Hi,
I FOUND A SOLUTION. YOU CAN DELETE THE REQUEST! THANKS.
I tried to change the magazine thumbnail with your suggestions from this post:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/magazine-thumbnails-2/
The images weren’t blurry anymore, but than the line with the text
add_filter(‘avf_magazine_settings’, ‘avia_magazine_thumbnail’, 10, 2); function avia_magazine_thumbnail($atts, $magazine){ $atts[‘image_size’][‘small’] = ‘square’; return $atts; }
was always on the top of my website. I deleted the changes in the child theme functions, but the text is still on my website. Can you please have a look at it? I post the link from the Website in the private content. Thanks.
Hi Rikard, first I have setup it with a feature image in product but image was shown with max. dimension of around 180 px as small as placeholder image. This seems to be a bug.
Same for using shortcode [products] from woocommerce. Instead of showing product page as described in first topic I tried showing product thumbnail with [products id=”xx” columns=”1″]. This should show the product with details and linked to product details page. But parameter columns didn’t work, it was shown in three column layout anytime. Enfold seems to overwrite columns parameter.
Hi there!
We just updated our site and now the Magazine feed thumbnails are blurry. I think this is because we have a custom magazine.php which is being used (from a previous ticket: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/colored-section-with-background-image-not-formatting/).
Would you be able to help me figure out why the thumbnails on https://winterwildlands.org/stash/ under Snowschool and From the Skintrack are blurry? It looks like the “natural” photo size is set to 80×80.
Thank you so much!
Hi Rikard, thanks again for your efforts to help me solve this. That’s an interesting approach but unfortunately its not really working. The products remain left-aligned as a whole, and no matter what percentage of margins I enter, the product/columns either remain unbalanced (extending more to the left side of the screen, never centered in the middle) or wrap to the next line (so I end up with 2 products per column) without ever achieving a center-balanced layout, but also this approach even if it can be made to work, changes the balance and aesthetic of the page, in a way I am not happy with. Truth is, I have already tried all these suggestions we have talked about so far before even writing here.
What I really am trying to achieve is actually quite simple in principle. I want to display the product category as is. Not larger thumbnails, not different margins with more spacing here and there, just what already exists > but centered like the rest of the website. It cannot be that this is the only part of the website that strangely hangs to the left and I also don’t want to change the whole aesthetic (margins, thumbnails sizes) to something inconsistent with the rest of the site just to center this products category section.
If its not possible, I understand, in that case I will look to move to another theme that supports Woocommece without extensive custom work. If it is possible, well it would be great to figure out how.
Ismael thanks for this we are also have the same issue with instagram see http://www.britishartportfolio.co.uk in the footer the thumbnail images are not showing.

Hello,
I have found out it by myself and altered the code:
#top .av-magazine-thumbnail, #top .av-magazine-thumbnail a, #top .av-magazine-thumbnail a img {
float: left;
margin-right: 20px;
}
Best Regards
Thanks Rikard, this is a lot better, as the products do appear centered which is a certainly step in the right direction. But this also has the side effect of making the thumbnails a lot bigger than before, which is not something I would choose for. If anything I wish they where smaller than the default size – my products are services, the image thumbnail has no reason to be larger than absolutely necessary. If there is a way to get them centered without enlarging the thumbnails, that would be the perfect solution for me here.
Hello Mike,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Unsure what “mfp-title” is. All images have a caption.
Currently the title is showing on the grid view. Can the title show when a thumbnail is selected from the grid and enlarged?
Would like to have the title centred and be displayed just for a specific portfolio items please. Happy to add a CSS code for that.

If the title cannot be displayed when enlarged than I will look at displaying the caption.
Many Thanks,

Hi,
I see that your thumbnail still uses a resized image, I think that if you play around with disabling the different sizes that you can find the correct one, or combination of ones to force your full size gif to show and play.
But I have also found that we can force the correct one to be used via css, I added this to your WordPress > Customize > Additional CSS, and now your gif plays:
#top.page-id-28 #av-masonry-1-item-693 .av-masonry-image-container {
background-image: url(https://www.dev.your-site.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/museum-of-the-twentieth-century-zerza_anim_no.gif) !important;
}
Best regards,
Mike
Hi,
Please install an Image optimization plugin like Optimus or ShortPixel. This will ensure all your images will be optimized.
The thumbnails should be regenerated after installing the optimization plugin again.
Best regards,
Vinay
Order sequence: Date, descendig order.
For a comparison i attached the raster portfolio below the masonry portfolio which shows the correct sequence.
Sequence changes when i select another thumbnail size…

