Hello, I was alerted by my hosting provider that one of my Enfold sites is increasing dramatically in storage usage. It went from 770 MB in August to 42 GB in December—without me making any changes or uploading anything. They told me “there is a folder in your wp-content/uploads called dynamic_avia that has A LOT of .css files that are taking up 40GB of disk space.” Can you please help?
Hey WebThings,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.8.8.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Also please make sure to activate the option to delete the old CSS and JS files under Enfold->Performance.
Best regards,
Rikard
Thanks, Rikard. I’ve updated Enfold from 4.8.6 to 4.8.8.1 and activated the “delete old CSS and JS files” option under Theme Options > Performance. I’m seeing the /uploads/dynamic_avia directory is still full of files, though. Should I empty that folder manually via FTP? If so, are there any critical files that need to stay?
Hi,
Thanks fro the login to your site and the sftp login, I followed the steps here and while our documentation says depending on the webhost it can take a while for the directory to be cleared, I also manually cleared the older files. Please check.
Best regards,
Mike
Hi Mike, that looks like it worked and I’ve confirmed with my host as well. Appreciate your time and effort on this! Feel free to close the thread.
Hi,
Glad we were able to help, if you have any further questions please create a new thread and we will gladly try to help you. Thank you for using Enfold.
Best regards,
