You can update WordPress. The update processes are independent and this plugin will not affect your WordPress update. The Layer Slider will be saying that it is not activated all the time, if you want it activated you need to buy the license.

These solutions will show different logos on different paged but will not rotate logos. Enfold does not have such an option out of the box.

Last time the user had the same issue, they had their mod_security configured properly and it solved it. The 403 forbidden is in many cases the server issue, not the theme.
