Wow, Kriesi! Good to see you here! And thanks for the detailed explanation. I hope tomorrow’s patch is a success and we can put this one behind us and focus on all the great new functionality you’re building for our theme…. side bars that auto-hide, more mobile features…. can’t wait.
Thanks,
RobFebruary 6, 2018 at 6:18 pm in reply to: New WordPress 4.9.3. today – any impact on Enfold Safari full screen video bug? #908708Hi Yigit!
Thanks for your update. That upcoming update is like Madonna’s next world tour…. WHEN?!! :)
I pushed new WP and 4.22 to staging site and video seems to be working…. my friend is going to check on her Mac today. So perhaps this one did fix the full screen video issue?
iPad pro issue is indeed still there.
Best,
RobIn Webmaster tools, go to “fetch as Google” and fetch your home page with rendering on… then when you submit, tick the option to submit that page and all linked pages. Within 24 hours you should see a re-scan appear in the index. It is not instantaneous.
February 6, 2018 at 7:19 am in reply to: New WordPress 4.9.3. today – any impact on Enfold Safari full screen video bug? #908377With respect, we have been hearing that since October 2017. It’s getting very, very old.
I’m curious if any users or anyone with a Mac has accessed a full page video on Safari with the new WordPress 4.9.3 to see if the FLV bug fix included in 4.9.3 somehow fixed the Enfold video bug….?
Thanks
Enfold theme options –> No Lightbox Modal Window
You can also Try the “noLightbox” css class….
Hope that helps.
Great! Any update on when we will see 4.2.3 push out?

RobFebruary 3, 2018 at 1:12 am in reply to: Enfold 4.2.1. coming? Or Should I update and fix issues with temporary fixes? #907144Go Daddy is terrible. I used to run into issues like this all the time even when updating plugins, much less a theme. Since I switched to WP Engine my life has been much easier… and none of the constant up-selling that Go Daddy does.
A mod will be better able to help you with your specific issue and you may want to create a new thread just for that. They will likely tell you to upload new theme files via FTP and overwrite all the old ones, assuming you did the update from your WordPress dashboard.
You may also want to check out this article… I had this problem when I had Go Daddy and this fix got my site back up:
But definitely my #1 recommendation, after you get your site back up, is to find a better hosting provider. There are many that are far superior to Go Daddy and just a little more $$$.
Good luck!
February 2, 2018 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Possible to make the default separator 50 px whitespace? #907039Basilis,
Thanks, I would like it to default to whitespace 50px. Can you tell me the code and the file to modify for that? Thanks,
RobFebruary 1, 2018 at 5:45 pm in reply to: Google Has Started Indexing Lightbox Photos…? Strange #906391Almost a year later and I finally figured this one out, so wanted to post in case others search and run into the same problem. (Also good for the mods to know).
I did not realize I have to “attach” my media file uploads to specific pages and posts. My process is to upload a bunch of pictures to the media area, then add them to posts or pages with ALB. This results in the images being “unattached” to a post, and Yoast SEO does not then know to re-direct Google crawler inquiries to the master post.
(It would be GREAT if Enfold would automatically attach media files to posts / pages when they are imported to those pages,…)
If you want to read more about this issue, go to this link:

Thanks… sounds like I should wait for 4.2.3. Let’s hope the devs can roll it out quickly. I will leave my staging credentials in place for a couple of days in case they want to test 4.2.3 on my staging site.
Regards
RobHi Yigit, I think our messages posted simultaneously.. ESP! So at this point what should I do? Stay on 4.1.2 until 4.2.3 rolls out? I’m confused — did you decide your hotfix isn’t sufficient so devs need to work on it further?
Thanks!
RobHi Yigit, where are we on this now? Should I wait for 4.2.3 for the Safari fix too or update to 4.2.2? And what is the hotfix I would add to my production site? (Is it just the css above, or were there other files modified).
I fear Enfold 9.0 will roll out and I’ll still be on 4.1.2…. :) :) :)
Thanks!
RobI have a X and am not having any issues… is there something I’m missing?
My friend pulled it up on her Mac and said it looks strange – flashing black and grey and then she had to push a button to launch video. I haven’t seen it myself. Do you guys know someone with a Mac over there? I am concerned that the emulation mode on Chrome just shows a grey screen….
Thanks!
