    EDIT – UPDATE 5/23: I finally figured this out – it was unclosed HTML tags. I noticed that the only changes that weren’t saving fell beneath a specific element. Once I replaced that element, things started saving again.

    EDIT – UPDATE 5/23: I am having the same problem again. It will NOT save my changes. I do not know why.

    EDIT – UPDATE 5/22: I worked with WPEngine support and they downgraded the WP core to a previous version. That seemed to fix it. But, Enfold team, that might be something you want to look into…

    I was editing my homepage on the site and clicked Update. It seemed to save fine but when I viewed the page, half of the content was gone. I went back and just copied a random element. It appeared when I saved. So, I re-did my edits, adding back all the content. Again, the new content was wiped away when I hit Update.

    I updated WordPress, the theme and all the plugins yesterday. Everything seemed to be working fine.

    When this started happening, I cleared my WP cache and it still happened. Also, I used another browser to see if my browser was the problem. Didn’t help.

    How is this happening?

    (03:14:21) Farrah Haidar: Hi, Kara – I spoke to someone yesterday about my changes not saving.
    (03:14:33) Farrah Haidar: They helped me resolve the issue temporarily but it’s back.
    (03:14:57) Farrah Haidar: Basically, I edited a page. Hit Update and all of my changes are immediately wiped
    (03:15:55) Kara F: Let me take a look at your chat from yesterday
    (03:17:26) Kara F: can I get your site name?
    (03:17:38) Farrah Haidar: sure- http://sevensisstage.wpengine.com
    (03:25:07) Kara F: hmm so it will let you update but the changes will not change?
    (03:25:30) Farrah Haidar: yes, they will be completely wiped, not appearing on the backend either
    (03:26:17) Kara F: I am not seeing any changes and yesterday the wordpress was downgraded. So that cant be it anymore, can we try disabling plugins?
    (03:28:05) Farrah Haidar: Sure -it’s a staging site.
    (03:31:49) Kara F: Can you try to edit?
    (03:32:02) Farrah Haidar: ok, just a sec
    (03:38:00) Farrah Haidar: Ok, so it worked for about three saves and then it stopped working, wiped everything again.
    (03:40:53) Kara F: Oh man, hmm. By any chance are you using classic editor?
    (03:43:54) Farrah Haidar: No, the theme uses the Avia layout and I was using the Classic plugin to revert everything back to pre-Gutenberg
    (03:44:09) Farrah Haidar: But, wait, when you turned off the plug-ins, my layout changed.
    (03:44:15) Farrah Haidar: I mean the editor layout
    (03:44:32) Farrah Haidar: Maybe I don’t need the Classic plug-in anymore
    (03:46:22) Kara F: we can try just disabling that one?
    (03:46:27) Farrah Haidar: yes
    (03:46:43) Kara F: one moment
    (03:49:33) Kara F: okay, done.
    (03:51:02) Farrah Haidar: just a minute
    (03:54:47) Farrah Haidar: Ok, so I edited it and added a text element. It worked. Then I added a button and it got wiped again.

