Many thanks for your help @guenni007 – and the notes within the code, much appreciated :)
I’m going to give that a try later this week and report back here.
I know creating a Child theme is the right thing to do, but presumably the code will work if I put it in functions.php?
Also, I see the last line reads:add_action(‘wp_footer’…
I was just wondering what the reference to the footer was?
Thanks :)- This reply was modified 3 years, 7 months ago by Niels.
This reply has been marked as private. Thanks for that Rikard :)
I’m just trying to set the following type of grid/layout using Layout Elements with Text and Image Blocks, but can’t avoid the 1/4 columns (3, 4, 5, and 6) falling below the taller left hand 1/2 column.
That’s perfect, many thanks Yigit.
:)
Thanks for that Yigit, but that only lets me change the font, font colour and size. I would also like to change the letter-spacing and display it uppercase.
Thanks for that Ismael.
I have looked at the video and creating a Child Theme looks an interesting for the future. But as Devin says in the video, it should be planned and started before Enfold is installed. As the site is now live, that’s not really an option for me now.
I have received some good help from the Kriesi team regarding styling changes in the last 3 weeks as I have built my first WordPress Enfold site. All of the changes suggested by the Kriesi team have been written through the Enfold/WP Dashboard/Appearance/Custom CSS and above the editing window I see the title ‘Custom CSS’ – see screenshot attached.
http://i.imgur.com/Loh22ye.png
I have traced the file it writes to – it is called custom-css-full.css (and seems to be ‘compressed’ to custom-css-1385755199.min for code efficiency).

When I have edited the Custom (or Quick?) CSS in this way, my changes could be instantly seen and the Enfold main theme CSS file was not altered.
Since I made the site live (by moving the index.php file out of the development subdirectory to the root, and pointing the home page URL to the subdirectory containing the WP Enfold site) I have lost the Custom/Quick CSS changes, I guess because my Enfold theme can’t find them.
Can you tell me how I can get Enfold to see the Custom/Quick CSS edits in the way it used to be able to see them?
I’m sure it simply a case of pointing to the right CSS file – I think it’s a line involving: id=’custom-css-css’
I probably could Ismael, but I’d like to keep the custom CSS separate from Enfold’s them CSS, for two reasons.
Firstly I will be handing the site over to my client for updating and any future theme upgrade would probably overwrite the custom.css. Secondly, I would also like to be able to easily tweak the CSS with the WP dashboard in the way I have been able to do so far.
I’ve discovered that editing the Custom CSS within the WP Enfold appearance dashboard changes the files custom-css-full.css and custom-css-1385755199.min, and not the file custom.css.
To make the site live, I’ve moved the index.php file out of the development subdirectory to the root, and pointing to the subdirectory containing the WP site – I think telling WP where the edited custom-css files are would cure the problem.
I just can’t see where I should make this change to point WP to custom-css-1385755199.min – hope you can tell me how.
Thanks Josue.
A sample gallery page can be seen here: http://enamellers.org/bsoe/gallery/tamizan-savill/
You will see that the pale grey pop-up caption/tooltip boxes aren’t centred, but are a little to the left.
I’d also like them to be closer to their ‘parent’ image when they pop up if possible.
I’ve just had a play and found that you can add HTML within the Enfold site design/structure.
I’ve made a new page and used the Default Editor (not the Advanced Layout Editor).
Select the ‘Text’ tab at the top right of the editing window (not ‘Visual’).
Write your HTML directly into this area.
Select all of your code and define it as ‘code’ in the button bar – or just start the code with
<code>
and finish with</code>
.Seems to work fine.
Great, that works perfectly, many thanks Ismael.
I notice that the tooltip box appears off-centre, slightly to the left of the target image – can I adjust its position so that it appears perfectly centred?
Also, I would like to tooltip box to appear slightly lower – that is, closer to the target box. Again, can I adjust this?
Perfect, many thanks Josue.
:o)
Great, many thanks Ismael.
:)
OK, thanks Yigit.
Would it be possible for me to design a page layout in Enfold/Avia as the 404 Error landing page and to edit the error404.php file to point to the newly designed page, so that users land there?
—————————————————
Update – I’ve found a plugin which will point any 404 page not found errors to my own purpose-designed 404 page. It’s called 404 Simple Redirect… http://jordiplana.com/404-simple-redirect-plugin-for-wordpress

