Hello there, I received the below message from my Hosting provider:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

In the customer information system (KIS) we offer our customers the possibility to run applications with different PHP versions (currently 7.2, 7.3 or 7.4). We are sending this e-mail to you, because under customer ID 123 you use a package that supports PHP.

As PHP continues to evolve and old versions are no longer supported at a certain point in time, we regularly change the PHP versions to keep the WebHosting packages up to date.

The default PHP version PHP 7.2 will be switched off on November 4th, 2020. All domains, which are set to PHP 7.2 in the KIS will be changed to PHP 7.4 during this day.

Please ensure before the date of change that your scripts support PHP 7.4. If this is given, no changes are required on your side and the domains/directories concerned will be upgraded to PHP 7.4 on November 4th, 2020. Please check the functionality of your web pages again.

You can switch the affected domains or directories to a newer PHP version (7.3 or 7.4) and therefore test without any risk, whether the page is executable or not. If the website does not work after changing the version in your KIS you can reset the settings at the same place to the previous version and revise your website accordingly. All domains/directories that are on PHP 7.3 will not be automatically changed to PHP 7.4 on November 4th, 2020. From this date you can decide for yourself if and when you want to change your domains/directories to PHP 7.4.

I have shared my website link in the private content.

Please let me know if I need to do any changes to my website?

    Thank you! :)

    Hey Oliver,

I see that you are running an old version of the theme, I would advise that you update to 4.7.6.4 as soon as possible. The update to that version has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Enfold is compatible with the PHP versions your hosting is going to upgrade to, but we can’t say for sure if you are going to experience any problems or not. If you should have problems then we can help you out here on the support forum.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
