So this is a different story. You don’t want any highlighting on hover, right?
Here is the code you can put in styles.css in child theme:

Well, you can give the text input in that form a different ID and write your custom logic where you will have to handle that form submit. Or give the form the class of “av_disable_ajax_search” and you will have to handle submit yourself.

Layer Slider can be used as a separate plugin, it costs $20 that way and can be updates any time an update is available, disabling Layer Slider is safe :) It’s just a set of files and functions that will not be called and used.

Well, here is a great article about updating WP and clearing opcache. So let’s try to flush the opcode cache, install new files and would be nice to restart the server maybe. Not sure hosting providers actually allow that.

For some reason the text color there is set to white, probably the footer color rule.

Was going to look at your site, but it’s loading forever and looks like going to be a response timeout. Are you having issues?
Anyway, here you can set a screen width, below which the Layer Slider will hide and then, show the section that you make on the page and which is going to be hidden, until the Layer Slider hides.
