    Great thanks for this! I have been testing Eunoia + 3.6 on a staging site and note some issues with portfolio thumbnail images not showing up – some do/some don’t. If you’d like me to send you the staging URL let me know.

    Hi jingz,

    The columns will resize your images no matter what you choose if the image isn’t large enough to fill in the column. Otherwise the columns won’t fit correctly in a full width container.

    If you put the portfolio in a container it will shrink the column widths and then the images inside.

    The new code fixed the issue of the aspect ratio when resizing the browser, but I have the old problem I was having – the thumbnail images are not creating a perfect grid, and there is a big gap between one of the rows see link here – http://latishawoodonline.com/body-paintings/

    In regard to – 1.) All the gallery images are showing, it takes time. I suggest you upgrade your domain service plan to speed up the page load. You can also use cdn,

    I am on a $350 per month dedicated virtual server with mediatemple.net with 8Gb ram so I am not using “cheap” hosting and there are not that many sites on the server. The images always load fine on other pages as seen here – http://latishawoodonline.com/motorcycles/ and never have a problem when there are not to many images. As soon as the gallery has a lot of images the thumbnails show at 50% opacity until the user scrolls the browser. I thin it needs some code to force loading of the gallery everytime since it seems to only actibvate the load on galleries with many images when the user scrolls.

    You can reposition the thumbnails with following css code (insert it into the quick css field and change the values). However I can’t promise that it will display fine on all screens…

    Hi,

    Change the thumbnail size settings to 36×36 then regenerate thumbnails. Actually, it has nothing to do with that because the code for the thumbnail on latest news widget is located on functions.php:

    $avia_config['imgSize']['widget'] = array('width'=>36, 'height'=>36); // small preview pics eg sidebar news

    The latest news widgets look fine on my end:

    My website is on a dev machine, so I don’t have a public link to give you at the moment.

    I already installed that plugin and nothing looks different when I regenerate.

    When I do the featured image, it doesn’t look like it does on the Enfold theme because it never crops.

    I used the same exact family photo as Enfold, and here was the result:

    Hello,

    I am using portfolio 3 columns and portfolio thumbnail size of 300px X 200px (uploaded as featured image by creating single portfolio).

    But the portfolio page resize the tumbnail to 341px (width). At the option “Select custom image size”, I set “No scaling”. The original size of the featured images are 300px x 200px.

    I won’t, that the portfolio grid resizes the featured image.

    What can I do?

    If the thumbnails are smaller than the total column width – the extra space is filled with other images and/or captions

    Hi,

    Can you give us a link to your website?

    The thumbnail for the News widget should be automatically created. Try to regenerate the thumbnails using this:

    The image is added using the Add Featured Media.

    On the Enfold theme preview (http://kriesi.at/themedemo/?theme=enfold), this image is shown as the featured image in grid format for a blog post.

    Under Latest News in the footer, this cropped image is shown as a thumbnail.

    On my blog, the featured image isn’t cropped into a thumbnail for the News widget, it’s squished into a distorted square. How do I fix that so it looks like the Enfold theme?

    Hi tasoskouk

    Your images should all be larger than 450×450 pixels for them to be cropped at the same height. For example, this image: http://tasoskoukouvitis.com/enfold/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/KitchenAid-Espresso-Machine-1.jpg is 391x530px. So when it gets cropped down to 450×450 it only crops the one edge because the other is already smaller than that size.

    Then in the column view the images get scaled down to fit the column number but the width is smaller than the others so it actually uses more height to get the image to fill that whole width.

    What I usually recommend is that you put all of your product images on a white background in an image editor and position them in the center. Then save all of your images at the same large size so that you are always working with the same size canvas and wordpress can manipulate the thumbnails as needed but it will all always be the same.

    If not that way then just for the images that are non-standard like the mixer.

    1. When adding a single column gallery with say a 300×300 px image…or a 2 column with two 300px images, how can you get the images to align to the center of the column you have placed it in ?

    first 3 pictures are diff sizes but not aligned. second 2 pics are using a spacer image..