    (03:58:56) Farrah Haidar: Could it be the way it is saving drafts? That would explain the “it works for a few times” and then stops. It’s restoring an older draft of the page.
    (03:59:13) Gary Singer: Hi Farrah, let me review my notes to see where we are at
    (03:59:28) Farrah Haidar: ok
    (04:02:13) Gary Singer: Logging into the backend now to replicate the issue on my end
    (04:02:17) Farrah Haidar: ok
    (04:04:45) Gary Singer: Alrighty, so the issue is that you are making changes on the backend of the site, and every so often the changes don’t get applied and get reset, correct?
    (04:04:54) Gary Singer: And from what I’m seeing you are using a page builder from the theme?
    (04:05:05) Farrah Haidar: Yes to both questions
    (04:05:41) Gary Singer: Okay, so what I”m going to do in this case is isolate the site to just the theme, basically stop all plugins from loading. Have you test from there to see if the issue is coming directly from the theme and the editor, or if it’s an issue with some other plugin that is interfering
    (04:06:06) Farrah Haidar: Ok, we did turn off all plugins and it still happened
    (04:06:33) Gary Singer: So it seems to be tied directly to the theme itself, I’m not seeing any caching headers in the .htaccess and no errors in the logs
    (04:06:34) Gary Singer: Let
    (04:06:42) Gary Singer: Let’s have you try a few more times and see if the issue occurs again
    (04:06:46) Farrah Haidar: ok
    (04:07:00) Farrah Haidar: should we try turning off the auto-save in wp
    (04:09:16) Gary Singer: revisions should be off by default, we can just set a very long auto-save interval in the wp-config.php file
    (04:09:18) Gary Singer: let me set that for you
    (04:10:26) Gary Singer: Okay, refresh the page and try again , the auto-save interval is set to 24 hours
    (04:10:43) Farrah Haidar: Ok, just did a first edit – it worked.
    (04:10:46) Farrah Haidar: Now, let’s try this again
    (04:11:15) Farrah Haidar: And it’s wipred
    (04:11:17) Farrah Haidar: Gone
    (04:12:02) Gary Singer: Yup, so it seems to be an issue directly with the theme itself, there isn’t anything else on the server side that would wipe those changes. Let me verify the core files to rule out that as an issue and see if there are any processes that are being killed on the server side to double check
    (04:12:16) Farrah Haidar: ok
    (04:16:25) Gary Singer: Core files look good, nothing is being killed by the server either, and no errors in the logs. The next step may be to manually re-install the theme , if that doesn’t work, you may need to reach out to the theme developer to see if this is a known issue and how to resolve it
    (04:16:48) Farrah Haidar: I am going to install an older version of the theme that was working until the developer can figure this out.
    (04:16:51) Farrah Haidar: Thank you for all the help.
    (04:17:01) Farrah Haidar: can you re-set my autosave time?
    (04:17:07) Farrah Haidar: And run a back-up real quick?
    (04:17:12) Gary Singer: Yup, can do
    (04:17:47) Gary Singer: auto-save is reset and the backup is done
    (04:17:52) Farrah Haidar: Thank you again.

    Hey minogig,

    This is not related with the Enfold theme since I tried to switch themes and it still doesn’t show up.
    I think the solution on this wordpress thread might work: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/missing-my-add-new-plugin-button/#post-11252176
    Let us know if it helps.

    Best regards,

    Hi s_taimoor,

    Please refer to the solution posted here for the custom social icon.

    Please try this css for the slider controls:

    .avia-fullscreen-slider .avia-slideshow-controls a, .av-control-minimal .avia-slideshow-controls a {
        border: none;
    }

    Please check the portfolio entry for any unclosed html tags, this normally causes the behavior that you are facing.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi all,

    Enfold is not fully compatible with AMP yet. You might want to disable the plugin for now.

    Please perform the below steps to clear the browser cache:

    1. Disable “merging and compression” for CSS and JS files from Enfold > Performance.
    2. If a caching plugin is installed check the plugin settings and clear the cache and deactivate the plugins for testing purpose.
    3. Hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F5 on your browser or press the F12 key to open chrome dev tools and right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    The preview image + play button shows correctly. Once clicking on the play button, only the video-shortcode is pasted instead of the html-code.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that. Please try the following in Quick CSS under Enfold->General Styling:

    .home #footer li:first-child {
        border-top-width: 0 !important;
    }

    .home #footer #custom_html-4 button strong {
        color:#fff !important;
    }

    Hey Alwin,
    Thank you for asking, first I recommend saving a copy of your “Export Theme Settings File” at Enfold Theme Options > Import/Export > Export Theme Settings File to your computer as a backup:
    2019-05-18-100807
    Then disable the Enfold Theme Options > Performance > JS & CSS file merging and compression and any cache plugins.
    Then upload the Enfold Child Theme and activate it.
    Now you will see a new option at Enfold Theme Options > Import/Export which is: Import Settings from your Parent Theme:
    2019-05-18-101553
    Cliking this will import your theme settings, which should compete the operation, and you will also need to clear your browser cache, but depending on your server cache you may wish to go to Enfold Theme Options > General Styling > Quick CSS field and add a blank space to allow the “Save all Changes” button to be clicked:
    2019-05-18-102606
    This last step is useally is not needed, but you will need to clear your browser and server cache, sometimes twice.
    Please let us know if this helps.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hello,
    I’m talking about the LayerSlider: I would like to. . .
    1.
    Perform a ScrollToID to my layer slider:
    I thought it was enough to enter a name in the ID input field and link to it. Isn’t that so? Previously I had been able to set it up with CodeBlock placed in front of the layer slider.
    The link should be on: Startscreen / Left Cross (Manufaktur) / click Left Symbol (SCHUHSCHRANK)…should go to the layer slider
    2.
    Is there some kind of CSS library for animated buttons? Or, how could I have this
    kind of button (center-right) or a similar one?
    example: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-startup/
    3.
    How can I set a link from the green shop button to the shop (which doesn´t still exist)?
    Found it out.
    4.
    Line break: For the text I created more single lines as text layer. Isn’t that good? I think with a line break that would be better. But that’s probably prolematic, as I’ve read from other threads?! Or is there a slim solution?

