1. You can turn off file compression under Enfold->Performance.

2. I tried logging to check your settings, but the details you posted are not working. Please check and verify. If you have a test page where we can see the actual problem, then please link directly to it as well.

If the updates should not come through via the theme backend, then you can try to install and configure this plugin: https://envato.com/market-plugin/

This is not a general theme problem, if a theme problem at all. That is why we would need server logs in order to help you out further. Your hosting provider would likely be in a better position to help you out further though.

Elementor is not a supported plugin, so we can’t provide support for it unfortunately. I’ve seen many Enfold installations running Elementor on Enfold though, so the problem is likely local to your site. Did you make sure that it’s not a conflict from another plugin or code for example?

Thanks for the update. It depends on if you have overridden any theme files in your child? If you have footer.php and header.php in there for example, then they would need to be copied back in from the parent. You can add your customisations back in after that.