    Images seem to left justify along with their captions. I would like to have multiple galleries in a page – some with 2 images, some with 3, mostly the same size but aligned to center of the page.. I tried adding a spacer image for 3 columns using 2 main images but the space is padded far too much…

    2. captions underneath the thumbnails.. if adding 2 images to a 3 column layour – the captions move directly to the right side of the image.. depending on the size of the thumbs, the captions sometimes appear underneat, sometimes break half underneat and half on the side.

    3. Is is possible to align the captions to center underneath the thumbnail, not just left justified.

    I am haing some issues with this theme

    1. The images for galleries are still not showing even though I have added code into custom css you have told me to add from previous support ticket.

    It works on galleries that have not that many images like – http://latishawoodonline.com/drawings/ but the images are shown at like 40% opacity on the galleries that have a lot of images and only show full opacity once user has scrolled.

    2. The gallery is not responsive… When I resize the browser the thumbnail images all keep their same height and adjust only their width causing a distorted thumbnail image that looks really bad. The entire thumbnail should resize.

    I own may Kriesi themes and this one seems to have more issue than the other ones.. Hopefully you can resolve this gallery issue soon and add an updated theme to themeforest so I can use for future projects…

    Here is the custom css I have added that you have given me from other support tickets.

    Hi Wild-Speed,

    Unfortunately not at the moment as far as I know. The effect is built into the LayerSlider plugin and would need to be modified on their end for best results (the plugin is a third party one Kriesi has a license to include it built in).

    Hi,

    The functionality you are describing is currently (for the moment) not one included in the theme and would be a time intensive modifications that IMO would be outside the scope of the support team.

    Show none of them as active – you wrote , and by that do you mean show no portfolio thumbs? You can use css to block the images on initial load by positioning the thumbnails off screen or hidden if I understood you second question correctly.

    Hi David,

    1) The theme has a couple of different options for galleries but there isn’t one available similar to the example. See: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/shortcodes/gallery/

    2) When you’ve added a gallery you just need to click on its element in the advanced layout builder. The Gallery pop up appears and you can then click on the images to add more to it or edit them as well as change the gallery style and image size.

    3) Load times for images are independent of the theme. You can use something like w3tc or WP SuperCache to increase the loading times of your site overall but ultimately when it comes to images loading it has more to do with the individual user internet speed and the host where the images are located.

    If you mean this page: http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/features/ its a tabs element with the tabs positioned on the left. If you mean the one on the home page of the demo its 2 half width columns and one has an image slider with thumbnails in it.

    Thanks for another great theme. I am having some trouble with the galleries.

    1) When I check “Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions” in media settings the thumbnails are the ratio of the original image but they line up very awkwardly. http://www.nancyashmead.com/paintings/

    I created this galley in another theme with the basic wordpress gallery and it looks good with images various ratios. http://www.judithpavlik.com/teens/ .

    With Enfold the basic wordpress gallery has only one thumb size so I can’t use that either

    2)

    When I try to edit an existing gallery it shows that there are no images so rather than being able to add to a gallery I have to rebuild the whole gallery. This is a pain for my artist clients who are constantly adding new work to existing galleries.

    3)

    The load time is very slow. The images are semi-transparent for half a minute and then load to their full color versions.

    1) You can try to center the logo with

    and instead of -100px insert a custom negative value. You need to calculate it by dividing the image width by 2.

    3) We use the standard wordpress oembed api: http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds and afaik it does not support any additional parameters for the url. You can try to insert the iframe directly though.

    4) Yes by default Enfold will always “stretch” the columns to fill out the entire width. The thumbnail size will only change the image inside the column and the thumbnail may look distorted if it’s too small. You can try following code css code:

    it will overwrite the default width:100% code and the thumbnail shouldn’t re-size if the column width is bigger than the thumbnail width.