    …new questions…
    5.
    Isn´t it possible to have 2 or 3 or more Layer Sliders? One positioned under the other?
    6.
    In layer slider I implemented a new slider. But I can´t publish it.

    I would be happy to receive support on these topics in the Layer Slider!
    Cheers, JS

    Hi

    Let me explain it in more detail:
    a) Go to https://build.envato.com/ and sign in on the top.
    b) Scroll down until you see the title “Your personal tokens”.
    c) Click the button “Create a new token” and grant sufficient access according to step 2 here https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#how-to-generate-a-envato-personal-token
    d) Insert this key into Enfold – done.

    Does that help?

    Then, I go to enfold css editor and add the class names and desired attributes:

    .btncomienza {

    color: #808080 !important;
    padding: 250px!important;
    border-radius: 25px;

    In reply to: Lay out issue

    Hi,
    Sorry for the late reply, I have looked at your example url above, the reason you are getting an error on the page is that, once you create a page with the Advanced Layout Builder, it is not safe to re-edit with the default editors. The reason you may see demo content when switching between the editors is that the two types of content are stored differently, but this shall not cause any future issues.
    If you want to edit the shortcodes, or copy them to a new page please try this post: Enable Avia Layout Builder Debugger
    But it is an advanced technique, and not really recommended, perhaps if you can explain what you are trying to achieve we could help.

    Your issue with the buttons on your localhost sounds like you updated manually by trying to overwrite the theme folder, Please note that if you update manually or via FTP, you will need to remove the old theme folder “enfold” first (via FTP) then upload the new “enfold” folder at /wp-content/themes/enfold/
    Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.
    But I won’t know for sure that this is the issue until I can examine it, please try following the steps above to see if it helps.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Oliver,

    I see, thanks for providing the link to the page, I thought it was an added button which can be changed here: https://imgur.com/EegWS2m
    But on your case, please add thsi css code in Quick CSS, located in Enfold > General Styling:

    #top .avia-layerslider .ls-nav-prev:before, #top .avia-layerslider .ls-nav-next:before {
        border-radius: 0 !important;
    }

    Dear Enfold,

    Today we stumbled upon a thing that surprised us. We’re using the Promo Box for a Call to Action and want to display an icon in the button.
    Standard in other button-elements you can choose where to align the icon: left or right. In this Promo Box that option isn’t given, which we think is strange and should be standard.
    Hereby screenshots of the problem:
    Preview of what it is now
    Settings in Promo Box where you can’t align the icon (under “Knop icoon”)
    Normal button you get this

    We’re hoping for a long-term solution and NOT a CSS workaround.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello There,
    I successfully added in the past a whatsapp share button as suggested in this forum with the following function in functin.php

    add_filter('avia_social_share_link_arguments', 'avia_add_social_share_link_arguments', 10, 1);
    function avia_add_social_share_link_arguments($args) {
    $args['whatsapp'] = array("encode"=>true, "encode_urls"=>false, "pattern" => "whatsapp://send?[title]&url=[permalink]", 'label' => __("Condividi su Whatsapp",'avia_framework'));
    return $args;}

    After the last WP update to 5.2. suddenly the whatsapp links stopped working. The outout is empty.

    Is this caused by wordpress or Enfold needs an update too? Do you have any idea how to solve this?
    Thanks

    Dear support

    we are using the enfold option for a own footer page. We included within this footer page several buttons, also one which targets our contact form. We are catching in this form also the referrer of the before visited page.

    If someone klicks in the main menu or something else on a link to the contact form this referrer url is catched correct. If someone uses the button within the footer we only receive everytime our home slug https://www.l-mobile.com –> is there a way to receive the url of the page where the footer button is clicked?

    Thanks in advance Marc
