I tried that and I still cant get it to work. It will apply any changes I put in the layer’s style box (except the background color) but doesn’t seem to be taking any changes I put in either quick CSS or custom.css.
Sorry for another question on this. But once I create the attribute for the layer, how do I properly reference the attribute in the custom.css or quick CSS?
I know what the actual CSS code should be, but Im just a little fuzzy on the syntax to reference the layer properly.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks Ismael. I’ll give it a try. How do I give the logo a unique CSS selector?
Ismael,
Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestions above and had the same results. I already had a padding set for the image layer and the background color set to black. When I do that the preview looks fine with a black box, however, the live slider doesn’t show the background.
The same thing happened when I pasted in your CSS sample above. The white box looked just fine on the preview but on the live slider all I got was the logo with no back ground.
Please take a look at the screenshots below. The first three are the settings for the layer and the preview from the LayerSlider admin area. You’ll see that the preview has the WordPress logo formatted with a black box around it. The last screenshot is the slider on the homepage that shows the logo in the same position as the preview, however, there is no box (the text with similar style settings all show up with the box just fine).

Thanks for the quick feedback Kriesi!
Is there a way to manually install the updated layer slider? I don’t really mind manually installing the components, but the new version is badly needed.
August 4, 2013 at 1:30 pm in reply to: LayerSlider – Inconsistent Result from preview to final rendering #131941I also can’t seen to edit the layer names. Any ideas why?
Ok. So does it really even matter what size image I upload? It sounds like the theme will rescale it anyway.
I only ask because I uploaded some large images to the AJAX portfolio (screenshots mostly) and they looked pretty bad when you clicked on the portfolio item and the image expanded.
Thanks again!
One more thought.
Is the image that gets reduced for the portfolio images the one that is attached as the featured image for the portfolio item?
Awesome thanks. This helps a ton!
One other question about the sizes (it might have the same answer).
What about the sized for the AJAX slides how or gallery. I’m not too worried about the sizes on the actual portfolio page since there is plenty of room. But since the AJAX portfolio opens a window within the page to show a sideshow/gallery images that are too large seem to really distort the AJAX display. I don’t think the theme resizes those images, so is there a best practice for image sizes there?
Thanks!