Hello at Kriesi,
since the last update from Enfold 4.2.2. to 4.4 and WP Update to 4.9.6 the layout of the magazine element has changed. I have customized it in a way that the excerpt is showing beside the thumbnail (see screeenshot in private content). After the update it is below the thumbnail. Can you help?
Best Regards
Hi,
The issue is not that the blog is not setting the appropriate thumbnail, the actual issue is that the thumbnails of the newest posts are resized differently. Did you adjust the size of the “portfolio” thumbnail recently? We used the recent images for “Ironside Tech Tip: OpenID Connect Integration with Cognos Analytics Part 2” post. The size of the thumbnail is 495x230px instead of 495x300px.
Please reset the featured image of the “6 Key Principles of a Modern FP&A Function” because I forget the name of the actual featured image. Sorry about that.
Best regards,
Ismael
Thanks a lot Ismael, got it.
I suppose I can open the video in a Lightbox using this paramter: ?iframe=true right? Couldn’t test that yet, sorry.
Then I understood in a quick test that it’s only working when the video has been embedded via Enfold element, like e.g. the video element. It won’t be working when I use an iFrame code snippet from YouTube, e.g. in a text element. Can you confirm this? If so, will that be changed in a later version?
And at the end, will it be possible to fetch the video preview thumbnail from YouTube instead of having a black box with a play button? Maybe you guys would like to investigate the YouTube Lyte plugin…?
Thank you very much and cheers.
Sorry, I have just re-uploaded the following file https://www.sketchengine.eu/wp-content/uploads/search_form_ruskell.png (1162×202; 27 kB) but when I look at its thumbnail https://www.sketchengine.eu/wp-content/uploads/search_form_ruskell-768×134.png it has 60 kB. I am using the code above in the following format:
function av_return_100(){ return 75;
add_filter('jpeg_quality', 'av_return_100');
add_filter('wp_editor_set_quality', 'av_return_100');
};
I cannot see that it will work properly.
Hi,
Thank you for the login, I found that the featured image that shows on your “work” page is a resized image that has no animation, while the image in the post is the full size image. Please compare the links in the Private Content area.
I see you have the plugin Simple Image Sizes installed, please try changing the size for the “featured_large size” to 0 (zero) this should keep it from being created and force the original image to be used. Then use the “Thumbnail regeneration” option to rebuild your thumbnails.
If this doesn’t help try doing the same for the “portfolio size” images, as that might be the image used since it is a portfolio item.
Best regards,
Mike
Firstly thanks for the help Ismael. Sorry about posting multiple questions in a single thread. I wasn’t sure if that was allowed or not here. I will separate questions in the future.
1. This worked how I wanted paired with the background-color attribute.
However I now have a new problem. I didn’t fully notice before, but now when hovering over the magnifying glass in the search box it changes the color of the magnifying glass to black, which makes it blend with the background. How can I make the search bar magnifying glass change to green on hover?
1a.

1b.

2. Yes this is what I was needing, however it’s my fault for not being specific enough. With the previous code that worked on the products page, it centered both the product title and the cost. I needed cost centered too. It was only one set of code that did both for the products page, so I apologize for not being clear I wanted both centered, and this is applying to both Related Products (on individual product page) & Popular Products (on the homepage).
2a.

2-1. Popular Products has the correctly formatted header. Related Products is bold, smaller font and has a left justify. How can I adjust the Related Products heading to match Popular Products? In addition the font of the titles for Popular Products doesn’t match Related Products. I’m not sure where that font is set.
2-1a.

3. Yes exactly what I needed. Hides sorting options on “Shop” page which shows the product categories.
4. Sorry for the miscommunication on this adjustment. I know how to turn on the thumbnail for the product categories, which I do want. I did go to the categories and set the thumbnail, which I want to ONLY display on the product category (Shop) page. I do not want the category thumbnail to display as the banner on the products page once you select a category. Instead I was looking for code to replace that banner image with another image of my choice and have it centered since there doesn’t appear to be anyway to change that image through the theme UI itself.

Again thanks for all the help so far Ismael.

