All right, I did deactivate the two plugins I was using with no success. However, I figured to find what was the problem and wanted to share because I think it needs to be addressed/fixed in a future update.

Among my menu links I had one pointing to an external website (our online ticket counter website) in a blank window. I believe the hashtag included in the url was causing the troubles with my portfolio items (thumbnails not showing, sorting not animated, and ajax navigation not functional).

in my main menu and footer menu and the hashtag in the url is causing troubles in our portfolio section.

I created another url (with no hashtag) to reach my ticket system and changed the link accordingly in my menu and *boom*, everything is back functional and works properly now.

Thank you very much, it fixes it for now, the thumbnail images are showing now but unfortunately with no FadeIn effect now.
Also, the sorting of the portfolio items is still not animated either anymore, and when I click to get the ajax preview of one of them (not the video ones), I can’t get to close the preview nor navigate to previous or next items.
I’ll try to remove my facebook like box and see if it works better.

Thanks Devin. Unfortunately this means that we’ll have to re-upload all of the portfolio images since it looks like you have to set the position when you upload each image. I was hoping I could change the position using the functions.php file and then re-create the thumbs using a thumbnail rebuilder.

Update: After changing the crop position I was able to use another plugin to recreate the thumbnails. I did not have to reupload anything.

Thanks, Ismael. That helped, however, I used to be able to customize the sizes. The square thumbnails don’t work for our book shots which need to be 95×123. We used to be able to do that in ADVANCED SETTINGS, but that no longer works.

Hi Josue, no, thats not my case.

I have a bulk of PDFs which are for download one by one. I tried using some ways collecting them and I like use as much design as possible. So I created from each PDF a small JPEG from frontpage which shall preview the PDF and linked to it.

I tried portfolio which is good, put a featured image into each and linked that to the PDF. But if I use the portfolio element in a collecting page for showing the correspondent items, I may use behaviors in case were the item is opend: in a lightbox for example or in a new window (which doesn’t work – it opens in same window – the user leaves my site). Is it a bug?

The other way I tried was using on page the avia element image, which can be linked too. That works fine, opens in a new window. But in this case my trouble is in selecting uploaded images in the media browser. My previews do have all the same title because it is a series. In this case Enfold uses the kind of media browser which is used if I select a featured image – it has a limited content/metadata view. I see only title and alternate text if I click in media browser on a thumbnail. But selecting here the right preview is not possible. Thats what I mention.

I have been able to add a dynamic link to the full portfolio item by editing lines 606-608 like this:

But I have only been able to get the change to render if I edit the parent theme (Enfold). I can’t get it to render by uploading the config-templatebuilder and avia-shortcodes and portfolio.php into my child theme (hoping they would override the parent).

Can you tell me how I can make these changes to my child theme to leave the core intact?
