    Hi Josue,
I pulled most of the offending occurrences. But put two back in to illustrate. Visit http://www.amequipment.com/
scroll down to the section titled “World Class Products and Services That Last” which comes right after a color section pupolated by some of our customers’ logos.

The top two image files in the 1/3 width column (a US Coast Guard boat and a a picture of three Light Rail trains) have a 5px whitespace separator and a 15px separator, respectively. You will see the both appear to have been spaced about the same 50px.

    (I’m using Firefox 29.0.1, Chorme 35.0.1916.114, and Safari 7.0.4 (9537.76.4), for testing.

But, interestingly enough, I started working on a new home page this morning – (Visit http://www.amequipment.com/new-home/) to see an early draft of the page — I’ve used a whitespace separator above the B&W picture of motors in the 1/2 width left had column titled “DC Motors”. In this instance, the separator works as expected.

Could it be that old pages have legacy code in some element or another that impacts the separators?
    Regards,
    Jamie

    Hey back Peter,

I can’t tell you how thankful I am for your help. I’ve been struggling for weeks on this. Sorry I caused you unnecessary effort. But thanks and thanks again.

I was able to replicate the problem on a scratch site (http://conservio.com)
    Situation

    • WP 3.9
    • WPML3.5.1
    • Enfold 2.7

    Problem
    1. WPML language switcher flags appear either in main Menu or Top Menu regardless of how plugin is configured
    2. selecting a secondary language results in 404 error or display of the wrong translated page
    3. Problem does not occur if I switch to 2014 theme — only with Enfold theme (in more than one place)

I think this might be a problem with the theme.
    Look forward to your reply.

in reply to: Problem with WPML switcher showinf in menu #257674

I do have the latest WPML plugin ( 3.1.5) . Installed it minutes before I posted in the forum. Any other ides about what might be going wrong. Already tried disabling all other plugins (only use two), cache flushing. I’m at a loss.

in reply to: Menu Item Without It Being a Page? #197298

    HI Erica,
I had the same problem and solved it by adding a “Links” menu item – I used google.com for the link content. Named it “Products” in my case. Added it to the menu. Then I edited out the google link once “Products” was in the menu. Nested the different pages I wanted to appear in the drop down, Saved the menu. Works.

    Good luck,
    jamie

in reply to: 404 Error when trying to access Author Archive #165702

I think it was a problem on the WP side. I just backed everything up and did a new WP install to solve the issue.

Thanks for the help. I don’t know how to indicate this problem is resolved with the new forum.

in reply to: 404 Error when trying to access Author Archive #164509

    Hello back Josue,

The default theme works as expected – the archive is displayed. Switch back to Enfold and author archive still generates a 404 error. I am less worried about this than I was, because the problem does not show up on our live site, just the development installation.

in reply to: Blog Posts "Excerpt with Read More Link" replaces post title #164498

    Peter,

    Here’s the link. http://www.amequipment.com/enfold-example/

    Installed Plugins are:

    • wpml CMS
    • ,wpml String Translation
    • All in One SEO Pack
    • Google XML Site Maps
    • Redirection

Browsers I’ve tested it on are Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on iMac OS X 10.8.4 and Firefox on two PC’s, one with Windows 7 and one with Windows Vista.

My apologies to Ishmael, I was a bit too testy. It was the middle of the night here in Oregon.

My purpose is to have one column of blog posts to cover the technical aspects of the products and a second column that is more news and general interests.

    Regards,
    jamie

So Ishmael, how is that supposed to help me? That is definitely not support — you don’t see a problem, therefore none exists. That’s snark. Please pass this on to someone who is willing to help.

Check at the bottom of the page: http://www.amequipment.com/ Which I will leave as is for the next two hours, because we don’t get much traffic during the night.

BTW – I don’t have this problem on the development site, just on the more important business site.

    Regards,
    jamie

in reply to: 404 Error when trying to access Author Archive #163505

    1. Sorry, I am well aware of the User Profile and that’s why I mentioned that I am the only user. My nickname is Jamie and there are no other profiles. The user name is jgwyant.

    2. I used Jaybo as a nickname briefly on this site a couple of years ago, belng before I switched to Enfold. Why has it shown up now?

    3. I also flushed the permalinks — repeatedly.

    4. I know where the gravitar comes from. I know how it works. I’ve used mine for years on end. I have a bio on Gravitar.com and the same bio on the WP install. It isn’t being used. But it isn’t showing up.

    5. On the active site, for which conservio.com is my test site, http://www.amequipment.com/author/jamie/ a bio I used years ago (on another site) is showing up –

I think for some reason Enfold isn’t picking up the most recent database entry for author information.

    So back to you.

in reply to: 404 Error when trying to access Author Archive #163080

Please add this question to the list: Where does the Blog Posts content element pick up author gravitar and bio information from?

    Thanks,
    jamie

Sorry about the delay. Yes, I resolved the issue. It was my error. Didn’t fully understand how WPML handled menus. But given enough chances I got it right.

in reply to: Advanced Editor Disappeared #122322

I had the same experience a couple of days ago when I uploaded from a development site. The fix was too easy.

When you are in “Edit Page” – look for the Screen Options tab in the upper right corner. Make sure the Avia Layout Builder option is checked.

Mine wasn’t, though how it became unselected remains a mystery. If it is checked or if this doesn’t work – wait for one of the real support guys to help.

They aren’t gone forever, just moved to the trash. It’s easy to recover them.

in reply to: Missing Advanced Layout Editor #121237

Devin –thank you, thank you. I never even noticed the screen option tab before.