RobThanks… I think to have non auto play, which is different than current behavior, is less than ideal. If it’s not possible to go back to the way it works in 2.1.4, is it possible to reset the only_mobile breakpoint coding you gave me a long time ago to include iPad pro in the mobile view? Then only desktop will have autoplay feature.
For my new property videos I am going to use Smart Slider 3 (which is AWESOME by the way) but I need these old pages to work when people go look at them.
Thanks!
RobHi Yigit, I have asked my friend to test it from her iPad pro, but on the Chrome development tools it shows grey screen. If you press “play’ it then plays music but no video….. :(
I just checked with WP Engine support and they suggested you consult this article:
He said that WP Engine doesn’t offer cpanel…. I did have it with Go Daddy but not with them.
RE the key warning, he said “Okay, that is more of a warning saying “hey, you never connected to this host before, are you sure you are in the right place? we don’t recognize it” and you say yes and it lets you in.
So once you connect to it, then it won’t throw that warning anymore.”
Be sure in the private credentials you noticed that the user name changed as well from my initial credentials I gave you….?
Thanks!
RobHi Yigit, I’m sorry to hear that. Are you using Filezilla?
I just tried again plugging above credentials in and while I get the server key warning, once I click OK it does log in and I see the files on the server.I will ask WP Engine about this… but if you haven’t tried Filezilla, I suggest you maybe try that? It’s freeware.
best
RobTypo above… should say “I used Filezilla and got IN” with these new credentials. Trying to post quickly since I know it’s late your time and I’m probably about to lose you for the day… :)
Yigit, I’m sorry! User name was incorrect. Had to change password when I was diagnosing issue. New info in private field. I used Filezilla and got it, but it does give you that server key error and you have to click OK… hope this helps and sorry again.
Hi Yigit, just click “OK” to accept the new server key. That just means the server key was updated since your last access.
Thanks for looking into this issue!
January 30, 2018 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Need previous version"Full Screen Slider Video not loading" issue? #905003Thanks Victoria, you’ve been a great addition to the moderator group in the last year or so. We just need about 10 more Victorias!
Best,
RobYes the rotating threw me off too… I’m hoping this is just a breakpoint issue.
Credentials in private content below.
Ps please make sure you’re going to page in private content below… staging site. Production site still running 4.1.2
Hi Yigit,
OK I just had trouble replicating and realized I had the settings wrong to replicate. To replicate this in Chrome developer tools:
– Ipad Pro view
– 1366 x 1024 screen (use the little symbol next to “online” to rotate it)
– Refresh page (important)
– It will say “Please set a mobile fallback image…”Hope this helps!
Thanks,
RobJanuary 29, 2018 at 7:25 pm in reply to: Need previous version"Full Screen Slider Video not loading" issue? #904379I am sad to say I must agree. As one of the top 5 themes, Enfold should never have gotten to this stage. But I love the theme and really appreciate the help of the mods. I hope the development quality dramatically improves. The focus has been too much on creating new demos instead of improving functionality and stability of the current product. The former sells the first license, the latter sells licenses 2-100+.
Something really needs to change for me to continue trusting my sites to Enfold.
Hi Yigit!
I was at a friend’s house and used her iPad pro and it displayed the “fallback image” error. It also does it on Chrome –> Developer Tools — > Ipad Pro Windows 10 Chrome Version Version 63.0.3239.132.
Let me know if you have trouble replicating and I can upload screenshots if that helps?
THANK YOU!!
Best
RobPS I assume Safari patch will come in a future update? I did not realize Safari was having issues displaying full screen video until I saw posts on the forum and then used my friend’s Apple laptop.
Saundra, I would talk to Go Daddy and escalate it… it definitely sounds to me like a server issue. As a former Go Daddy customer, I have to say that 99% of my problems went away when I switched to WP Engine, for what that’s worth.
January 27, 2018 at 11:15 pm in reply to: 4.2.2. Out and Video Bug is Improved But Still There #903815Yigit,
I google “background video safari wordpress bug” and only got one current result, this one from a theme that released a patch to fix it back in October. Is this bug something devs are working on? Safari is a major browser platform so we really need this functionality.
https://churchthemes.com/update-fix-background-video-safari-11/
Also I’m waiting for a response on the ipad pro issue above.
Thanks!!!!
