Hi Nick,

There’s no magic trick in trying to override archive.php, you’ll just need to create archive.php in the child theme (or copy the file from enfold to the child theme).
Can you give us both admin and FTP access? so we can check on both files and the backend.

Thanks for the detailed description of the issue, however, it will need a lot of time for tweaking it and testing which is also outside the scope of our support.
I would suggest removing the pagination and instead, put a button below the magazine element which should direct users to the enfant category archives.

Your av-helper-slideshow.php in the child theme might be missing this static function: default_args

I tried the same setup as you have on my local server and I didn’t have those issues.
I also tried to use Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and it seems to be pointing at the child theme though I don’t see any issues in your child theme.
Can you try to disable caching then switch to the parent theme and check the page?

I think the issue might be old js file is being served (caching issue), to resolve the issue you probably will need to disable Javascript file merging and compression in Enfold > Performance.

I was able to update your site successfully and it seems to work properly (I have removed jQuery Migrate Helper).
Please review your site.

If all is good you can do the following to your live site:

First make a backup:
– Site Backup: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/backup-wordpress-site/
– Theme Settings Backup: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/backup-theme-settings/

Then do the following steps:
1. Login to ThemeForest and download the Enfold theme, right-click over the downloaded zip file and extract/unzip it.
2. It should generate a new folder, open it and look for the enfold folder
3. Right-click the enfold folder then zip it, here’s a tutorial on how to create a zip file in windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/668409/how-to-zip-and-unzip-files-on-windows-10/ (this should create enfold.zip
4. Log in to WordPress as and Admin.
5. Install and activate a maintenance plugin and put your site in Maintenance mode.
6. Go to Appearance > Themes, switch to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty then delete Enfold.
7. Click on the ADD NEW button.
8. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
9. Click BROWSE and choose enfold.zip file
10. Click the INSTALL NOW button and switch to Enfold or your child theme.
11. Remove the maintenance mode then deactivate and remove the maintenance plugin.

Register the theme by following the instructions in https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Once this is done, the next time you update, you’ll only need to go to Enfold > Theme Updates and click on the Update button.

You can use this format as your base CSS:

```
You’ll just need to replace name to the name of your category, so if it’s tech, it should be category-tech.
The code should look something like:
```
.single-post .category-name .post-title {

}

.single-post .category-name .entry-content {

}
```

The Book Now link is causing js errors, to fix this, please use a URL shortener like https://bitly.com/ to convert the link into a shortened version of the link which should not cause any issues.

It seems you are still using a fairly old version of the theme (Enfold 4.4.1), please backup your site and try to update it with the latest version (Enfold 4.8.1) which is compatible with WordPress 5.7.

Please update your theme to the latest version Enfold 4.8.1 as this is a bug showing in Enfold 4.8 (make sure to have a backup first before updating).

We’re happy to hear that it’s fixed :)
There are also some rare moments where some js files are not loaded (probably to network failure or caching issues) which could potentially be an issue.
Anyways, we’ll leave this thread open, so you can post anytime this issue appears again.
