I didn’t update any of my 29 lionesses yet. @Yigit – I have one site that I was going to be taking down soon anyway and it is running PHP 5.6

As per your request a new thread has been started and it references this ticket. If the site crashes and we can’t get back in I will take it down a little earlier.

All the information you need is in that ticket which is linked in the Private Content below.

in reply to: Site down since update #899128

@Victoria (or any moderator) What is the minimum PHP requirement for enfold 4.2.x?

in reply to: Site down since update #898675

Just another user here but my suggestion is that if you are using a Child version, just re-upload the main Enfold theme folder. if you have the previous version somewhere you are golden.

PS I believe Envato is delivering 4.1 still so…

I’m good! Close this ticket as resolved wonderfully!

in reply to: Images small in Lightbox #863454

Thank you! It took a while as I had ever 1500 images on the site but that fixed it.

I take it that is the default? I never set it so… I thought it was a setting in Enfold somewhere and I couldn’t find it!

    Ismael, Thank you.

I’ll be damned. Missed that one.

    Thanks again!

in reply to: Fatal Error After Update to 4.0.6 #794147

I too am getting this exact error.
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /xxx/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-form-generator.php on line 435

I have disabled all plugins and reinstalled the 4.0.6 version, same result. I am now in the process of restoring to a backup from yesterday and version 4.0.5. I have a test site available if we need to crash things there.

These are on GoDaddy servers running php 5.6 (wait, I just got DOWN graded by Go Daffy to 5.4 to force me to upgrade accounts)- I am assuming this is the issue, am I correct? If so I have bigger issues as GoDaffy refuses to update to PHP-7. I know I was on 5.6 as is seen in other threads! I hate my hosting provider.

in reply to: Featured Image on Blog Page/in Section #788362

OK I am a fool at times. Thank you! This does exactly what I need.

in reply to: Featured Image on Blog Page/in Section #788168

    That did not work.

I am assuming that the “page-id-70” is site specific and not something I have to look up. If I do have to look it up, (amateur time), how do I do that?

If it is the right page ID, then what is our next step?

in reply to: Word Press 4.7 #779459

I am just a user of the theme but I have to say that any issues you are having with the Masonry Gallery is not the version (4.0.5), at least in my case. I use it for blog posts, and a ton of images on 25 different site (yes I bought the theme 25 times), and I have zero issues.

Here is a list of the plugins I use.

    Akismet
    AWeber Web Forms
    Better Analytics
    Featured Image in RSS Feed
    Google analyticator
    Jetpack
    Really Simple SSL
    Really Simple SSL Pro
    TinyMCE Advanced
    Transient Manager
    WP Meta SEO
    WO-Sweep
    Yoast SEO Premium

What is loaded but not activated:

    Google Analytics Dashboard
    Google XML Sitemaps
    Media Library Assistant
    P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler)
    Theme Check
    Under Construction
    Yoast SEO

These are all on one site with no issues. These are used in different combinations on all 25 sites, not all of them and mostly not the same ones loaded.

    I don’t use a cache plugin. I am using PHP 5.6.

There is a good base for you all to start with. But I can certify, its not the theme or theme framework directly. There has to be a conflict somewhere.

    Side note:

    Hosting providers:
    GoDaddy – 20
    HostGator – 3
    1ON1 – 1
    WPEngine
    – 2

PS – If you have questions let me know. I have one license I use for testing so if you want me to try some plugin, and I have time, I will be happy to. Again, I do not work for Kriesi. They have created a great product and I am just willing to help out.

in reply to: Word Press 4.7 #775747

fulanoinc Check your PHP version. I think you will find you are using something less than 5.6. I would update that first. Then again, I am not a support tech for Kriesi, Hell. I’m not a support tech for anyone anymore! But that is what worked for me, updating to 5.4/5.6 depending on the site.

    4.0.5 fixes it.

    Thank you!

    Rikard,

Is there a way to use the builder and display the full content? The only reason I ask is this particular site is going to have very few posts, like maybe 6-8 a year, if I try hard. I am sure I will fun into a client that wants it too but haven’t as of yet. Yet being the operative word.

If no work around I will make a feature request.

