Ok, after some investigation, I notice that when the screen size is odd, there is 1px difference in the width of the element and so the height adjusts too. When the screen size is even, there is no gap.

You don’t need to change blog settings, the settings that work here are the ones made in the Advanced Layout Builder element. And you need to select to show excerpt and put text in there that you want to show. You did all the opposite.

It looks like this, because column next to it is taller and the content is aligned to middle vertically. The video cannot take up the whole space because of it’s aspect ratio. It’s the same with other images that you have, they have to be square to fit perfectly into the space.

It says that search is appended only to the main menu

All other menus are not main menus and so the search is not appended.
You will need to make edits in /themes/enfold/includes/helper-main-menu.php to have search on all menus.