Everytime I log in tochange something all thumbnails revert back to 1:1
So every product picture is then square. I change it again to DO NOT CROP . It works untill I log in again ;-(
Hey there,
I have setup my blog frontpage with the blog post elements. Unfortunately not every image is having the same proportion, no matter what thumbnail size I choose. Some images are landscape while others are portrait. I want every image to have the exact same size in the preview. Cropping and upscaling should be allowed. Any ideas what I should do?
Thanks!
Hey kylebritton,
Thank you for using Enfold.
We don’t usually entertain multiple questions inside a single entry. Please create separate thread for each questions.
1.) Use this css code to change the search icon color.
.header_color input[type='submit'] {
color: green;
}
2.) This css code should center align the product title.
.products .product h2, .products .product h3, .products .product h4, .products .product h5, .products .product h6, h2.woocommerce-loop-product__title {
text-align: center;
}
3.) Remove the sorting option with this one.
.archive .product-sorting {
display: none !important;
}
4.) Edit the category and look for the “Thumbnail” option.
Best regards,
Ismael
Hi,
We would like to apologize for the late response.
The original product images are quite small. The minimum size should be 450x450px. If you can’t upload images that big, try this css code in the Quick CSS field instead.
#top .thumbnail_container img {
margin: 0 auto;
display: block;
width: auto;
height: auto;
}
Best regards,
Ismael
Hi there, I wonder how the [av_privacy_video_embeds] functionality is supposed to work. Because so far, when I use it (from the modal window of the cookie consent or from a shortcode in a privacy policy), I cannot see that it makes any kind of difference. Please, to make it clear: I am not complaining at all. I just would like to understand how it works :-). So, by actually disabling embedded videos, videos are displayed like before, no preview graphic replacement or 2click solution and first of all, cookies are still set from YouTube. At least this is my observation so far. I checked but couldn’t find a documentation so I would like to understand:
– under which circumstances ist the shortcode going to work: videos in iFrames and/or videos from the Enfold elements where you can add video URL’S?
– what does it do: only block cookies or disable the display of the video at all? Or offer a graphical preview of the video which will make it start only by click on the thumbnail?
– should it work for both YouTube and Vimeo?
– does it actually work at all in Enfold 4.4 or is it still lacking functionality?
Thank you all very much, a quick clarification is much appreciated. Thanks!
When I click on blog category, the archives don’t display the related category post in thumbnail view. How can I change the display setting of archives? It looks unprofessional. Plz tell me the solution urgently
Hi,
Thanks for the info. The full size version of the image was not inserted. It’s actually using the “medium” thumbnail. We selected the full size back.
Best regards,
Ismael
Hi,
Are you sure that the size of the posts’ featured images are the same? The grid won’t look like the screenshot if that’s the case. Please edit the blog posts’ element then look for the “Preview Image Size” settings. Set it to “manual” or the second option then select the appropriate thumbnail size.
Best regards,
Ismael
Thanx for the reply!
Ok, but can someone tell me how to avoid the thumbnails to go blurry and pixelated ?
Hi
I just upgraded to version 4.4 and the partner/logo element increased in size (images). Int was set at Shop Thumbnail 120px x 120px, so I increased it to 180px x 180px to see if it would change and looked the same. I then put it back to the preferred size and it didn’t change back.
Is there a way I can reduce the logos because they’re nearly touching and it looks naff.
cheers Kinnear
After a lot of investigation I got down to the root of the problem. There are two ways to upload a photo and attach to the Color Section background. 1) Upload the photo first using Media Library, then when attaching the photo to the Color Section, select it from the Media Library. or 2) While attaching the photo to the Color Section, go to “Upload Files”.. then upload, then set the Attachment Display Settings to FULL SIZE. If you do method (1) you may have forgotten that the photo was originally uploaded with the default Attachment Display Setting of THUMBNAIL, which is what I had been doing. Since you’re not at a place where that setting can be set (or seen), it isn’t obvious that the setting is wrong, ie. should be FULL SIZE instead. Whether or not you have Background Repeat set to NONE or STRETCH TO FIT doesn’t matter in this case since the Color Section always tries to “stretch to fit” apparently.
There does appear to be a real bug in that sometimes Background Image Position of “CENTER CENTER” actually handles the picture the same as “TOP CENTER”, which is incorrect. Can you please log that issue as a real bug and have it be put in the queue to be fixed? I’m not exactly sure under what specific conditions this occurs, but I was able to reproduce it. I’d really like to get this fixed as I like the Enfold Theme a lot and am using it for many websites.
Thanks!