    Thanks!

in reply to: Update Plugin – Missing update #770364

Which version? I am running 4.0.4 and have the ‘issue’

As I said before, not a big deal but it is a bit annoying.

PS – I have converted the blog post (yes only 1 at this point) to the default style so I can use it. Feel free to create what you need, the site is not busy yet. But it is live!

in reply to: slider priority – width vs height #763618

    Feature requested.

in reply to: slider priority – width vs height #762212

The point is that on many of the sites I build, they are for photographers and they need varying image sizes so that an image only needs to be loaded once. When exporting from Lightroom for example, the images are usually exported as say 1500px on the longest side. This means that images in a landscape orientation will have a different height than those with portrait orientation. When these images are loaded into a slider the content below is moving constantly. Irritating for the visitor, hence increased bounce rates.

Also very often images are not the same size, in fact they are rarely the same size by default. This is a major issue for photographers wanting to include what is called Tear Sheets along with actual ads and product images. Tear sheets are usually of an orientation of a full magazine page but images within the same publication are rarely a full page, even when they are in a portrait orientation.

All of this leads to a compromise of cropping an image to less than optimum configuration. A simple solution to this is to have the sliders prioritize width over height rather than height over width as they do currently.

I am not speaking about galleries, I am only talking about the sliders. Sliders are almost a requirement for creatives even though they may have a gallery further down the page and/or many galleries on other pages.

So in short, the point is that if the variation of size is compensated horizontally rather than vertically this will make my job easier, and it will make your theme more attractive to photographers, painters, graphic artists, and a plethora of other creatives.

in reply to: Soft 404 errors leads me to find no 404 pages… #760916

I have used some tools to resolve this (I hope). Lets see what Google says in a month r so when i get re-crawled.

    For now, close this ticket.

in reply to: Soft 404 errors leads me to find no 404 pages… #759466

Basilis – I have added that to the robots.txt but the more important issue is why is it not returning a 404 error. If you load any random URL you will get an page that reads, “Nothing Found Sorry, the post you are looking for is not available. Maybe you want to perform a search?” but is not returning a Error 404 – Page Not Found code.

That is the part that concerns me. Is the proper code being sent?

Just wanted to bump this up as it is not like you guys to not reply pretty quickly.

    Thanks!

in reply to: Word Press 4.7 #755607

@Rikard – My pleasure. You can take the tech out of support, but you can’t take the support out of the tech!

in reply to: Word Press 4.7 #755063

Yep. It’s a PHP issue. The one site I was having issues with was running 5.2. When upgraded to 5.4, perfect.

in reply to: Word Press 4.7 #754778

Are you talking about the headers in the Advanced Layout Editor edit screens? If so I just got that on one of my sites too. Now, I am only getting it on my one site that is on HostGator, I am not getting it on my GoDaddy or WP Engine sites. The first thing I will check in the morning is the PHP version.

Also I would start a new thread as this thread really isn’t the right spot for this issue. Shoot me a message when you do (michael(at)michael albany.com) and I will make at least two sites available to Kriese so they can compare the two.

FYI it will be about 8 hours or so before I am back online to add that info.

in reply to: Word Press 4.7 #754772

    Simagald,

Just another user here but are you on WP 4.7.2 and Enfold 4.0.2? If not I would start there. If so, then its time to look at the plugins. Disable them one at a time or al at once and then turn them back on one at a time and see when the issues return.

    That’s how I approach it.

    Michael

in reply to: Can't change body font #738398

    Yigit,

OK that worked but it beats the hell out of me where all that came from. I never even went into advanced on this site so I never thought to look there.

Thanks! I think. now to figure out where it came from…

    Close this ticket please.

25 Enfold licenses installed and still loving every one! Keep up the great work!

in reply to: Can't change body font #738385

    Rikard,

That’s my point, I never set that up. I have not added the custom font. Work Sans is an option for the header but honestly I never noticed it’s existence before yesterday. I even reloaded the parent theme manually as to overwrite anything calling to it. No change.

It’s not a huge deal at this point for me to reconfigure the General Styling if I can get the theme to respond to those changes, but it’s not.

If reloading the theme is not working, then what?

in reply to: Lightbox images disappear – mobile only #733437

    Thanks Yigit! That fixed it!

Please close this ticket. (trying not to forget to ask you to do that from now on)