Yes – I had that too.
Just delete the test ‘http://’ in the ‘website link’ box in the specific Testimonials editing box.
OK, thanks Yigit. I did find that file, but decided not to touch it – I’m not really up to writing/editing PHP.
I was hoping there might be a 404 Error page I could edit (or create) in the same way as I can create other pages in Enfold.
Is it possible to do this, maybe calling it from within the error404.php file?
Hello Delphiline,
I’m a bit of an Enfold ‘newbie’, but read the support section for tips and advice.
From reading your question, I think that maybe you are using the word ‘vignette’ where perhaps you mean ‘thumbnail image’?
I suspect that English is not your first language – a ‘vignette’ is an effect used on a picture, where the edges fade out gradually to white (or any other colour), giving a very soft look to the image.
A ‘thumbnail’ is a small image, often used in galleries to save space on the page. Users click on the small ‘thumbnail’ to show the larger image – as in the Enfold gallery example JPG you’ve linked to.
Working perfectly, thanks!
:o)
haha, sorry, realised you’d changed the original code/post…
…no code Yigit???
;o)
Many thanks Yigit.
That sorts out the thumbnails perfectly, but unfortunately it also affects the larger image above too – which had been fine…
Hi – yes, the gallery test page is here:
Enfold feature request – Gallery and Portfolio.
1 – Gallery
Ability to add captions/descriptions under (or over) the main/large preview image in the Gallery with Preview.
Also to have these captions/descriptions appear under (or over) the pop-up slide show images2 – Portfolio
To have the option of removing the grey keyline borders completely.
To be able to introduce space between imagesThanks,
:o)
OK, thanks Devin – I’ll explore some plugins.
I’ll also post the option to include captions in the ‘feature request’ thread.
:o)
Perfect – many thanks Yigit!

Hi,
thanks for that. I was still seeing the flickering on Mac and PC versions of Chrome – latest things I tried…
• Updated Enfold to latest version – content still flickering/jumping in Chrome.
• Built a brand new EasySlider page in the new version of Enfold – content still flickering/jumping in Chrome.
• Updated WordPress to the new 3.7 – content still flickering/jumping in Chrome.
• Copied and pasted your latest block of code into Custom CSS… success – content now stable!!!Thanks for all your help.
:o)
Yes, that’s the right URL Kriesi.
I installed the latest version of Enfold by FTP, copying the entire new Enfold folder over the old installation in the site’s Themes directory.
This morning, on Chrome (Mac and Windows) I see:
As each new image appears in the slider, it makes text and images below, in the main content area of the page, nudge very slightly to left and then back. All of the text lightens in colour slightly for a second. This only happens to content in the second (and greater) columns – first column content on the left border does not seem to be affected. Once all of the images in EasySlider have run through once, this problem stops. But if I refresh the page, then it all happens again.
I have updated the them by FTP, now showing as version 2.4.1
Sorry to say though that the problem with the content ‘jumping’ is the same, on both OSX and Windows version of Google Chrome.
Sounds good. To save my custom CSS from being over-written, should I update the theme by FTP?
Thanks.
Thanks Kriesi.
I’ve added the new code in the CSS.
Very strangely, it seems to have cured the problem in Chrome on the Mac, but not when viewed on my PC laptop (Windows 8).
Thanks for your reply Devin.
I have a few plugins on Chrome, I’ve disabled them all and the issue still happens. I’m on OSX 10.6.8.
I have created a completely new page and put in a new EasySlider slide show… same problem.
I’ve just checked the page on a new PC running Windows 8 and Chrome v30… same problem. OK on Explorer.
The tiny 1 pixel movement is in all content below the EasySlider – but only on second, third or fourth column content. Any content on the left edge of the page does not move. Once the slide show has run through once, then the content remains stable, until the screen is refreshed or visited again.
This is the same on both PC and Mac, but only in Chrome.
Regarding the text boxes in EasySlider, no problem. I think I read on another support thread that LayerSlider will only run at full screen width, which is why I went for EasySlider – is that right?
