this for the “About Us” page, but I don’t see anywhere to actually add the slideshow.
I am a complete newbie with all of this. I appreciate any help and apologize if this has been addressed somewhere. When I searched for topics, it’s likely I didn’t even put in the correct search terms.

I am using Enfold and Tubepress Pro and am experiencing css issues with the thumbnail display of gallery images on responsive sites.
When hovering the cursor over any gallery the thumnails “jump”.

The effect is especially severe on responsive smaller browser windows, iPad devices etc.I researched previous issues with Tubepress and came acrtoss this thread on your site: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-tubepress/ However the recommended fix did not work for me.
Please advise how this issue can be fixed for various responsive display sizes.

1- You have added your “Projeckte” menu item as a custom link but custom link was wrong, so i changed URL to your projecte page in Appearance > Menus and it worked.

Now, before long time working on it we’re having problems because the plugin doesn’t work with your template. The main and only problem is that the search button is not working with ‘Chrome’ and ‘Safari’. Our client is so angry..Can anybody give us a solution?
